Personal Data ESS WDA

Dear experts.
I am configuring ESS for Colombia. We are using WDA. ERP 6.0 ehp 6.
The structure of conversion used is: HCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R0002
For this country the system use a Infotype SECONDARY 0837 that is showed in the screen of the Infotype 0002.
View:v_t582v
When I have entries for the Infotype 0002 in the table v_t582v the system not show data in the screen of the service "Personal Data" in the ESS. If I delete the entry of this record the system show the information.
I have used SAP_ALL , however the issue continue.
I have checked data in the ERP .
What is the cause?

Issue in confirmation links for personal data ESS application (CA)

Hi All,
We have implemented EXIT button configuration for ESS applications and the Exit button along with 'Go to Home page' link is navigating to custom created page in portal.
The configuration done earlier for ESS applications like Address Update, Family Member/Dependents works fine.
We got a new service added (Personal data) & tried configuring the Exit button for this application also.
Some how the exit button doesnt seem working for Canada besides it working for US.
Please help in figuring out if there is any cause of the Exit button not working for personal data application for molga 07 specially. Adding to it, the links for confirmation screen are also not working for the same application

Its seems to be the Services exits that are county specific Services .........mease the Molga ( country Code ) is set for this services is "US"
That Y its working fine .....
But as per your REq you want this Services working for the Molga 07 ...
I thikn for this you need to set the Molga 07 in the contry specific home pages......
Then it will work fine

Can't see the ESS Additional Personal Data link within Personal Information

Hi All,
For some reasons, I can not see the Additional Personal Data link within the ESS Personal Information iView. I have checked the Homepage framework and the existence of the iView in the PCD and everything appears to be fine.
Do I need to assign any additional infotype to my id or give myself specific authorisations to see this link?
I would really appreciate if you could provide an answer to my query.

Hi,
I think mostly you have maintained the data in PA30 Transaction and had data in Info type 0105.
After this try to check with your EA-HR patch and SAP HR patch in the services. If both are not maintained at the same patch levels such type of problems will occur.

Hide or remove delete button - ESS personal data iView

Hi, regarding for example ESS(50.4) personal data overview iView.
How to hide or remove delete button in the personal data overview iView screen(I know that this can be done on the ITS server side (web studio), but I want to do this in R3)

Achim was right on. Edit/Change the Internet Service in R/3. A few things to consider though....
(1) if using the original service, you may want to create a copy of theme 99 into your own theme (any number will do...99 is just the default theme). If doing so, be sure to change the service's service file (yeh, I always loved that about SAP's naming) to point the ~theme paramter to your new theme.
or
(2) Copy the entire service into your own "Z" service. Then modify the templates as you wish. You will need to point the iView to this "Z" service too.
Also, it is best to do it via SE80 vs. file level because then it will be part of a transport and follow the correct path through the landscape.
Now, if you really want to go back to R/3....find the function module or program the transaction code for your service actually calls, make a "Z" version of it, modify it, create your own "Z" t-code to call it, and THEN modify the internet service's service file (either the original SAP one or a custom version) to call your new "Z" t-code. Lot of work...yes, I know....but that's the way it's done if you gotta get back down to the ABAP level.

How to show email id in personal Data of ESS

Hi All,
I have a scenario in which i have to show the email id mail in personal data iview of the personal information .
Iam using NWDI . I have checked the personal data DC and found that the RFCs being called in the application are related to 0002 infotype. I didnt find any field for email id in 0002 infotype. In my case the email id has to be picked from su01 user data.
Please help me to proceed further.

This is there in ESS version 1.0 also. You can add remove lot of fileds using the infoset in SPRO setting in

Table Control Icon appearing in Personal Data in ESS in Portal

Hello All,
We are on SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SPS09 with version details as
J2EE Engine 6.40 PatchLevel 87289.311
Portal 6.0.9.0.0
After installation of Portal system we installed Business Package for
Employee Self-Service 4.6C - 4.7 on our Portal system and installed ITS
6.20 patch 22 over Portal inorder for connecting Portal with Backend R/3 system.Ours is a development serverand Portal application and ITS are installed
on the same server.
When we access ESS on Portal ,and navigate to Personal Information /Personal Data / , there a small table control icon appears which we donot want to appear and which does not appear on R/3 side.Simultaneously for this transaction in R3 a selection row appears which doesnot appear in Portal.This problem is given even when we run ESS transactions through ITS on webgui.Wt might be the cause of this error ,do we need to make any settings ( Table specific) in ITS or R/3 or somewhere else. Changes to the ESS Personal Data iview

Hi There
With regard to the 'Personal Data' iview on ESS.
I have a scenario where fields marked as REQUIRED are DISABLED.
How do i enable them ?
When trying to change the field configuration by previewing the Personal Data iview and then doing 'control + right click' on the relevant disabled field the changes DO NOT take effect.
When changing an enabled field the change take effect.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this ?
Any advice with regard to resolving this issue will be appreciated.

The ESS/MSS fields can be enabled/disabled from spro settings at the backend.
Please check with HR consultant to see the status of that field.
The pathmay be:
>Personnel Management > personnel administration > own data > personal data

Personal Data not working for an employee in ESS

Hai All,
I have configured Personal Data in ESS. But, for a particular employee Personal Data is giving the below mentioned error when he edits the data. The error happens when he edits and clicks on Review or when he clicks on the dropdown for Nationality(Only for this field, the error occurs) and selects a value from that dropdown.
As I searched in the forum, I found that we have to search ST22 for that user. In ST22, it is throwing 4 errors:
1. UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION CX_HRPA_INVALID_INFOTYPE_DB. The exception 'CX_HRPA_INVALID_INFOTYPE_DB' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere along the call hierarchy. Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_HRPA_TIMECONSTRAINT========CP" - in "COMPUTE_INSERT". The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
2. SYSTEM_CANCELED. The current program "CL_HRPA_TIMECONSTRAINT========CP" has been terminated by another mode.
3. OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL. Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC" - in "HRXSS_PER_CLEANUP".
The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
4. SYSTEM_CANCELED. The current program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC" has been terminated by another mode.
My questions are:
a Why it is not working for a particular employee?
b Why it is working for other employees?
c Did I miss out some configurations?

Thankyou for the reply. But the user has entry in the infotype. Likewise, it is possible to change data from PA30 transaction also. The problem occurs only when I try to change data through ESS.

EHP5 ESS - Add Additional fields from custom infotype on Personal Data

Hi Gurus
I am able to launch the Personal Information screen under Personal Profile
I will need to add more fields on the Personal Profile --> Personal Data section
I have added the infotype in V_T7XSSPERSUBTY
I am not sure if I will need to do some configuration GenIL Model Editor
Is BADI (Enh. Imp) HRESS_PER_CONFIG_KEY relevant to adding fields to the screen?
Please guide how to go about doing this

Address overview page fields, you need to adapt the Address component

Hi Prasanna,
This one is the front end Web Dynpro Java defect. So there wont be anything in the ST22.
Here is the problem you are facing. As its Personal Data application i.e. IT0002, it doesnu2019t have any subtypes. But the code is trying to read the subtypes and its not able to find the records. (Its trying to read the subtypes node, as there is no subtype for PData, you are getting java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0)
This is quiet common error, I have seen it couple of times. There should be SAP note for this or raise the ticket to SAP they will fix it.
Itu2019s a simple issue we too can fix it but the correct process is to get it addressed by SAP.

Personal Data and Address for Country Grouping 99 - error on ESS

Hello All,
I have configured personal data and address infotypes in ESS for the country grouping 99.
I have done the following config
1. Assign Screen Structure to Infotype Versions
2. Define Active Subtypes and Use Case
3. Define Country-Specific Applications
4. Created a Z service and then assigned this service to subarea.
I made use of US service and copied to z.
after the config when i log on to the portal and check the personal data or address links am getting the error:
An exception occurred that was not caught., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
the st22 dump is

Validation in Personal Data application of standard ESS

I want put some validation on standard ESS personal data application.I have imported the DC and create project with the it.
But now I am unable to understand how to implement the validation. I want to put validation on First Name & Last Name as it is accepting Nos also.
I want this to accept only Characters.
Please teel me where and how to put the validation.

When users with multiple personel numbers (employees with multiple contracts) change bank data address data or personal data in ESS, the data is not copied to the reference personel numbers. Whilst, if the data is changed in R/3 al data is copied properly to the reference pers. numbers.
Is there a switch or a customizing setting to enable this for ESS?

Error In ESS personal Data View

Dear All,
I am facing an Issue in ESS .
When I click on Personal Information Page--> Personal Data and click on the Edit button I am able to edit my own data.
When i Click on the Exit button present there, the current window is not returning back to the Personal Information Over View page.. Insetad a new window is opened displaying the Personal Information Page.
Kindly help me in solving this isse.

Hi Shiv,
This issue of new window will occur not only in Personal Data , but in other ess services as well. There is a setting which you have to maintain called the Wworkprotect mode.
For a single user it is ,
click the personalise link in the right hand top corner after logging into the portal.You will find an option called 'Work protect mode' in the Left hand side of the 'personalize' window. choose any of the radio button suitable for you. In this case, choose 'open in the same window'. and save it.Relogin to the portal to see the change.
For all users, you can make a general setting
Go to Sysytem Adminstration -> System Configuration -> Service Configuration -> Expand Application -> Expand com.sap.portal.epcf.loader -> Exapnd Service -> open epcfloader.Change the property Workprotect.mode.default to 2.
Right Click com.sap.portal.epcf.loader -> click on Adminstrate -> Click on Restart.
