Personal hotspot no longer available - after software upgrade to latest software

Hardware: 3GS Iphone
Software: Latest Iphone drivers
I had been experiencing problems with not being able to restore my iphone with existing software. I finally upgraded the software for a restore and after 3 attempts faile, on the fourth time it appeared to completed the process.
Now with the upgrade there was additional features installed, such as Icloud etc, but my main concern was that I am no longer able to access personal hot-spot!
It is actually no longer available in settings. Can you plesae confirm whether this has this been removed on new software?
Is there another option apart from having install my old software back to use this function which I rely on daily?
Please note that I do not have a previous backup on my old version to restore to previous version.
Appreciate any solutions anyone may offer!

It has not been removed. Who is your carrier? The carrier must support it and you must subscribe to a data plan that includes tethering. The only other way to get it to appear is on a jailbroken phone.

Personal Hotspot no longer working after iO6 update
Is anyone else having problems with the Hotspot after the update? I have updated my phone, and my hotspot is 100% non functional - I have 4S, on Verizon. I normally just connect using USB, but even though I turned hotspot "on", it does not show a connection. It does not show my phone as an option for WIFI on my laptop anymore now either.
Just wondering if there are any solutions? I rely on this for work, so I'm screwed come Monday. Wish I hadn't updated now, how frustrating. This is my first update since going iPhone, and I'm not impressedSettings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved. -
Boot Camp no longer available after Mavericks upgrade?
Hi,
I've recently upgraded to Mavericks (MacBook 13" 2010). Since upgrading I have not been able to access BootCamp during start up. The partion still exists, but there seems to be some problem(s) with it.
I've attached a screen shot of the issue as it appears in Utilities.
I fear I may have to reformat and partion the hard drive again, but I don't have access to the Boot Camp disk (just moved country and didn't consider it to be essential packing....)
Any advice would be great!

Mac OS no longer available after trying to remove Windows on Bootcamp. How can I restore Mac OS without the Mac HDD in options?
So what I did was, I had bought my iMac from a shop and asked them to do bootcamp for me. However, they installed 32 bit instead of 64. My fault, I did not make my self clear about it. So after it has been delivered to my house, I realized that I wanted the 64 bit. I tried to remove windows on bootcamp but honestly, I have not experienced this before. So I failed. I believe, I did something wrong.
So I opened the iMac and it keeps asking me to go to windows. Windows OS also corrupted.
I tried the Option Key but the only option is Windows 7 only. So using a different keyboard, I press option and it only shows Windows HDD and the Mac HDD has gone.

Wireless connectivity no longer available after TWC adds digital phone service
Hi All,
My problem is that my wireless Internet connectivity is no longer available after Time Warner Cable added digital phone service to my existing TV and broadband Internet service.
Prior to having the digital phone service added, my set up was a Motorola Surfboard cable modem connected to my Linksys WRT54G wireless router, with three computers (two Win XP desktops and one Win 7 laptop) wired to the Linksys router. I had wired Internet connectivity on all three computers. Importantly, I could also access the Internet wirelessly from the laptop instead of using a wire.
AFTER having the digital phone service added, my set up is the same except that now an Arris Touchstone Telephony Gateway (TG862G) has replaced the Motorola Surfboard cable modem. I still have wired Internet connectivity on all three computers. However, now I cannot access the Internet wirelessly from the laptop. This is a real problem in that often others in the house need access to the wireless network as well.
I should also mention that (from a wired connection) I cannot access the Linksys router any longer via 192.168.1.1. Now, the Linksys router seems to be "invisible," almost as though it were a pass-through device. I can access the Arris gateway at 192.168.0.1 (for what it's worth), but not the Linksys router.
Also, not sure this is important, but some time ago (when my wireless was working) I had configured the Linksys router so that it wouldn't broadcast the SSID. Through the Win 7 "Network and Sharing Center" I have tried to "manually connect" to my (hidden) wireless network. The message indicates that my hidden network already exists, but I still can't connect to it.
I've seen a few potential remedies involving power cycling the gateway and modem in certain sequences, setting the gateway's NAT mode to Bridged, etc., but nothing has worked so far. Time Warner Cable's only advice is for me to purchase (yet) another service so that the gateway can provide the wireless access, but I since my Linksys router worked before I'd rather stick with that method (and avoid yet another charge).
I would be very grateful for any help you could provide for this problem.

2. I assume the Arris is also a wireless router. Use inSSIDer to find the best non-overlapping, non-interfering wireless channels. Change the wireless channels on both the WRT54G and Arris if necessary.

Many of my System Preferences will no longer work after installing Mountain Lion. Software Update, Startup Disk, iCloud, Time Machine, Notifications, etc. no longer will launch even though they do show their icons in the system preferences window. I keep getting a drop down window saying I must restart system preferences in order to use with a "Cancel" or "OK" choice. After I click on "OK" the window just keeps reappearing with the same choices and the pane I wish to use still remains inoperative. Third party preference panes DO work.

Tried to reply with my iPhone but not easy! Anyway, back on the laptop now. Yes the crash was bad but Tek support at Prism Sound was really good. In the end I rebuilt the whole system on a new disk which took a couple of days with all the plugins, softsynths etc.... but there seemed to be no alternative in my case, and this was agreed with Prism sound as being the only alternative left to me. I still don't really know what caused the crash but ML and Orpheus are both working fine now. Let's face it, you'll have to update at sometime..maybe best to pick some time between projects On balance, I suspect that my problems were unique to my system and that your installation will go ok.

"List Tools" tab is no longer available after adding webpart
In SharePoint 2013 I have added a generic content editor webpart to a discussion list (also tried with a documents library list). After this "List Tools" tab is no longer visible. Any ideas why?

If the books were all purchased from the iBooks Store, then you should be able to download it again. On your iOS devices, check in Settings > iBooks to see if Show Purchases is turned on and then open iBooks and they should be there. When trying to log on to my personal hotspot on my Ipone, after entering the password the system continues to ask for the password over and over again. How do I fix this?

The troubleshooting steps detailed below can help get you connected to your iPhone's personal hostpot.
Basic troubleshooting
See if your iOS device, computer, and wireless plan all meet the system requirements for Personal Hotspot.
Make sure Personal Hotspot is on: Tap Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Check the Internet connection on your iOS device: Tap Safari and load a new webpage.
If one connection type doesn't work, try another. For example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, use USB or Bluetooth.
Turn Personal Hotspot off and on: Tap Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Install the latest version of iOS.
Reset your network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If you still see the issue, restore the iPhone.
If you're still experiencing issues, try the steps below.
Wi-Fi troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue using Personal Hotspot with other Wi-Fi devices, try these steps:
Turn Personal Hotspot off.
Turn on Wi-Fi: Tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
Turn on Personal Hotspot.
If another device can't join your Wi-Fi network, make sure the Wi-Fi password is correct.
If the device can't see your Wi-Fi network, check your device name. Windows may not correctly show a device name that uses non-ASCII characters.
See how many devices are using your Personal Hotspot. Depending on your wireless carrier, the number of Wi-Fi connections may be limited to three devices at once.
If the other device still can't connect, turn Wi-Fi off and on for the device.
Make sure that your device can see other Wi-Fi networks.
Note: If you see "Unable to Join" or a timeout error when you try to connect a device using Wi-Fi, remain on the Personal Hotspot screen until the first device connects. After the device connects, you can leave the Personal Hotspot screen and use your iPhone normally. Your device will stop broadcasting Wi-Fi if you put it to sleep or if 90 seconds elapse and no connected devices use Wi-Fi. To share your Wi-Fi network again, tap Settings > Personal Hotspot.

i have ipad-2 -16gb wifi. i recently upgraded to latest software 4.3.5 by using i tunes. after updating my ipad wifi icon is bleached and showing no wifi tried resetting several times and also tried rebooting it and i restored the software several times but still the problem remains please help me out.

After all you've tried, Dah*veed is probably right about needing warranty assistance.
But first check to be sure Settings-Airplane Mode is set to OFF, and Settings-WiFi-WiFi is set to ON.
Try unplugging your WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will need to reconnect to your WiFi.

It is my advise to not disconnect your phone unless ur ovi suite says to do so, It took more than 45 mins on mine phone. i am not sure how long its gonnna take on urs one.
again there are limitations of this new software update (symbian Anna) it might not be available in your country. it is available in UK i aint sure about other countries. if you wana change your code leme know i'll send you mine.

After Itunes upgraded to latest version 11.0.2.26 Apple TV (1st gen) does not show up anywhere in Itunes
I have the same problem. It was working fine up until the last update for iTunes 11.0.2
Here's the details:
I have an Apple TV - first Gen and up until a couple of weeks ago, was regularly playing sync'd iTunes music and videos through it on a daily basis.
I see other devicess showing up in the "Devices" list in the left panel of iTunes (such as iPad, iPhone, etc.)
AppleTV used to be there consistently, then disappeared upon update to 11.0.2
Apple TV also does not show up in the devices tab under the Preferences window.
I have tried multiple suggestions on the support forum but none have worked.
Apple TV is able to access the network, is on the same network as the iMac with iTunes library connected. Both are connected to network via ethernet cable (not wifi). Both are able to access the internet (apple tv plays movie prieviews and gets updates). Using the Terminal app, I am able to ping the apple TV's IP number from the iMac and get a successful return.
Both have latest software downloads.
I have tried cold-booting the apple TV, resetting the router, and verified in the router device list that both imac and appleTV are listed as active, un-blocked connections.
I don't intend to buy an Apple TV 2nd gen or later (since I bought this one and it's not working now due to software update, what guarantee that a later model won't generate the same problem later.
One last wrinkle, I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old who are jonesing hard for their "dance party" fix.
Have you ever wronged a two year old?
