Personal name

Outlook 2010 when using the email ([email protected]) to send my Personal name does not come up correctly. When I go into the account settings it will not allow me to change the name there. It was working correctly when i first started using Outlook
2010, but some where along the line it changed and I can not correct it. If there is anyone out there that this has happened too and you were able to correct it please help. The email account is set up with MAPI now it's started off as POP but when I
installed one of the updates everything changed.

Do you mean your name doesn't display correctly on the recipient's side? The display name can be modified under Account Settings. See:

If it cannot be modified under Account Settings, we may try to remove the account and then recreate it with the correct display name to fix the issue. If there is any difficult when configuring your email account, you can refer to this KB article:

Just the name? Don't ever recall that being a feature. However, for Mail and Messages (and a few other apps): Settings app > General > Text Size

How to retreive forgotten apple id when all we know is persons name?

Hello,
A family member has completely forgot their apple id. They think that they set it up as an @apple email address but they cant remember. We have tried the other email accounts that they have but none of them work. Whats furstrating is that we cant even get through to the security questions section to retereive the apple id. Is there anyway we can get the apple id back when we dont know any of the details that were set up on it apart from the persons name?
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

ICloud has sorted my Contacts in Outlook by the Persons name rather than the entry in the "File As" box.

Using the save as drop-down box I saved the file as the name then when I saved the file as the "Company Name, Person Name" the contact was re-sorted using the company name. But, what a pain in the a$$.

How do I stop the last persons name from showing up on my screen inside that circle?

WWhen I'm switching between apps, there is a small circle that shows the persons name that I last facetimed with. How do I get rid of that?

SOLUTION
Open "terminal" on your mac and type the following:
defaults write com.apple.mail IgnoreSortOrderWhenSelectingAfterDelete 1
(copy and past the whole line)
This will stop that behaviour in mail.
It works on most opperating systems.

TCA - How to define/convert Contact Person Name???

Hi Guys,
We have a requirement in our implementation where we need to define "CONTACT PERSON NAME" along with defining the contacts like Phone numbers, emails etc....
We are using API - " hz_contact_point_v2pub.create_contact_point" to create a contact but this doenst allow us to define "Contact Person Name"
Please advice....

HT201412 what do you do when your phone numbers no longer have the contact persons name just a number. Also names are missing from the address book where contacts are.

I, too, love everything about my phone. The other day I tried to crash my Z10 by running multiple apps and having videos running in the background. Do you think my Z10 showed any signs of slowing down? Nothing doing! It ran as smooth as silk. I'm very impressed.

Do we need to attach the person name of employee whose reverse Global deployment we are doing or the person name of the person who is doing this transaction.

You just need to attach the person to the FND User. System Administrator responsibility - Security - User screen.
After you have linked the person, you can check the table
Select * from FND_USER
Where user_name = '<user_name>';

Contact person name in the invoice print out is not comming properly, but it is comming in the acknowledgement properly, why this is happening .

Hi there,
For all print issues, we need to check the code in the form layout of the relevant print progof the output. You can find the relevant print prog in the Processing routines on the left hand side when u select a O/p type.
If the data is not at all getting printed, we need to supply the values into the code with table-field details.
If the field mapping is already done but the details are not getting completely printed, check on the number of characters that prog is picking.

Why can't I hover over a persons name and see address or pick "find mail" and see all eamils from that person anymore?

When hovering over a persons name in an email I receive it used to show the actual email address.
When right clicking on a persons name in an email I receive it used to show a drop-down list where I could choose "find email" and all email from that person would be displayed.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

Configuring mail personal name in Convergence.

We're looking for a solution that allows us to use the LDAP displayname as the personal name for mails sent in convergence.
In Messaging 6.3/UWC we were able to get a solution by setting UWC to not use personal names at all.
Then in the messaging server we use a "PERSONAL_NAMES" mapping entry to add the display name to any entry that's missing one.
That way people who have set their personal name in the mail client, get to keep it.
And the display name is added to people using UWC.
Unfortunately in convergence, this no longer works.
Since Convergence always adds a personal name, with no way to turn it off.
We could force messaging server to always replace the personal name with displayname.
But that will overwrite any settings people put into mail clients.
So two possible approaches come to mind.
I'm hoping its possible to define a custom channel which only catches mail coming from this machine.
So we'd have 3 channels: tcp_localhost for this machine, tcp_intranet for mail coming from on campus, tcp_local for everything else.
Then we can use the "sourcepersonalmap" keyword only on the tcp_localhost channel and not on tcp_local or tcp_intranet.
Another approach might be if its possible to add a conditional rule to the "PERSONAL_NAMES" mapping to say "exit unless the IP address this mail came from is X". Similar to the way we currently have a rule that says "exit if the name isn't blank".
But I suspect that the mapping table rules don't have access to the IP address.
So any idea's if either of those approaches is feasible.
If so, how do you do it?
Or any other approaches that would work..
