What do you mean by personal profile? Yes they are different and when I installed J2ME it asked for the path of J2SE directory.

  • Using MMAPI with Personal Profile...

    Hi,
I've read everywhere that the Mobile Media API, as an Optional Package for J2ME, is compatible with both CLDC/MIDP and CDC/PP.
I need to write an application with MMAPI for a device that runs CDC/PP. I can write MMAPI with the Wireless Toolkit 2.2 but it does not feature the CDC. So I tried Nokia's CDC/PP emulator (Nokia 9500 series 80) but it does not contain MMAPI and everybody on the Nokia forum say it's a pity that the Personal Profile cannot use MMAPI...
So I don't know what I can do. Is there an emulator that allows me to write an application running on CDC with Personal profile, and that uses the Mobile Media API?
That's quite important for my internship and I'm quite disapointed not to find what I search. Can anyone help me?

yes,..ive tried the mmapi with creme cdc vm and it works,...but,only for playing wav,..i dont know about video. coz my program isn't working top play video with it...

  • Media API on Personal Profile

    Hi,
I'm trying to write an appliation which uses the Camera on my PDA. I'm using IBM J9 on the PDA with Personal Profile, and my application uses lots of AWT widgets, so it's not possible to move to Midlets.
I was trying to add the MIDP library to my application to be able to access the camera. For some reason I can't do this, because J2ME applications can only use one profile. Is there anyways to add the Multi Media APIs to Personal Profile applications ?
Can anyone give me some advice on how to make this work ? or point me to an alternative way of accessing the camera on my PDA.
    Cheers,

  • Personal Profile for Palm

is there Personal Profile for Palm? I try IBM J9, I cannot find it, where is it? or is it possible?

Why there is no Personal Profile for Palm, but there is, but there is no MIDP for Linux PDA, but there is in Palm. This is strange.

  • Personal profile development

    Hello all:
When I download Java ME SDK 3.0, I notice one of the feature is
CLDC/MIDP, CDC/FP/PBP/AGUI and BD-J integrated into one SDK
So Java ME SDK 3.0 doesn't contain Personal Profile? There is a personal profile reference implementation on sun's website. Is it the PP package one can use for CDC/PP development?
    Thanks,
    P

    Hi,
I'm seeing that your message is old, and I would like to know if you solve your problem, as I have more or less the same now.
I'm working with Eclipse IDE, and with J2ME-CLDC works OK, but I don't know how to work with CDC.
I have downloaded the toolkits of Sun, but don't know how to use them with eclipse.

  • Personal Profile and WinCE

I Have to develop an application intended for Pocket PC running WindowsCE.
I have readed articles explaining the use of Personal Profile and all the related CDC profiles, but in the download page, there is only a Linux/x86 java runtime environment...
How can I develop correctly applications for WinCE with Personal Profile?
Note: I'm new to CDC but I've been working with CLDC/MIDP for 2 years..
    Thanks
    Ricardo

Ok, after I posted this topic I've noticed there was a huge thread about this problem. I haven't readed all of topics, but I'll try to avoid my problem, once there's no solution this time..
Thanks to brownb2 to start this important discussion here.

  • How to port Personal Profile Application to PalmOS emulator

    Hi Everyone,
I have implemented an application by using Personal Profile API in Linux RedHat9.0. But I don't know how to port the application to a PalmOS emulator.
    Would anyone advice me?
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Paul

Yes, means you cannot currently. There is no Java Virtual Machine and matching Java Class Libraries supporting the Personal Profile which runs on a PalmOS device. Currently there are MIDP 1.0 implementations for Palm OS implemented in 68k. IBM is currently working with PalmOne and together we are developing a native ARM based MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1 solution for the PalmOS 5+ Tungsten devices.

  • CANT CONNECT TO DB USING DATASOURCE ON J2ME PERSONAL PROFILE

Having installed the optional JDBC package for J2ME and using the personal profile. I cant seem to connect using a datasource provided by HSQLDB. I keep getting the following error in WSDD:
This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type javax.naming.Referenceable (typically some required class file is referencing a type outside the classpath)
My classpath contains the database.jar file.
    Where am I going wrong?
please please could some one help.
    Thanks

Just a guess according to my Personal Java experience: maybe that optional JDBC package for J2ME is only JDBC1.2 compatible so that your should use HSQLDB JDB1.2 package? Thanks for correction.

  • Personal Profile service for Brazil - Type Conflict for infotype 0002

    Hello All,
We are enabling personal profile service for Brazil. And we did all the required configuration for that.
When I access the personal info service I can see the overview page with personal data. But when I click on display link, I get the error message saying -
Type conflict with ASSIGN in program CL_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_0002_BR
    Is there any configuration missing?
    Thanks,
    Bhushan

    Short text
Type conflict with ASSIGN in program "CL_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_0002_BR====CP".
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "CL_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_0002_BR====CP" had to be
         terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
        administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
You attempted to assign a field to a typed field symbol,
but the field does not have the required type.
    How to correct the error
Adapt the type of the field symbol to the type of the field or use an
untyped field symbol or use the "CASTING" addition.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
        keywords:
        "ASSIGN_TYPE_CONFLICT" " "
        "CL_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_0002_BR====CP" or "CL_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_0002_BR====CM003"
        "IF_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_STANDARD~OUTPUT_CONVERSION"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
        1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
           In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
        Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".

  • CDC Personal Profile and XML

    Hi everybody,
does anyone here has any experiences with J9 (CDC Personal Profile) and XML document?

Try kXML. It should work on any Java platform.

  • Show HTML in Personal Profile?

i'd like to show HTML (from a file or from a string) in any kind of component in an app running on a PDA. Probably i will use Personal Profile (and WSDD).
Are there any components I could use to show HTML. Maybe in AWT?
I know there are components like that in swing, but I don't know if I can use swing on a PDA??

    hi slomoman,
i am also interested in the answer. Here is my research:
You can show HTML in swing components like JEditorPane, But not in AWT.
Also I could not find a way, how to run swing app with WSDD on PDA.
    good luck

  • User Personal Profile Values

    Hello,
We have a custom profile to set up the default printer at a user level for our shipping program (in R12).  Currently, our users do not have access to the Personal Profile Values form and I would like to give them the ability to change this themselves.
The issue I have is allowing them to change other profiles.  I'd like to limit them only to the one profile for changing their default printer.
Is it feasible to run an update statement like the one below to set this up:
    update applsys.fnd_profile_values
    set user_visible_flag = 'N',
    user_visible_flag = 'N'
    where profile_option_id <> 11632;
Or is there a better script that we should run to update this.
    Regards,
    Matt

You can use the above update to change the visibility of your custom profile option (or you can achieve the same from the application -- Application Developer or System Administrator > Define Profile Option).
You may also see the docs in this thread https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2569789
Btw, why are you setting user_visible_flag twice in your above update? And, I think you need to change "profile_option_id <> 11632;" to be "profile_option_id = 11632;" -- Assuming 11632 is the profile option if of your custom profile option.
    Thanks,
    Hussein
