The Three Best Alternatives for Security Questions and Rescue Mail
   1. Use Apple's Express Lane.
Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the
bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then
'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Forgotten Apple
ID security questions' and click 'Continue'. Please be patient waiting for the return
phone call. It will come in time depending on how heavily the servers are being hit.
2.  Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contact Apple support.
3.  Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions.
A substitute for using the security questions is to use 2-step verification:

  • TS3276 receiving email problem

This what works fine:  I can send email out fine.  I recieve solicitor emails/junk mail (i.e., Shutterfly).  I recieve email from private senders(friends), even if it in a group message.
This where the proble is:  I cannot receive emails when the sender responds by choosing "reply or reply all" and a day or two passes and that person recieves a response that the message failed or was not delievered.  It lists an email address that is not our
I have trouble shooted to see if emails are receieved from our servers wedsite and all is delivered correctly.
The problem onle seems to be if I use my email from the Mac "stamp" icon.
    <Email Edited by Host>

If you are sending and receiving some mail with the Mail.app tool ("the stamp icon" tool) and having issues receiving certain mail from certain senders, then your local settings are likely correct.
If you're not running your own mail server here, you'll want to contact whomever is providing your mail services for assistance with this.  (Given Mail.app is working, this is likely the mail server that's involved.)
If you are running OS X Server as your mail server, then this would imply either a mail server configuration issue or a DNS configuration issue, or possibly both.  If you post your public domain, folks here can verify the DNS configuration, or you can perform the same checks with the dig command:
Launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and...
    dig +short example.com MX
    dig +short mail.example.com
    dig +short -x returned.ip.address
If DNS is correct, then the dig MX record for your domain (first command) will return the host name of your mail server.  The forward translation of your mail server host name (second command) will provide the IP address, and the third command should return the same name as your MX record and the input to the second command.
You'll also need to look at the mail server logs, to see if you can determine why some of the mail is bouncing. (Getting the wrong host name for your mail server — the so-called MX record — from public DNS will definitely cause messages to be misrouted, so that'd be one of the first details to investigate.)

  • Outlook - Receiving Email Problem

    1. Receiving emails very slow in Outlook.  It is much slower than receiving it on my mobile phone.
    2. Also keep receiving the following error message.  The name/account mentioned in this error message is no longer in use.
"Task "Vickie Wong Arrowcap - Receiving' reported error (0x80CCC92): 'Your e-mail server rejected y our login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings. The server responded: -ERR authorization failed Check your sever
    settings.' "
    Thanks

    Hi Yu888,
    Solution:
    1.)
Check plug-ins (third party) in your Outlook via using safe mode.
Note: Use, the “outlook.exe /safe” command in search box.
And see the result, it will hopefully boost the sending/receiving speed of emails.
2.) 0x80CCC92 error in MS-Outlook commonly can cause due to number of reasons such as:
*Wrong inputs of server details for Outlook (especially POP3)
*Improper synchronization between Outlook and Server
    *Corruption in PST File
To fix Outlook error 0x80CCC92, once check the inputs of server details and if you find it correct then apply scanpst.exe to know the exact reason behind this error.
You can also try the free Outlook PST Recovery Software, If you do not find any relevant solution for this error from the above given manual methods.

  • Receiving email problem

    Hello,
I need to be able to receive emails with a pdf attachment in them.
Sending emails from the transaction SO01 works, but how can I configure the inbox?
I read in a few blogs that I need to ask the Exchange guys to make a subdomain and link that to the SAP system. But what exact information should I give them and what exactly should I change in the system to make this work?
Please give me some detailed information cause I can't seem to get it working with blogs/other posts.
    Thanks upfront
    Regards,
    PJ

    Hi,
    Try using FM "SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1".
this FM helps us to send the files/data/text anything in SAP inbox, outbox and in Internet email id as well.

    Hi Longbow,
I would like to clarify the following things for troubleshooting:
    1. Please make sure that "Exchange server authentication" on receive connector "Default SERVERNAME" is enabled.
    2. Run ipconfig/flushdns to flush local DNS resolver cache.
    3. If the issue persists, please restart Hub Transport service and check the result.
    Hope my clarification is helpful.
If there are any problems, please feel free to let me know.

  • Receive Email Problems - Might Help?

I have read a few posts about email having stopped working.  I use my IPhone 4S to access all of my email accounts and very rarely do I log in using web-mail.  On Monday just passed, I noted that my IPhone had started reporting errors when trying to access my primary BT email and I havent received one since Monday.  Web-mail seemed to function fine and I have received various email nearly every day.
Anyhow, just got around to looking into the problem.  On the IPhone email account settings, I tried all the usual setting chnges etc but none worked.  Became very frustrated with it!
In the end I deleted the primary account settings from the phone and re-created the account from scratch.  Success!  The first mail that arrived was a 'Welcome' to the new BT Mail system - I had been migrated.  Curiously, when I logged in to the web-mail, no 'Welcome' email.  Start with this link and follow the buttons to where you need to be:
BT Email Set up, advice etc
Obviously, it worked for me and can't gaurantee it will work for you.  Delete accounts/change settings at your own risk!!

I have tried that a few times over the last couple of days with no luck, will try again, will try anything to sort this issue out

  • IMS 5.2 IMAP and keep copy on server / receive emails problem

    Hi everyone,
Here is my problem: I ve installed iMS 5.2 Patch 1 with NDS 4.16 on a Windows 2000 server env.
I configured one main domain and 2 other domains. Everything was going perfectly, but I remarked a strange problem early: I ve my outlook configured to keep a copy of my emails on the server and sometimes I connect to my account via the webmail and thee is no more emails. The mailbpx is empty. I have to reconnect 10 min. later and there, my emails are back...
I have the same problem with my outlook. I am using IMAP protocol and sometimes my outlook says there is no emails in my folder. I ve to wait the next day to recover my emails (or I have to connect via my webmail). If I use the POP protocol, Outlook (or another email client) consider that the new emails received are not new and then it doesn't recover them in my local mailbox. If I wait some time, then, it recovers EVERY email in my webmailbox (even if they already existed in my local mailbox, that creates a lot of double copies of each emails). Is there a way to avoid this and to make sure that it doesn't download every old email each time ? I tried this on a PC with outlook as the client and on a Mac with Entourage as the client and it does the same on both machines.
Could please someone light my lantern because I am a bit lost. I searched a lot for an explanation but did not found any.
    Thank you very much, Frdric

    In your imta.cnf:
In the channel blocks, tcp_local now reads:
    ! tcp_local
tcp_local mailfromdnsverify smtp mx remotehost inner switchchannel identnonelimited subdirs 20 maxjobs 1 pool SMTP_POOL maytlsserver maysaslserver saslswitchchannel tcp_auth sourcebrightmail backoff "pt30m" "pt1h"
I just added "sourcebrightmail" to the line.
In the option.dat, I added these lines. You will need to use the actual path/filenames on your system:
    BRIGHTMAIL_CONFIG_FILE=/usr/iplanet/server5/msg-dusty/imta/config/SpamAssassin
    BRIGHTMAIL_LIBRARY=/usr/iplanet/server5/bin/msg/imta/lib/libspamass.so
    BRIGHTMAIL_NULL_ACTION=data:,require "fileinto"; fileinto "SPAM"
    After making the changes,
    imsimta cnbuild
    imsimta restart dispatcher.
I made one other change, in the start-msg script, by adding this line:
    /usr/download/spamassassin/spamd -a &
so that spamd is started whenever I start iMS.

  • Sending and receiving email problem

for three months I have been unable to receive and send emails.  Is this just a storage problem and if so is there an alternative to buying more storage space?

  • Simple contact form Client not receiving email from test site

I have entered my client's verified email, cut and pasted it into place. I have added my email and my wifes email. The only person not getting the forms email info is my client. I'm baffled.

The URL for the site is getthenetbassguide com.businesscatalyst.com/index.html. I have added several peoples email address', including my own to the back end of the form. As I've said the only person not receiving emails is my client who opened an account with 1 and 1. I contacted 1 and 1. They show no spam filters on their end so I'm still baffled. I asked about firewall permissions and they were not helpful. Is there a way to monitor the email and see what could be blocking it?

  • Can no longer send or receive email from any account after Security Update

    Hello,
I have a problem with my email in Mail. I let software update install the latest security update (007) a few days ago. I have not been able to send or receive my email since the update. I have several accounts and use Mail as my client for all. This includes my mac.com account, 3 att.net accounts and my website email. All give me the same error which is an SSL thing and has something to do with the certificates. I am able to receive email if I turn SSL off on the ATT accounts but not the mac.com (and if I try to collect my email with SSL off I get an angry message from ATT warning me I am not allowed to do so) and I cannot send any at all from any account.
The error message reads "unable to connect- there may be a problem with the mail server or network.... The server error encountered was: Mail was unable to verify the identity of this server, which has a certificated issued to "mail.mac.com". The error was: An SSL error occured while trying to read data from the server. Verify this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct". It then states that the certificate could not be verified.
The certificate date on the mac.com account reads May, 29th , 2010.
I also have an iMac and a MacBook Pro which are also running Tiger. I have not and will not run the security update on these machines until I find out why it has messed up my email on the G5. I can still send and receive email with the exact same account settings on the MacBook so I know it is not the settings but something to do with the Security Update.
Has anyone else had trouble with this update? Any advice?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
I don't know if this is a corrupted preference file or not, but it sure can't hurt to try this.
If Mail is open, Quit Mail.
    /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Drag that .plist file to the Desktop. Launch Mail and see if you can send or receive e-mail. If you can, that .plist file is corrupted. Drag it to the trash, empty the trash and reboot. Your Mac will create a new preference file for you the next time you launch Mail.
Also... run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility is in your Applications/Utilities folder. Launch DU, select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, click Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

  • After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?

After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?

My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite.

  • HT3376 I am not receiving emails in my Mail account.  However, I am receiving them on my web based yahoo account and on my ipad.  The other strange thing is that on my Mac, I have been receiving emails from Apple.  How can i fix this problem?

I am not receiving email messages in my Mail account on my Mac OSX.  However, emails are being received on my ipad and my yahoo web site.  Also, all emails from Apple are going through in my Mail account.  How do I fix this problem?

Well, the other person said theirs was working now. On yours let's try this...
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

  • TS3899 When at home using our home wireless I can send and receive emails on my iPad no problem.  When using other wireless networks I can send emails to people who share the same Internet provider but not others.  Why?

Is the wireless provider the issue?  I can receive emails everywhere I go but in some locations can only send to a limited number of email addresses.

    Greetings
I suspect that the issue is the SMTP server settings. On your home network you are using your providers SMTP server and all is fine (If you check your email account configs you will find that the SMTP server is set to your providers?).
When you use a different network (provider) mail will not be sent unless you use that networks (providers) SMTP server (this is a security issue to address ways of "spamming").
So if youre 3G/4G provider is the same as you home provider all will work well via your home WiFi. If you turn off WiFi and just use your 3G/4G connection to send mail (iPhone/iPad etc) all will work well (when you are out and about and using anothers WiFi network).
If you are connected to, say a MacDonalds WiFi, mail will probably not be sent. (It will be received though).
Using WEB mail interface (via your WEB browser) removes this problem as well.
(A SMTP server is what is used to send email. So to successfully use anothers (not a networks the same as your providers) WiFi network and send email via it, you must know the SMTP servers name and reconfigure your email account/s to use that server to send mail.)

  • My phone is not receiving emails, what can I do to solve this problem?

    Hello Everyone
Can someone help me solve this problem?  My phone is not receiving emails. I have two accounts set up, my work and my personal emails; neither one is receiving any mail. What can I do to fix it?
    Thanks

I purchased this phone in December of 2010. It has worked perfecty since then. I recently deleted a GMail account that I was not using a couple of weeks ago. Since this morning my phone has not received any emails. I  have just deleted both of my email accounts and will attempt to set them up as new accounts to see if this will rectify the problem. Any suggestions are welcomed.
    Thanks
