Personal video and movies no longer showing after Apple TV Update

Since I updated my Apple TV (second gen), all my personal videos seem to have vanished. This includes videos I may have created and/or digitized myself that are present in iTunes on my Mac. Now all I see are movies I purchased thorugh iTunes. I am connecting via my lcoal network to my Mac.
How do I get all my video to show again as it did with the last version of the software?

I believe it depends on licensing rights for movies which rotate from time to time. For example you can usually predict what movies are going to disappear based on their premiering (or re-premiering) on cable channels. My guess is that whatever movies you had on your wishlist probably just premiered on HBO or one of the pay cable channels. Eventually their licensing rights will expire and the movie will return to ATV.

Videos and movies no longer recognized after AP 3.3.2 restore

I had to restore my entire hard disk due to corruption by Apple's iPhotoLibrary Upgrader utility. After a Time Machine restore (suggested by Apple Support), I realized that I did not backup the AP3 application. I got out my original AP3 install DVD, installed it, then upgraded it thru Software Update to vs 3.3.2.
After spending a day reconnecting my images to their references and updating the previews, I realized that my movie/video files are no longer playable in AP3.
The movie thumbnail appears distorted. Clicking on it opens the Viewer, but no movie appears. When I select 'Show in Finder' for a movie, the master file is correctly shown. The Master file is fine, it plays in Quicktime just fine.
I tried to reonnect the video files, but they have 'Online' status and the reconnection accomplishes nothing. I did note that when I go into the reconnect panel, I cannot see any movies in the bottom window, just jpegs and raw image files.
I took a new movie with my camera and tried to import it. Aperture does not see the movie on my flash card.
I tried opening my other libraries and observe the same behavior. So this problem is with the application and NOT the specific library.
I've also repaired permissions, and rebuilt the library, with no success.
The only thing I haven't tried is to reinstall AP3, which I just did yesterday. It just feels like my copy of AP3 doesn't have all the 'movie parts' included.

You need to select exactly "RAW+jpg" pairs, otherwise, Aperture will import only jpeg or raw, and a video file is neither of those. If that does not help, check your video codecs:
Check, if you have the codec 3ivxVideoCodec.component installed, see how to remove it, if necessary: Aperture 3: May be unresponsive or have slower performance with third-party video codec
Also, try if removing the Flip4Mac video components will help, if you have them installed.

Javascripts for gallery images and movies do not work after Apple updates?

The javascript that opens image links and movies no longer appears to work after runing recent Apple updates. (OSX 10.4.7 and Safari 2.0.4) The pages still work fine in Firefox under 10.4.7 and also in older versions of the OS (10.4.6) and Safari (2.0.3), but nothing happens anymore when clicking on these using Safari on my recently-updated MBP. Has anyone else experienced this?

Videos and Apps don't play after 3.0 update

I just bought my ipod touch 3 days ago. worked fine the first day, even with the upgrade, but now it refuses to play videos and apps

Go here and download the manual for the iPod Touch : http://support.apple.com/manuals/
You are going to do a full reset to factory conditions and do not use the Touch's back up to restore. If you have a file error that will just put it back on the Touch so add the videos and apps from scratch.
If that won't work then take it to the Genius Bar at your nearest Apple store, make an appointment by email first so you won't have to wait.
If they can't fix it they'll replace it.

AirPlay and Remote no longer working after 6.1 update.

After updating my Apple TV to iOS 6.1 I am no longer able to connect to it via AirPlay (from iPad or iTunes) or even control it with Remote.app on my iPad.
After hard restarting it (by unplugging it) I am able to, until it goes to sleep, after which it becomes unreacheable, and remains so even after being awoken by the physical Apple remote.
What is going on?
Please fix this soon, Apple!

Just updated my iPhone 5 this morning, and then whilst out I bought the latest AppleTV (only so I'd get AirPlay compatibility). Brought it home and updated it.
Note I've made sure ATV & iPhone are on the same WiFi network. Have enabled sharing on my MacBook iTunes (not that I'm sure you need this for airplay). I terms of trying air play from MacBook to ATV I haven't found out a way to do this yet, however it might be because I've never done it before and haven't found the write button to click...
Then I could NOT work out how to get airplay working in any form from my iPhone to ATV. Also tried AppleRemote IOS app as I noted an update came through but I haven't got that working either.
Will monitor this thread and hopefully someone can give advice/workaround.

Video and audio not in synch after 11.6 update

Ive updated to the 11.6 version flash player several times and this out of synch issue has happened every time. In the past I just went back to older version. Now the sites I use (youtube, letmewatchthis.com...ext) wont let me use the older version at all. So once again I updated, and of course I have the same problem. The audio appears normal, but the video is dragging, going into a slowmotion kinda thing. Im using Mozilla Firefox, my cpu is a desktop windows XP service pack 2 Pentium 4 1500 MHz 1.50 GHz 512 MB of RAM (yes I know its a pretty pathetic desktop by todays standard, but its all I got for the moment) Ive went down the list on the troubleshooting page and did all that I could. Deleting browsing history, removing flash cache, disable hardware acceleration. Im all out of ideas. If someone could help that would be splendid.

Can you try out latest 10.3 build to see if that works for you? It should work on most sites.

I have iTunes 10.4.1.10 / Quicktime 7.7 on my desktop, purchased music videos and movies will not play the sound. Non purchased movies play the sound ok ?!?!?
I have iTunes 10.1.2.17 / Quicktime 7.6.9 on a netbook and all play ok.
Suggests that there is a configuration problem that theyare not telling the users about. Please can you advise what the problem is and a solution?

YouTube uses Adobe Flash, maybe you can re-install Flash or right click on the video and check the sound settings

Getting videos and movies to play on iPod

I have many videos and movies, mostly mpeg.
I have been waiting 4 hours, since I clicked export save movie for iPod play? This is taking 4ever!
I upgraded to the QT Pro to accomplish this task, and the progess window now shows 28% At this rate it will take me years to save the videos I have - for iPod play!
Any way to speed up? I can only imagine how long it will take a full length movie???

QT Pro is incredibly, incredibly slow - BUT the results are gorgeous and you don't have to fiddle with settings.
If you value speed over image quality, then you will need to download Handbreak.
Before you do, you will need to read the iPod DVD Ripping Guide, which explains the process.
If you want to rip the DVDs you own to your harddrive, get MacTheRipper. Doing so speeds up the process of converting to an iPod-compatible format.

I would recommend setting the wireless encryption on the AirPort Express BEFORE configuring it for the AirPort Extreme in this case. This issue also comes up often when configuring AirPorts into a WDS.
If setting up security in my recommend order does not work, temporarily connect the Express by Ethernet to the Extreme; make the security changes, and then, move the Express back to the desired location.

Where are videos and movies stored?

In preferences, I see where it says the music is stored and I relocated it to another drive. I cannot find my movies and videos. Where do they get stored?

If you have iTunes set to keep your library organized, videos and movies are store the same place as music. Television shows are in a folder called TV Shows and movies in a folder called Movies. However, you can check this by clicking on a movie, video or television show in iTunes, Get Info and the look at the bottom of the Summary Tab. It will tell you exactly where it's stored. And, though I'm only guessing as I don't have a Windows box to test it on, that if you select something and right click on it, you'll see and option called something like "Show in Explorer" which will take you right to where the file is stored.

It is not Apple that decides this. Since Apple is just the retailer, they do not own the copyrights to the content they sell on the iTunes store, if the copyright owner decides to remove something from the store that you have purchased Apple must abide by the terms of their licenseing agreements and remove it. Regretablly this also removes the items from your purchase history. This is why it is up to you to download and backup all of your purchases if you wish to maintain your investment.

Since updating to 7, videos and movies won't play

I just uploaded the latest version of iTunes. Since doing so yesterday, the videos and movies I had in my Library won't play. I get the sound, but all I get for a picture is colors. Anyone know how to debug? How do I get to view my videos again?

First thing to check would be system requirements,
Right click on My Computer click on Properties,
Near the bottom it will say what processor and Ram are.
For all video to play properly iTunes / Quicktime requires 2.0+ GHz Pentium Class processor and 512MB Ram and 32MB Video Ram.
If you do meet the system requirements, You may want to try uninstalling / reinstalling Quicktime.
Start...Control Panel...Add Remove Programs
Remove Quicktime
Open My Computer
Browse to c:\Program Files\ and delete the Quicktime folder.
Go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html and make sure that QuickTime 7.1.3 for Windows 2000/XP is selected.
Download and install, After install, restart and test.
Hope that works.

I downloaded and converted several music videos and movies on Videora Converter and now I don't know how to transfer them to my Ipod... I've tried to upload them from Ipod and that didn't work either. Please help...

Just use iTunes to import them. Load up iTunes and click on "File", then scroll down to "Import". Browse to where your movie file is and click on it to import it. After this, you will need to resync your iPod in order to get the movie onto it.
