Personal Web Page Error Message
Has anyone else had problems with the website builder? Last night I was on the phone with tech support for 2 hrs trying to figure out why I can't add pictures to my website. Everytime I tried to add photos or text I got the message, " The type of item you are attempting to insert has not been implemented."
It was finally recommended that I delete my page and start from scratch, which I did and still I got the same error.
Anyone have this problem and has a solution for me.
Thanks
I am able to add images to my personal webspace without any issue. If you can give me some more information about the process you are using, maybe I can play with it a little and see if I can find a solution.
What browser and version are you using?
What format are the images you are trying to add? (.bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg...?)
How large are the files?
Can you give me a step-by-step of the path you are taking to upload the files?
Have you tried uploading the files from a different location? (For instance, if they are in your My Documents folder, try moving them to your Desktop and upload from there.)
Using an FTP client is a valid workaround, but if there's something broken then Verizon or Trellix (or both) need to fix it.

Modidy the Web Dispatcher Error message
Hi,
Where do we modify the web dispatcher error message "500 Dispatching error" to a cutome message on the J2EE?
Thank you.note says:
Customization of 500 Internal Server Error
This response code is returned when there is a problem with the application or the server. Any not handled Exception or Error triggers the return of response with code 500.
To return different content on error occurance, you need to handle the error by inserting the appropriate declaration in web.xml.
Sample declaration for handling of test.MyApplicationException occurances in the application scope:
<error-page>
<exception-type>test.MyApplicationException< /exception-type>
<location>/customerrors/MyApplicationException.jsp</location>
</error-page>
Note1: For each error condition you need to handle (application exception use a separate error page. For all other exceptions use a global error handling definition for java.lang.Throwable.
However you must be aware of the following:
In case java.lang.OutOfMemoryError appears the subsequent behaviour of the JVM is undefined and this may lead to unpredicatable effects. Therefore the webcontainer will not pass such error to the error page for handling.
If the following general definition
<error-page>
<exception-type>java.lang.Throwable< /exception-type>
<location>/customerrors/WhateverProblem.jsp</location>
</error-page>
is in place, then the error handler resource is responsible for logging the error condition.
This means the resource handling general problems if such is declared must be dynamic (a JSP page or a servlet not HTML page)
Note2: Exceptions are searched in order of appearance in web. xml and not determining closest in class hierarchy.
This is true for all patchlevels of J2EE Engine 6.20 and versions of J2EE Engine 6.40 lower than SP11.
Therefore if test.ChildException extends test.ParentException extends java.lang.Exception and
<error-page>
<exception-type>test.ParentException</exception-type>
<location>/customerrors/ParentException.jsp</location>
</error-page>
<error-page>
<exception-type>test.ChildException</exception-type>
<location>/customerrors/ChildException.jsp</location>
</error-page>
is specified in the web.xml of the application as exceptions are searched in order of appearance regardless if ChildException or ParentException is thrown, the call will be directed to /Customerrors/ParentException.jsp because ChildException is a subclass of ParentException..
Working mapping would be :
<error-page>
<exception-type>test.ChildException</exception-type>
<location>/customerrors/ChildException.jsp</location>
</error-page>
<error-page>
<exception-type>test.ParentException</exception-type>
<location>/customerrors/ParentException.jsp</location>
</error-page>
so you need to switch the declarations in the web.xml (effective on next start of the application).

Personal Web Page Discontinuence
@TwoCables et al Thank you for that information TwoCables, I didn't even notice it until you told me. We can certainly keep our fingers crossed! I apologize to everyone if I was mistaken about our email space allotment, I was going from a post by user madylarian who is normally quite accurate in respoinses.. Here's the thread that I got that figure from. I also thought that I recently read that on a Comcast or Xfinity site recently. Additionally an Internet search shows many links stating 10GB. Now I'm not sure! Darn it all anyway! Early morning tomorrow so I'm off to bed. Here's to wishing a pleasant evening to everyone!

Thank you for your reply TwoCables. The following is the textual content of the email Comcash sent me regarding the closure of the Personal Web Pages. In my email it doesn't say anything about a new service provider. Perhaps they noticed their mistake, retracted (Unsent?) their first email, annotated it and then resent it? The email text follows, starting with the title then heading the body. "Service Update: We're discontinuing Personal Web Pages We're discontinuing personal web pages JOHN DOE, whether you are actively using XFINITY Personal Web Pages or set one up in the past, we want to let you know that we're going to make some changes to this service. As of October 8, 2015, the Personal Web Page (feature of XFINITY Internet) service will be discontinued. By October 8, 2015, you should go into your personal web page and save pictures and anything else that you may have put on your personal web page onto your computer. Once the service is discontinued, you will no longer have access to your web pages and your files will be deleted. We value your business and hope you enjoy all our other XFINITY Internet benefits. Sincerely, Your XFINITY Team"At the very top in difficult-to-notice print (in the darker area, above the white area), there's text that says "Please retrieve all of the content from your site by October 8th", followed by a link that says "Learn more", bringing you to this page: http://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/customize-your-website-or-personal-web-page/?rid=23393686&mid=20150716_CM_PWPService&CCT=53BA3D76CB1473BFF49C79FE4AA86DFF1EE2DE626F409A59AEEF73619D6325CC415B7DE532A8E6E236CF87C3E15B0BF7E3AA330237D1BC6491279BEC6BBC74AF2944FB1F467E9C028828BB59C6042177DF8D45135389EF02F85E1295C661ADF5B300D7FEAA461983BD22903255ECBA37D94F3B664FF1B276DB2C78981E7C31B2E19DE095A8DC6E76 Yeah, whoever created this e-mail has a lot to learn. It took me a long time to finally notice this part of it. I would have put this in the white area, right in the body of the e-mail. How many people actually saw it? 5? Maybe 10 people? I would hope more, but with the way they designed this e-mail message, I wouldn't be surprised if I learned that 95% of people missed it. The major problem is I have businesses who are paying for advertising in my newsletter and they will not accept having a message display first before accessing their site.
Can anyone tell me please WHY this has suddenly occurred. And also what can be done to fix it?

Any way we can force Comcast to -NOT- remove our personal web pages?
Weren't personal web pages in our service agreements? Is anyone filing a class action?
Myst01 wrote:
Weren't personal web pages in our service agreements? Is anyone filing a class action? No, it wasn't in our service agreements. It was a free service that we weren't being charged extra for (it was never listed as an extra charge). It was included, and nowhere did it state that it would always exist or that it couldn't be taken away, etc. Nowhere did it state that Comcast couldn't screw us if they decided that it would be in their best interest. Also, Comcast wouldn't care about a Class Action Lawsuit. The amount of people that are being affected by this are an extremely tiny fraction of 1% of their entire customer base (so, we are far less than 1% of their entire customer base). I mean, we're just a couple hundred people out of millions of customers. Go ahead and ask the average Comcast customer if they even know what this is all about. I bet most people would be like, "What? Are you saying that they're taking away our e-mail? I didn't get any notice about this! OMG!" Sigh. Customers who didn't have files in the PWP space didn't receive a notice on this. They're completely oblivious to what's going on here. So yeah, we are the minority of the minority of the minority (of the minority, etc.). If we assume that 500 people are affected and if we assume that Comcast has exactly 1 million customers, then that would mean that this only affects 0.0005% of their customers. Think about that for a few minutes. This would have to affect hundreds of thousands of their customers for them to even care a LITTLE bit. So, we're screwed. If we filed a Class Action Lawsuit, then Comcast would be like, "Aw, they're so cute. Hey Bob, come take a look at this. Isn't that just about the most adorable thing you've ever seen?" Then Bob would call in the rest of the employees, "Hey guys! You gotta see this! LOL" Then you'd hear a collective, "Aawwww... " and someone might be like, "not even my own baby is that cute!" We're like a tiny insignificant little bug that is no more important than a speck of dust. We practically don't even really exist. If 500 people suddenly cancelled their subscription over this, then Comcast would be like, "LOL Oh noes! hahahahaha So anyway...." That's pretty much how it is. They are just that big. They don't care, and they never will. -
I have been a Comcast customer for decades. And I have used personal web pages most of that time. It has ALWAYS been part of the featires in the contract. But now you blood-sucking beggers are screwing your customer once again taking away a feature that we have assumed was a part of the basic agreement. SHAME ON YOU!!

Hi all,
I played with iWeb for the first time last week when I had some time off work. I do not have .mac so I have to publish via FTP, which is acceptable, although admittedly it would be nice if Apple included built-in publishing to other than .mac sites.
I published a photo page to my church web site (I am the webmaster) with no problem, and everyone is impressed. I created a quick test personal web site with several pages and published to my Bellsouth personal web pages (I am a Bellsouth DSL customer). Via the FTP client (PW FTP X), everything appears to be there with the correct folder structure, but when I browse to any page, all I get is a blank white screen. Just for a test I tried publishing the exact same personal site and pages to my AOL Members Web Space (we use AOL for Email) also using PW FTP X and once I got it all up there (a chore in itself on a Mac) everything worked beautifully. Anyone know what gives with Bellsouth? I have had an Email request in to their tech support for a few days, but have not heard anything back. I would really rather use Bellsouth for my personal site since AOL doesn't fully support FTP from a Mac.
Thanks.
SteveActually, even the Fetch documentation highlights the problems with AOL in that you either have to use Dial-up or OS9 to FTP to their space. See:
http://fetchsoftworks.com/Support/faq5.html#HowConnectAOLFTP
There is a better workaround but it involves reconfiguring your network connections via UNIX terminal commands, which is what I did. See:
http://members.aol.com/adamkb/aol/ftp/macosx.html
It seems to me it would be possible to taylor an FTP client (or even iWeb itself!) to handle the above for AOL.
I will give some thought to listing my URL(s), although I'm not thrilled with the idea of publicly identifying my personal family web space here. I just thought somebody who had dealt with Bellsouth might know of an answer. I have noted that iWeb does generate Java scripts, but Bellsouth's on-line documentation says Java scripts are supported.

Once again less service for more money ~ Personal Web Pages being discontinued!!!
Once again I would like to thank COMCAST for being cheap and money hungry. I use my personal web pages daily. This will create a lot of work and take a lot of time to move thing to another server that I will have to pay for on top of paying for internet service with COMCAST. Way to go. This will only cost me time and money once again. Stop being so cheap!!!! Bob
Yep. I'm extremely angry about this! I have been using the web space for years in order to upload helpful files to other people on Overclock.net such as screenshots, important setup files, important Windows files that someone might have lost, zip files containing a bunch of files that someone desperately needs, etc. etc. etc. That's years of uploading, and so it's years of files! Now that's being stripped away from me. Why? This is 2015, not 1985. It's not hard to provide storage space these days. Good lord. Comcast, are you really hurting for storage space on your servers? You have stolen our money for years, so the least you can do is let us keep our web spaces. I have created 7 different accounts on my Comcast account so that I could have 7 GB of storage space, which I have used quite well over the years. So now I have to sit here downloading ALL OF MY FREAKIN' FILES, and then I have to take them to some other location! Then, I have to go and update hundreds of links on Overclock.net and hundreds of screenshots in hundreds of posts that act as ARTICLES - not just posts. If I don't do that, then I'll have people asking me every single day why my links are broken and why my screenshots aren't showing up. Comcast, you sure know how DISSATISFY your customers I hate you now. I genuinely do. You have ruined my day, Comcast. I was actually having a good day for once, until you sent out the e-mail telling all of us about this.

This problem is in our DEV ICWeb system. After logging in to Web-UI, I got a error message "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible". We have 3 clients (100, 220, & 310) in DEV and all 3 clients are giving me the same error message.

Web page error (spry widget) photo gallery - Help :(
Hi, I am having an error on my website that states:
SpryPanelSet.js requires SpryWidget.js
SpryFadingPanels.js requires SpryPanelSet.js
SpryImageSlideShow.js requires SpryWidget.js
SpryPanelAndZoomPlugin.js requires SpryImageSlideShow.js
I have posted on this error before and no one seems to have an answer for me that works so far.
I had placed the below script in and it had worked for several months but now it is acting up again...
<script src="http://pleysier.com.au/Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryWidget.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
I have even tried replacing the script with other suggested scripts but it is still not working?
It is working in my local server but not in the remote. From what I cant tell, both files in the local and remote server are the same size.
Here is my website:
http://reg.centraldoor.ca/
Thank youIt looks like you are trying to include a copy of "SpryWidget.js" hosted on another person's website. However, it appears that person has removed this file from their server. (If you check the link, it goes to a web page, instead of opening the JavaScript file.)
Recommend that you put a copy of this file on your website, and then update the src attribute in your script tag to point to your own copy of this file.
If you do not already have a copy, you can obtain this file from here: https://github.com/adobe/Spry -

E-mail signup web form - Error message
My index page has a newsletter signup web form. The workflow attached works, but when a user enters their e-mail and clicks "submit" they get an error message. I used a bc gurus template and this is the one thing I cannot find, how to change the link of the submit button or fix the confirmation. url is thesoleconnectionllc.com
I'm stumped, help would be greatly appreciated!!
ThanksIt is a module inserted basic implementation.
It allows for drag and drop ordering which will update the form and any changes and new additions will update the form - which is what is happening in your case.
ID's etc changing have no baring on what is happening.
But what your saying... I am not sure your seeing what your saying. Even in this case I do can not replicate what your doing.
This is a test form:
The ID is - CAT_Custom_19956061
I can edit auto responder, I can add new fields, I can save and update the form in the admin, go into another part of the admin and come back - the ID for this field NEVER changes. The Script ID etc in the html of course updates if I make changes this never changes.
The ONLY way this changes is if I delete and remake the field.
So you need to make a BC support ticket. Your either doing something critical like removing and re-adding the form fields and not stating that here or, for what ever reason on that site only there is an issue.
