Personal web site not showing up.

Problem:
neither web sites appear when using 192.168.2.149 ip addresses.
blah, blah . . . so, after setting the Personal Web Sharing tab, the bottom tells me that I can access the computer web site via http://192.168.149 and my personal web page via http://192.168.2.149/~calbruin.
When opening the links, nothing shows up but the error saying that server is not found.
When I type 127.0.0.1, that gives the generic computer web page (found in Library/Webserver/Documents) alerting me that Apache is installed.
Question is, why does not the 192.168... address work and why not the personal Sites Folder accessible via 192.168....?

The only change was turning off and then turning on the Personal Web Sharing.
Most likely needs this...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Trash this file...
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.sharing.firewall.plist
reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Set up Sharing again.

A couple of times lately I have had web sites not work correctly with Firefox. I need to switch to Safari to complete the tasks I needed to do. My FF is running on Mountain Lion and is up to date.

Hello michaeljt, the sites you have problem, is it with a lot of flash content ?
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Please reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using '''one''' of the following steps:
*Hold down the ''Shift'' key and click the ''Reload'' button with the left mouse key.
OR
*Press ''Ctrl'' + ''F5'' or ''Ctrl'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Windows and Linux)
*Press ''Command'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Mac)

Still unable to Modify my Personal Web Site

Since the modification to Verizon's Website I can not Modify my Personal Web Site.
Pending repair since yesterday at 9:41 eastern time. Three service calls - supposedly this problem was pushed to the top of the Verizon Management team. Tried to check my repair ticket - may not exist? Anyone know anything?

I have the Same Problem. If i try to go to http://sitebuilder.verizon.net I am redirected to a generic Entertainment page: http://entertainment.verizon.com/?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pws If I click on any of Sitebuilder pages in my browser history i just get broken link errors. It is almost as if sitebuilder no longer exists.

Gallery web site not found

I published a 35 photo web gallery I thought successfully, but when I go to the url listed at the top of the photo event folder, I get a web site not found error. The photos did upload to the iDisk in the "sites" folder, but it would apppear no web page was created.. there is a web gallery icon to the right of the photo album name that was uploaded.. I have upgraded my iPhoto with the latest ver via software update.. any thoughts??

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try making some minor change to the gallery and republish. See if that will jump start the online gallery. If that doesn't work, mount the iDisk, go to the Web/Sites folder and delete the contents of the _gallery folder (assuming you only have one gallery). Then republish again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Web page not showing up with template

I have created a web page that looks great when I preview it,
however now that I've put it on the web site, it shows up without
the template and images. I have tried for 3 days to fix this but
I'm at a loss. Can anyone help? p.s. This is the first time I've
used Dreamweaver so please forgive me if I appear totally lost!

IWeb and Comcast personal web site

Has anybody ever used iWeb to post web pages to a Comcast personal web site? I am impressed by what I can make with iWeb, but have completely failed when I try to use it with Comcast. Comcast suggests uploading files by ftp, but I can't find them on the Mac and the posting options in iWeb don't seem to work with Comcast. Any suggestions?

What version of iWeb are you using - iWeb 08 or iWeb 09?
If iWeb 09, then click on the site name on the left hand side and there is a drop down menu with all your publishing options - one of these is publish to MobileMe, then ftp to server and then publish to a local folder.
If you are using iWeb 08, then under file, there will be two options - one being to publish to MobileMe and the other to a local folder.
If you want to upload your files manually, then you would need to select publish to a local fodler and then use Cyberduck to upload your html and css files to Comcast. Cyberduck is a free and dedicated ftp programme.

Flash player download web site not working

After uninstalling flash player, I can't get the web site to reinstall it. I go to the web site click the agree and install now and gos to the next page but nothing pops up like it said it should.

My OS is windows 7 Ultimate. There no Service packs listed Microsoft don't have one for it yet. My brower is Internet explorer 8 version: 8.0.7600.16385. My firewall is not causeing problems and the popup blocker didn't even activate.

What's Happening Web Part not showing number of discussions on Community Site

I have the What's Happening Web Part on the landing page of a community site in SharePoint 2013 Enterprise On-Premises.
The What's Happening Web Part shows number of members and discussion replies correctly, but does not show any discussions.
Any idea of where to start troubleshooting?

1. is there any customization process on this webpart? - No customizations
2. have you try to restart the community feature from the site feature option in site settings? - Not yet. Thanks for the suggestion. This is a Communities Site Collection. All of the other Community features are working. Should I ask the Farm Admin to restart
the communities feature?
3. have you tried to add another what's happening webpart at newdummy site? No I haven't. Great suggestion. Kinda embarresed that I didn't think of this. Must have been tired that day.
4. is there any steps that you did before?, because in my lab box seems the webpart works well. - I tried deleting it from the page and then adding it back, but to no avail. Will try a test site.

Images of personas and themes not showing on getpersonas etc.

When I try to view the personas.com site, the images of the personas do not show up on the web page. (This is not the same problem as not seeing my own persona change to the new one on mouse rollover - that form of previewing does work.) The same thing happens with themes on the themes page. Both sites are whitelisted for "install extensions or themes", and all adblock and ghostery etc turned off for these sites. I have also checked my hosts file - there is no mozilla or getpersonas entry. Sessional cookies allowed.

A setting of 3 for the pref permissions.default.image means that you only allow images from the originating domain and block images from other (third-party) domains.

Personal Web sharing not installed HOW - do I install?

Hi - I have had an extremely frustrating 4 hours or so between trying to google a solution to the problem and examining the contents of the installation disk with pacifist - I am still none the wiser.
I have not tried to set up a localhost server on my Intel Mac running 10.4.9 I have had since september and it should be as easy as pie to do so from what I have read.... but not in my case!
I went to apple > system preferences > sharing and tried to check personal web sharing as suggested in many places but get this for my trouble
'Web Sharing is not installed on this computer. To install Web Sharing, use the Mac OS X installer.'
My question is how do I do so without dausing a reformat and still not getting the option?
I have used pacifist to try and locate either PWS or apache installers inon the disc but sinply am at a loss to find either. Hope someone can help

NOt that I am aware of - I may have tried to do something like launch the apache index page from httpd or similar in the first couple of days of owning the machine but unless by some sure accident I have not altered any settings.... ( I never got into admin settings or any of that from what I remember)
I'm not even looking for PHP or mySQL now - Just a running WS so that I can test CSS in it.
Even so - I still have absolutely no idea where the pws taller is located on the installation disk that I am referred to so therefore am not willing to unstall it for reasons mentioned. I most certainly do not want a reinstall for the sake of a little but in my case neccessary application
Good point Gnarlodious - like to hear what angle you are coming from on this (particularly if you can help me get this sorted out from the disk as Apple suggest. Much as I love my conversion to apple I have to say the documentation and overall support from the site is appalling (I thought Microsoft was bad......). Instructions such as that encountered on the PWS toggle are vague to say the very least

Web App not showing in Portal Preview

We are running two web apps (Wordpress sites zebraWP and zms) under our subscription at Azure. They both show under the old management portal but only one shows in the new portal. Reading through a previous question, I went to resources.azure.com and
the site (zebraWP) that is not showing shows Error: 'Resource not found'
The website otherwise appears to function normally.
I am not sure how to correct this. I have a nice example of what should be there from the other site but am reluctant to try to edit anything myself.

You can work around by using resources.azure.com to create the site with the same name (zebraWP). Make sure you put the matching location and serverFarm with the origin site. For instance, location "West US" and serverFarmName
"DefaultServcerFarm". See if it helps.

Why is my web site not pulling up in fire fox???????????????????

My weebly, what i used to design my web site / domain's, www.idckotao.com are not popping up in fire fox.. In fact the help stuff is useless as I do not have a fire fox button it now goes into this stupid fekking full screen mode after the last dumb ass update.
I am wondering of this is just my computer my web site is not showing up on or every one's who uses fire fox.

You can switch Firefox's full screen mode off using:
* F11 function key
* slide mouse pointer to the top of the window > right-click > Exit Full-Screen Mode
If the full screen is generated by a plugin such as Flash, press the Esc key to return to normal.
If all else fails, press Ctrl+n to open a new window, which should be a normal window.
Now, about your site. I can see it on Windows 7, and the top buttons work and some of the home page buttons work.
Hopefully the steps suggested by cor-el will help you. You also may need to delete your cookies for the site (either for your domain or for the editor domain, if it's different). Save any pending work first.
While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
