    Hi Robert,
Our team is well aware of the problem with WLCS 2.0 and WLS SP3 that shows
up when using the MyBuyBeans demo.
We are looking into this problem in engineering and we will post any
solution(s) once we figure out the offending issue.
    Thanks.

means that WLCS cannot find the correct service pack files for WLS 5.10. Might check
to see if the WLS 5.10 SP6 files (weblogic510sp6.jar and weblogic510s6boot.jar) are
    located in d:\weblogic\lib.

  • Weblogic Commerce and Personalisation Server

The Company I am working for just purchased both Commerce and personalisation server
as they wish to revamp their current
    website into a modern one.
I have a few questions as I have been doing some portal creation with the personlization
    server.
How does the Personalisation server connect with the commerce server?. The Company
I am working for has been
bought by anither company in the States and this US based company has bought three
other companies as well. I created Portals for these five companies in the commerce
server and added or changed the respectie images within the company folder.
When the users now log on the the coporate website, and wiish to be directed to
their Companys implementation to their own website, do we have
to create other folders or commerce server portlets for the different companies?
I am relatively new to Weblogic 6.0 as I used 5.1 in the past any help would be
    appreciated with diagrams if possible
    Thanx

    Bola,
    You've posed two questions here:
    1. How does Commerce and Personalization servers relate?
Think of the product offerings as a stack. Personalization Server (WLPS) is built
on Weblogic Server (WLS). Commerce Server (WLCS) is built on WLPS. Campaign Manager
    is built on WLCS.
What this means is that if you have a WLCS license, you have WLCS and WLPS. WLCS
depends and extensively uses WLPS. If you spend some time with the WLCS templates
(the hardware store demo) and the APIs, hopefully this will become apparent.
    2. Do we have to create different portals/portlets for the different companies?
One way to solve your problem would be to have 5 different portals. This might
make sense if the companies are completely separate from each other. But if users
need access to resources across the companies, you probably want to create 1 portal,
and then have company specific portlets.
Its really hard to generalize here. You might want to engage a BEA sales engineer
to help you scope out what you need. The product is a generic solution, but the
application of the product is highly customizable to your needs.
Sorry for being so generic, but its really hard to elaborate further.
http://e-docs.bea.com is a good place to get more info.

  • Commerce Server and Visual Age 3.5

I tried and was unsuccessful getting the Commerce server (3.11) to run
under Visual Age 3.5. I can get it to start up correctly, but if I test
a commerce application, Visual Age disappears with no messages. From
my experiments, I think it is a problem with a conflict between versions
of the CORBA or javax components that cannot be loaded into VA from the
    weblogic distribution (because they are 'required by the system' in VA;
no workaround I know of to get them in there). Another constraint is
that you must use the weblogic.Server class from the Weblogic VA
Integration Kit; perhaps it is incompatible.
So, has anybody got a commerce application to appear running the
weblogic commerce server under visual age 3.5?
Note that I did get the plain weblogic server 5.1.0 running with thte VA
integration kit, and I can get the commerce server to startup correctly.

    Bryan,
I have succesfully used Kawa 5.x Enterprise (Beta) with WLCS. You should
check it out if you are interested in a more "standards" based solution for
    the Windows platform.

  • Relation between Weblogic Commerce Server and Documentum

hi all,Where is usage of Weblogic Commerce server in relation with Documentum? we are already using weblogic 5.1 Appln server. Thanks in advanceGopi

    Hi Gopinath,
Documentum is one of the 11 vendors who currently provide an
adapter for use with the WebLogic Personalization Server, which
is the basis for the WebLogic Commerce Server. This integration
is via an SPI (Service Provider Interface) that makes all CM
systems appear to be the same to WLPS/WLCS users.

  • Is it possible to use commerce server with netscape webserver and weblogic app server

    Hello,
We want to use Netscape webserver using NSAPI plug-in with WLS 5.1.
In this scenario can we get full functionality of Weblogic Commerce server
2.0.1 if we wnat to use above setup.
    This is urgent please.
    surya

    Surya,
The NSAPI plug-in with WLS 5.1 should not adversely affect the way the
Commerce Server works. Although this platform is not 'certified', the product
is J2EE compliant and should work without error.
    Hope this helps!

  • WL commerce server 3.2 installation

    Hi,
I am using WebGaing Studio 4.1, meaning that I have WL 5.1.0 SP7, on an
    NT4SP4 workstation.
Following the readme, I have downgraded my WL installation to WL5.1.0SP6. As
well, I have installed Sun HotSpot server VM.
However, when trying to install the soft, I only have the installanywhere
screen, which stops without raising an error. But I don't have anything
else, even the red splash screen.
The only remaining difference being in the NT service pack (SP5
recommended), is it the issue or did i missed something?

    Hi Doina,
WLCS/WLPS 3.2 requires a minimum of 128 MB of RAM; more is recommended.
You're running with less than the minimum requirement, which will make it
    very slow.
Also, when you first run one of the sample applications the JSPs will need
to be compiled. This causes the first invocation of each page to be slow.

  • How many SysAdmins to manage Commerce Server?

    Hallo out there,
We are still in the development phase of our Commerce Server 2.0 solution and now need to do some planning for operations.
When in production running WLS Cluster Edition (on 2 Solaris boxes), Commerce Server & Personalization Server, how many system administrators would it take to keep it running (i.e. installation of updates, hotfixes, service packs, log mgmt, cluster configuration, performance/optimizing, etc.)?
Best guess and experience much appreciated!

  • I want to remove the COnlineBank, OnlineBank and csample applications from my application and web server.

How can I safely do this on Solaris? I've tried "iasdeploy removeapp" and "iasdeploy removemodule" with no luck. I want to clear all of this demo stuff out to make both the web and app server look more production like.
    Thanks
    Eric

    Eric,
these applications are applogics which are not controlled by the
iasdeploy tool. Unfortunately, there is no tool available to remove
these applications for you. What you can do is to manually remove all
their entries, but be careful if you do that. If you remove the wrong
keys you might break your ias installation, so be warned and make sure
you backup the whole ias registry before attempting to remove anything.

  • P13N Server and App Server on separate systems - strange ports opened

    Hi -
We have a configuration using WebLogic Personalization Server 3.1.1 on one
server and WebLogic Application Server 5.1 w/Service Pack 6 on another
server. What we've seen with our firewall configuration is that it appears
there are high-number random ports opened occasionally from the App Server
to the P13N Server, which d not appear to be related to connection attempts
(ex: port 42100). The only communication that we know should be happening
between the two systems are T3-based JNDI lookups, LDAP lookup/update
requests, and SQL queries. My questions, then, are as follows:
              1) In handling JNDI requests, are there any callbacks that can occur between
the two servers in this configuration on a different port?
              2) When separating the P13N Server and App Server, are there any "private"
ports opened between the two systems for management? As far as I know, the
App Server should simply view the P13N Server as another client, but the
firewall log would indicate that something is going on related to this.
If anyone has a similar config and can provide some info related to
potentially unseen port connections, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
              Andy

  • ORA-24327 error when trying to configure Oracle JDriver 2.0 on Commerce Server 3.5 SP1 on WLServer 6.0 SP2

When I try to install and configure the Oracle JDriver v.2.0 to work with Commerce
Server 3.5 SP1 and WebLogic Server 6.0 SP2, on starting up the commerce server,
I get the exceptions that follow this message. I cannot run the dbping utility
because it says it cannot find the BEA license file to verify that JDriver is
licensed for use. I looked over previous discussion threads on this particular
Oracle error, and the problem in the previous cases appears to have been use of
the wrong TNS name. I am referencing the same TNS name that is in my server's
tnsnames.ora file. I can connect to the database using SQLNet and the same connection
parameters that I have set up in weblogic. My Oracle home directory is set to
the directory just above the client install. I am trying to configure Commerce
Server on a Sun SPARC system running Solaris 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jon Morgan
