Personalization of page

Hi All
my requirement is like, i need to personalize the page for user specific.
eg: one page contains 10 iviews out of which end user wants only 6 iviews to be visible remainings are in
invisible mode, in relogin also only 6 iviews to be appear to that user only ,for other users what they personalized,it should appear that only.
How to do it, your response will be appreciated.

Hi Srikanth,
You can provide the properties "Remove", "Invisible" and "personalize" available.set them to yes for the page and the iview within that page.
so that users can personalize/hide /remove the iviews and page as they want.
and the personalization will be user specific..

Dropdown , picklists may not refresh even if you add values to the tables it is querying, as the picklist could have been configured to cache values.2. How to change the oracle bill management logo in the top with another logo?

Personalize Web Page Functionality not working

Hi,
When we personalize a web page it creates a bookmark id in the ODS 0PERS_WTE. The only problem is when we reaccess the web page we do not get the bookmark, but we end up getting the query the way it was originally. We have the template set for personalization!
Can anyone help? We really think the page should come up the way we set it when we selected "Personalize web Page" in the context menu...

Never mind.. You just add "USE_PERSONALIZATION=X" to the URL...

It seems that everyone is trying to help but lacks some vital information such as:
1) Is your web page on the Internet or on a local area network?
2) If it is on the internet, can you provide a link so we can take a look and see what might have gone wrong?
3) If not, how did you get your web page up so that other people can access it.
Essentially, the xls file that you're referring to shoud be in the same location as the html file if it is on the internet but this is not mandatory since you can create a link that lets the user download anything from anywhere on the internet -- as long as the file is there somewhere.
If you're on a local area network, the fact that the xls file is on the same computer doesn't mean that it's downloadable. For example, if you use MicroSoft Personal Web Server, your html file is avaible to other people on the network only if you have it copied over to the designated sub-directory of Inetpub and the xls file has to be copied there as well.
So......to make a long story short, give us more info!

Page personalization without page title bar

Hello,
we have removed our page title bar in order to save space.
Is there any way to still personalize a page, e.g. through a direct URL to the personalization of a given page, or do I have to enable the page title bar again?

I imagine it might be possible if you...
1. Take the relevant code from the Page Title Bar iView (which does not have the source code - I will leave it up to you how you want to "get" the source - not sure of SAP's stance on decompiling).
2. Then create a java iView with the relevant code in it that will perform the personalize functionality. Add a link in the page to launch the personalize function. This link will launch the "personalize" page/code (you will see this in the JAR). You can heavily leverage the existing code. FYI, the iView utilizes the abstract portal component instead of a JSP page. If you are not used to using these, it may be a little confusing at first.
3. Add this iView to a page; then save the page as a template. Then use the template for all of your pages.
It might take a some effort to make it work with the page. I just don't know. In the default way it works, the page title bar iview is outside the page that it relates to. The option I am suggesting, the iview is within the page.
I haven't done this, but I have created my own page title bar iview so I could add an additional hyperlink in it. When I added it to the framework page, the back and forward links would not enable/work unless I added it above the already-existing page titlebar iView (in the layout), or removed the already-existing iView. I did not end up using the modified iView, so I never took the time to figure out why.
Now that I think about this, the above option would probably "push" down your content visually anyway(thus you lose space) unless you move it to Dynamic Navigation instead of the page template, so it may be better just to add back the original iview to the framework page.

11.5.10.2 - How to personalize Confirmation page of Forgot Password link

We have implemented the Forgot Password functionality in our 11.5.10.2 system. We need to personalize the Confirmation screen message.
How do we personalize the following message:
"An email has been sent to the email address on file. Contact the system administrator if you do not receive your password within the next few hours."
Reason:
Our help desk is getting calls from our users because they think that they will have to wait for a few hours to receive their temporary password. Our goal was to eliminate calls to our help desk regarding forgotten passwords but this message is causing more calls than necessary.
We need to change the message to read as follows:
"An email has been sent to the email address on file. You should receive the email within a few minutes. Please contact the Support Center if you do not receive your password within an hour."
I have accessed the CommonMessagePG that appears to control the Confirmation screen (/oracle/apps/fnd/umx/util/webui/CommonMessagePG) but I cannot find where to change the actual text of the message.
Any advice?

Try this:
Go to "Application Developer" responsibility
Select "Messages" from the menu
Query the message name and then enter your message text in the "Current Message Text" field
Save changes and exit
Clear cache and bounce Apache to see the change.

Forms Personalizations- Tab Page Change

Hello all,
Is there a way to use Forms Personaizations to activate a specific TAB page in a block in Forms (EBS 11i10 or 12)? Sometimes a block spans across multiple tab pages and even the focus is on a specific field, the corresponding tab page does not open.
Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to accomplsish this. If there is a different forum for Forms Personalizations, please let me know so I can repost the question there.

Can a library item be used to personalize a page title?

In that case, you should have your <title> tags within a Template Editable Region so you can use a unique title on every page.
In addition, you should make good use of Heading tags <h1> <h2> and <h3> within editable regions to promote keyword rich content that tells search engines & humans what your pages are about.

Personalization Launch Pages

I am using Oracle HRMS SS modules like iRec, Appraisals, OTL and SSHR. I was going through the OA personalization guide and found we can have two kind of personalization options:
1. Page Layout Personalization
2. Page Hierarchy Personalization
But in all of the above modules I am not able to see Page Layout Personalization. Is there any profile option we need to enable to see Layout personalization page or for all above modules pages are not configured for that feature.

If you are seeing either of those options for all pages, then its fine. Based on page structure, only either one of those will be available.
Unless the page you are working on is a configurable page, you won't see the page layout personalization. A configurable page is a page designed with personalizable layout components called flexible layout regions and self-contained content components called flexible content regions. These flexible regions support a more graphical approach to rearranging the layout and visibility of page content.

Personalization - Notification Page

Hi,
I am aware of doing personalization in the notification page by setting the profile option "FND: Personalization Link Enabled" to "Yes".
I have completed personalization in all the pages except the notification page (Approve or Reject) page. Only this page personalization is pending in the production instance, (i.e. second higher manager gets this notification). But, the client wanted to move the personalization from our test instance to production instance only for this notification page automatically.
Is it possible to move the personalization (only in notification page) from the test instance to production instance automatically?

What kind of change you have done in notification page?
Notification pages are workflow pages, if you want to customize anything in notification page then you need to customize the workflow.

My personalize home page is not working...

1) When I go to personalize it I want to add the widget "my discussions" so I can follow mine. It just has popular and recent ones which dont interest me. Plus, if I click on "Your stuff" then choose discussions, its supposssed to be my discussions, but its empty and I have at least one I started and one I replied on.
2) I also can't choose the widget legend that has the checkmark and X to communicate if your question has been answered. I think that is a great tool but not sure how to add it. In fact, my post was answered but I couldn't check that.
I do like the new forum's direction and hope that when they get to it, these isssues will be resolved.

You could try adding an RSS feed to your personalized homepage. You need to drag the RSS widget onto your personalized page, and then add the URL for your own member RSS feed. The syntax for this feed is: http://forums.adobe.com/community/feeds/allcontent?targetUser=<insert_screen_name_here>

There is supposed to be a "Watch a User" widget as well but we had to take it out of the palette of available widgets because there was a small bug in it. This will be available again soon!
With regards to marking a reply as helpful or answered, there should be a link to do that on the individual post itself, not within the legend. You can mark one post as "answer" and two as "helpful".

Personalize the home page for every user.

Dear CRM guru's,
I would like to personalize the home page for all users by hiding some of the sections(My open tasks and Alerts). I don't want the users to enable these 2 sections when they try to personalize the page. Can you please suggest me how I can achieve this.

This is very easy. The homepage is another view in an application component.
For the sales home page, you would go to application WCC_SLS_HOME and configure the view WCC_SLS_HOME/SalesHome.
You can then restrict what applications show up on that home page.
You just need to find out what "home" application your role is using and configure that one accordingly. Most follow the WCC_*_HOME pattern.

Page personalization - Use limited set of iViews to choose from

Hi,
I have the following requirement:
We want users to have a single page they can personalize, by providing them a selection of iViews.
Normally when you are presented the Personalize Page window, you see all the folders and content the user has access to, due to his/her role assignment
However, we want to display only a subset of the user's role content by providing only a single folder with all content to choose from to personalize this page
Is there a way to hide folders and content the user normally has access to (since it is visible through the non-personalizable pages) and only display a folder and it's content in the pcd browser?

The user also has end-user access to other iViews/pages etc since otherwise he would not be able to see them on other portal pages
However, I want just a dedicated set of iViews, analog to the EP5 'channel' concept
Is there a way to mimic this behaviour?
