Personalization Question

We created an message, but unable to have it work only if the item on the receipt line is different from the DFF. In other words we have an item being purchased but its not going to have the name on the receipt. So we created and flexfield. but the receiver need to see the flexfield in order to receive the product. so we created and message, the catch is that we only want it to show when someone uses the flexfield on the PO line. can u assist

Any default value setup done through the controller code overrides the personaliztion defaulting. Hence you can find the defaulting code in the page controller and to fulfil your requirement, extension is the only option.

    I have a question re: personalization.
    I have created a special menu option within the 'Define Requisitions and Vacancies' form which will bring up an option in the 'Tools' menu to bring up the 'Define Positions' form.
    I have this working well.
    However what I really need it to do is pass the current position from the Define Requisitions and Vacancies form into the Position form so that it automatically brings up the position details for that position.
    Could anyone let me know how I would do this?

    Message: I get an error FRM-92101:There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup. This could happen due to invalid configuration. Please look into the web-server log file for details.
    But, I tried Zoom functionality..its works fine.. the prob is, Client want it to call automatically after saving data in the form.

    How do you define "anyone" ? You can turn off the personalization profile to get rid of this option but again anyone can turn on the profile and use it. Also controller level changes can override it.

  • VO Personalization question

    We have a VO that is based on EO.
    VO selects only specific number of fields.
    We want to couple of more fields (MessageTextInput) using personalization.
    We can achive the same by extending VO and adding fields by personalizing
    I have a doubt here, will extended VO be linked to EO?
    i.e. will EO understand new fields added using personalization and commit them into Data Base?

    You should be able to to this and the new EO based attributes should also get updated to the database. Since the new substituted VO extends the existing VO, the reference to the underlying EO still exists.

    Hi,
    If not using personalization, below is an alternate approach, if all that you require is a DFF having pick-list :
    In the DFF insert/update screen (in Oracle Apps), give a relevant Value-Set for the segment(s), if applicable.
    This will give you a piclist or a drop-down list (based on this value-set) for the flex item in the OAF page.

  • Missing the Personalizations while uploading from 11i to R12

    I am working on the Upgrade project . We are upgrading the Oracle applications from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.2 . So i am uploading the all personalizations from 11i to R12.
    I created the ldt file from 11i and and tried to upload in R12. But some of the functions are missed in R12 so the Count is not matched as per the 11i personalizations. I checked in the meta link and they suggested the patch p9446215_R12.FND.B_R12_GENERIC.Zip for R12.
    So i tried with latest lct file which is provided with patch also i am missing some data after uploading in the R12. when i check the log file after uploading the data, it is throwing some error. I am mentioning the error below.
    I tried to Upload form level as well as Function level. In both ways count of personalizations are not matched.

    We have a requirement on form personalization to add menu option under 'Tools' in Service Request form (Field Service).
    The option should be enable only when INCIDENT NUMBER contains any value. Else it should be disable in nature.

    I'm new to form prsonnalization and dont have much knoweldge on this.
    Can any one help me in personalization of a form where a single field in a form needs be edited or changed by single user only and for the rest it should be in read only mode.
    And i got to do this without using "custom.pll"

  • 8230 Flip - want it to make a sound when I open it and close it.

    This is purely a personalization question, but the last clamshell phone I owned was Windows-based and I was able to customize the sounds that it made when I opened it and closed it.  Pretty minor and geeky, but I loved having it make the old school Star Trek communicator sound when I flipped it open..."Kirk here".  This phone is light years ahead of my old Windows phone, so I figured it should have this feature.  Does anyone know how to assign sounds to these actions?

  • Data Grid Counts

    Hi,
    We are using the jtf_grid_property.ROW_COUNT to retrieve the number of rows returned in the grid from a query.
    Unfortunately it only retrieves the first 100 rows.
    Is there is a way of retrieving more than the default 100 rows (and not executing the query twice) ?

  • How to personalize the content users see with a set of questions/answers?

    Hi
    I have built my website using dreamweaver CS5.5 and would like users to be able to personalize the content that is displayed. Users will first see a page with three questions. Once they have answered the questions, they should then click 'submit' and be transferred to the site with the information most relevant to them, depending on the answers they gave to the questions.
    I know how to create froms and the questions with radio buttons, but I cannot figure out how to make the 'Submit' button link to different sites depending on the answers that users have given.I guess this will need some kind of if/then rule in JavaScript that is then linked to the 'Submit' button? I am really not sure how to best do this.
    (Note: there is no need for the answers to the survey to be saved as data anywhere if that makes life easier)
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    The sets of answers that correspond to a page is made up of "home_" and then the 'value' of the answers divided by underscores. So for example if someone answers Q1 with BRCA1, Q2 with noBC and Q3 with u35, the page that would link to is called home_BRCA1_noBC_u35.html

    I got the MailAdapter working, but how do I prevent the Portal
    from displaying the Password Input-parameter when entered in the
    Form? Shouldn't there be an additional paramter (besides Format)
    saying type=text/password (WML1.1)?
    How do I remove the "Register here" stuff in the Pers. Portal,
    i.e. how do I prevent anybody coming to that site from creating

    I don't know samples online, but yes - it is possible.
    On the portal you have an Administration link. There you have
    Schema Management where you can create new object (for example - "Position"). After you create object and add some attribute bindings here, you can add a new attribute "Position" that is "reference" type.
    Then you can modify user's RCDC to view also this reference attribute and an MPR to let some users edit this field.

  • Questions on Import/Export Personalizations

    Hi,
    We are on 11.5.10 CU3. We have dozens of personalizations in Dev. I understand that Functional Administrator Import/Export tool can be used to transfer them from Dev to production. I am facing some issues when I try that.
    1. I exported a personalization in Dev to the same instance java/custom. It created the directory structure java/custom..../site/0/ReqSummaryPG.
    2. I imported it back. This was successful.
    3. I re-imported it. It failed without an explanation for the failure. What could be the reason? Doesn't it just overrite the previous import - like when importing substituions?
    4. I copied the custom/..../site/0 to another instance and imported it there. It was successful. However I could not see the personalizations.
    5. So I checked. I realized that the directory structure was wrong. It was java/custom/apps/..../site/0
    instead of java/custom/oracle/apps/..../site/0.
    6. So I corrected the directories and re-imported. Failure like 3 above. I thought it was because of duplicate records. So i did the query select * from jdr_paths where PATH_NAME like '%ReqSummaryPG%'. I got only one record which was the seeded record. So eventhough 4 was successful there is only one record. Why?
    Do I have to bounce Apache for each separate import of the same document?
    Is there documentation on this utility with best practices? I see in the forum that no-one could successfully make this utility work.
    Any help would be appreciated. I thought this was a simple utility ...

    Well this worked the next day! I reimported ReqSummaryPG again and it worked. I believe a few Apache bounces took place inbetween.
    We were able to export/import quite a few personalizations. However, we got it right the first time this time around
    I am still interested in knowing why a second consecutive import of the same doc doesn't work? And how to make it work? This would help in resolving issues in case of mishaps. Appreciate it if someone can provide an explanation.
