Personalize link - user language

Hello,
I need to allow user to change the language of the portal
They have the personalize link but the fields cannot be modified (it is locked)
What is the parameter to be changed to allow the user to modify the language ?
(i already have eu_role, eu_core_role, super_admin roles)

I already have UME.Manage_My_Profile in these roles.
and it is EP 7 so the provided link is not relevant

User Mapping through Personalize link

Hi,
I have a question.
When I click on the Personalize link, and go to User Mapping, I am selecting a system (alias) e.g: NPDCLNT000. Next, I enter the user and pass for this and click on save.
But, upon clicking on save, my user and pass simply vanish from the page.
The system still remains NPDCLNT000.
Is this normal, to be not able to see what user has been used for mapping?

Hi Shitij,
no it is not normal that the entered data vanish after hitting the save button. Just to make sure I tested this on my local installation (SAP NW 7.0 SPS 11). The entered values are still displayed after I hit the save button.
What version is your system?

End user personalization link is not working

Dear all
If i click on Personalization link for end user..its not working? nothing is displaying
Kindly suggest me what is the problem.
For my user who is having super admin role..it is working.

if i attach eu_role to the enduser...entire home tab is displaying..
Pl let me know how do i prevent this..
Do i need to modify the Home tab..i mean do i hide the home tab. b'z i dont want to give that all options ompany, work, teams and portal info...etc..

Personalize link is missing

we are having ep6.0 sp12, and when i login, i am not able to see the personalize link in the mast head view where i can set up the portal theme/portal language/ workprotect mode etc...
I logged in as a super adminstrator..will it not come by default..
at the moment i am having only Help and LogOff and i expect "Personalize" link in between them
any help is appreciated

I enabled the option show personalize link in the masthead iview provided content provided by sap --> admin interfaces --> admin iview templates
and
went to content administration->portal content->content provided by sap->end user content->standard portal users->worksets->portal personalization
and edited the permissions on this object to
adminstrator: None
end user : enabled
but i am not able to see the link when i login. I am able to see the that link only when i assign eu_role to the user that i am logging in, but it brings other worksets and iviews, which i dont want to.
could you please help me in this regard

Personalize link does not work without proper authorization

Hello!
I have an issue in the CRM 7 web ui and the Personalize link in the header.
We have removed all "unecesary" authorizations and now the users can not get the personalize page. When they click the link they don't get any new page, they get the same page they had before clicking on the link.
We are also missing the Manage Reports menu entry for the user, the link is enabled in Nav bar profile and visable in SPRO.
If I give the user SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW, the link works........
The trace in ST01 doesn't provide any useful info....
All auth. objects are green and ok
There is nothing in the logs or any of the trace files.....
Has anyone encountered this before in CRM 7 or CRM 2007?

Cannot view personalize link in the portal header

I cannot see the personalize link in the portal header of the BI portal. I have already verified the two things below:
1) personalize link is enabled in masthead iview through portal content->portal users->standard portal users->default frame work page-> select masthead-> open its properties->enable *Show Link in Masthead: Personalize *
2) The end user role is assigned under content administration->portal content->content provided by sap->end user content->standard portal users->worksets->portal personalization.
What else can i check, please help. I need this for end users to carry out user mapping. Or any other way they can carry out user mapping ?

He can see the masthead property Show link in Masthead: Personalize so I doubt you need to make any changes to the PAR file for masthead.

Add to portal favorites works only in User-language english

Hi,
i've got a litte problem with the funktion "add to portal favorites".
We use our portal to publish BW-Reports (BW7.0). Our development-language is english.
Both system (BW and EP) are configured in english.
In the portal (EP 7.0) we have the problem, that the "add to portal favorites" funktion works fine when the user-language is english. When the user-language is german only a few iviews can be added to the favorites....
Does anyone have an idee where my bug is?

Try this.
Change the iView properties, these forces all BI reports to fire in EN,
The setting in the iView of Application Parameters and set this to u201CLanguage=ENu201D.Then this Overrides the local setting of the Portal and forces a BW report to fire in EN.

Personalize link doesn´t work

Hi Everybody,
I´m getting an access denied error when I click on the Personalize link in the portal masthead iview. This is what I did:
1) I copied the eu_core_role.
2) I copied the personalize workset.
3) I deleted the home content in the new eu_core_role.
4) I assigned the new personalize workset to the new eu_core_role as a delta link.
5) I assigned the new eu_core_role to users and user groups.
6) I checked the end user permissions for these users and user groups.
After these steps, the link doesn´t work.
We´re on Netweaver Portal SP14.
I tested the Personalize link with the portal URL fully qualified (DNS) and not fully qualified (just hostname).
Can somebody help me?

Another question:
After I assigned the new eu_core_role to users and user groups, the tool area search doesn´t work. It shows an access denied error, too. This error seams to be related to changes on eu_role, isn´t it?
The tool area search and the Personalize link only work with administrators (users with admin roles).

Strangest thing! Masthead doesn't display Personalize link.

I have enable "Show Link in Masthead: Personalize" option in my masthead iview, but "Personalize" link is NOT displayed. The strangest thing is because when i see generated html source code (right click in browser >> view source) is IS there.
The HeaderiView.jsp code is default:

In my browser, when i select all page (browser menu: edit >> select all) copy and paste into a notepad, it IS there. But I can't see it in the browser neither navigate through the link (via tab and shift+tab).

Hi Raphael,
actually there is a check to see if a special workset is assigned to the actual user. If the user has a role containing the personalization workset (for example the eu_role), the link is displayed.

Personalize link on SSHR Benefits page missing

Hi.
I was hoping someone may have seen this behaviour and can help.
Navigation: Employee Self Service > Benefits
Unexpectedly, there is no sign of the Personalize link. It is seen on other pages.
Same result on multiple browsers.
Profile Options:
a. FND: Personalization Region Link Enabled = Yes (site and user levels)
b. FND: Personalization WYSIWYG Enabled = Yes (site)
c. HR: Enable User Personalization = Yes (site)
d. Personalize Self-Service Defn = Yes for some responsibilities and users (inc. Employee Self Service resp.) and No for others. Not set at Site level.
e. Disable self service personalisation set = No at site level (setting to Yes also has no effect)

Just to eliminate all the possibilities, set this also at site level and test.
Also check with pages from applications other than SSHR and confirm the behavior.

Struts Portlet Personalize Link

I have a struts app that I have deployed as a portlet using the PDK struts tags/libs/etc..
I'm trying to figure out, how to write custom code to allow users to click the "Personalize" link and specify some customization parameters for the portlet.
I have seen a way to do this based on a JDeveloper example. However, the JDeveloper example is just a single JSP which handles everything (i.e. request, etc..) instead of calling a controller (i.e. a struts app).
I've found that I can specify one of my actions in the provider.xml, which will allow me to call my struts action, prepopulate the page with data, and then forward to a JSP. However, when I forward to my JSP, it is within the context of the Personalize page itself, which already has an HTML form. So, I can't create my own custom HTML form and don't have control over the whole page. Also, with the form that is generated, there are Apply, Ok, and Cancel buttons.
I really want to have control over the entire page. Is this possible? I can't see a way to eliminate the surrounding form.

ESS: InvalidUrlRuntimeException depend on the user language !?!

I've a strange behaviour apparently related to the user language:
- all the ESS JCO connection are set-up with SSO;
- with an EN user everithing is OK;
- with an EN IT language I get an InvalidUrlRuntimeException when I use
"My Trips and Expenses" link.
This link point to an EP ROLE://.... an it seems correct.
If I take the complete URL reported in the error I can show the correct WebDynpro without any errors.
Another strange think is that some services in the sub-area are not dispalied, only with a differen language than EN.

Problem with personalize link in masterhead

Hi All,
I need to activate the personalize link in the masterhead of my theme.
I had tried doing it from my masterhead iview properties "Show Link in Masterhead: Personalize" to "Yes". But, could not succeed. The link does not displayed.
Even, i tried with assinging eu_role to my user. Still not showing.
and i can view the link in default theme.
What might be the problem with my theme...
Any help will be appreciated.

I guess u r checking the wrong masthead iview. Just open u r desktop on which u want to see the personalize option.
Now it would contain a default page and theme , Open tht page and check it would contain a masthead iview . Select it and check the property window of this ivew . Now Check for the "Show Link in Masterhead: Personalize" property.
Please set it to Yes.

Personalize link not visible in MastHead area..

Hi Peter,
check the masthead par file....and enable the personalize link in the par file....
then deploye it again to the potal server
and add this par file to the standard user role under the content provided by sap....
now log off and log in again.......
