Personlization:Set UNIT COST field in Miscellaneous Transaction as Required

Hi,
In Oracle APPS 11i Inventory module I want to set the UNIT COST field in the miscellaneous transaction as required.
I have placed the cursor in the field and went to Help > Diagnostics > Examine.
Block: MTL_TRX_LINE
Field:TRANSACTION_COST_DISPLAY
Next went to Help -> Diagnostics -> Custom Code -> Personalize:
Trigger Event: WHEN_NEW_FORM_INSTANCE
Context LEVEL USER: MINE
Actions tab. target object is MTL_TRX_LINE.TRANSACTION_COST_DISPLAY which we had checked above.. I set the REQUIRED property to TRUE. Save
When I go back to the form the field is required and the changes are affected.
But, Once I close the form and reopen it I find the field reuired property is reset to FALSE.
Can someone please tell me what's wrong exactly?

Hi all,
Can we pass the value in a input field of a standard transaction calling from WD application. Suppose we are calling a transaction VA03 in an external window, then how will be pass the value in the VBAK_VBELN screen field.
Is there any way to pass the value to this transaction field. I have also tried out to set the parameter ID 'AUN' for VA03 transaction VBELN field. But it did not work for me.
Is there any way to set the default field value to transaction code field, when calling from WD?
Please suggest, if anyone have any idea.

Setting name for field NAME4 in transaction FD01/FD02

Hello,
in the transaction FD01 or FD02 on the first tabstrip (Address) there are four fields named NAME1, NAME2, NAME3, NAME4. The name of that field is however taken from another place (it is structure ADDR1_KEYW).
Do you know how to change this name (textlabel) for these fields?

Unit Cost greyed out in Miscellaneous transactions

We are using Miscellaneous Transactions to receive a rebuildable item into an Expense Subinventory. However, we see the Unit Cost field is greyed out.
Subinventory is quantity tracked and profile option INV: Transfer Expense to Asset is Yes.

Can't check second part (new transaction run with a variant) as per constrains in my system. Running a new tcode with a variant worked for me in the past.
Unfortunately it doesn't work here in VF04. Even if we create new transaction with VF04's program system doesn't allow to enter our customized variant. It only allows one standard variant and we cant make changes in that standard variant. After checking all these possibilities I suggested to go for ABAP
PS: This logic worked for me in past in other transactions but VF04's behaviour is quit different.

MTL MATERIAL TRANSACTIONS having zero unit cost

Hi All,
For some of the POs, we are getting zero unit cost in the Receiving Account, but rest of the POs are working fine and correct data is populated.
This is not with any particular Org as well. Any idea what can be the reason so that the cost will be zero in there.
I am new to costing/Finance module, so please let me know if I am not making sense or missing any information that will be important to get the solution.

What is your costing method in that organization? Can you please check the price in the PO for that item which is giving you this issue?
This can happen: If your price in the PO is Zero and you are using any costing method when you receive this is what happens:
Cr Accrual Account @Po Price
Dr Receiving Account @Po Price (could be Zero)
When you deliver to Inventory depending on the costing method value will change:
In std costing
Cr Receiving @ po price (zero)
Cr Purchase Price Variance @st cost
Dr Inventory @ std cost
In avg costing
Cr Receiving cost @ Po Price
Dr Inventory @ po price
But the cost will be recalculated as
(onhand qty*current cost+po qty*po_price)/(onhand_qty+po_qty). So if the cost was 100 and onhand was 1 and if the po qty is 1 and po price is Zero cost will become 50.

Change unit cost AP Invoice line based from a Goods Receipt PO base entry

Im using SAP B1 2007A PL 46 with B1DE 2.0
SCENARIO:
(1) I have a goods receipt PO that has a line for an item with a quantity but 0 unit cost.
(2) At a later stage, via DI, I create a AP Invoice and set the line BaseType, BaseEntry and BaseLine to point to the goods receipt from step 1.
REQUIREMENT:
When creating the AP INV, I would like to change the unit cost for the line to something other than 0. I find however, that because I have based the AP INV Line a base document, I cannot override the line price for the line before calling the APINV.Add() method. After calling the APINV.Add() method, the APINV Line still has the price of 0 even though I set it, for example, to 100. (see example below)

If your system is installed as 2007 (no upgrade from 2004/2005)
-> use the UnitPrice instead of Price field.
If you have upgraded from 2005/2005 versions,
->You can choose between the UnitPrice and Price fields up to the Customizing settings.

I want to add two custom fields in transaction CJ40 at the Unit Costing Line Item level and the screen number is 1301 and the program name is SAPLKKDI. This screen uses structure RK70L.

Try finding the main table for this transaction and check if CI_INCLUDE Exists there. this is the way we update the standard screens.

Populating Profit Centre Field while doing Transaction for Vendor/Customer

Dear Experts,
I have cheked in FSG of GL Code of Vendors/Customers where "Profit Centre " is a optional field.
I have cheked in OB41 also for posting key relating to vendors/customers "Profit Centre" field is set as optional field.
We need to make entry in the Profit Centre Field for both Vendors and Customers whicle doing manual posting.
How can we bring that field which is not populated while doing transaction with posting keys of vedors and customers.

I am agree with u, but since in SAP Vendor /Customer Line Item takes automatically profit centre from the other line items.
Here is an example:-
We have different profit centre for plant(104001) and coprorate office(106001)
Customer billing is done at plant then the entry will be:-
Customer A/c Debit (by default it will take 104001 profit centre)
Sales A/c Credit with Profit Centre 104001
In Corporate Office We Receive the sales proceeds:-
In Coming Bank a/c Corporate Debit with Profit Centre 106001
Customer A/c Credit (It will take by default profit centre 106001)
By this If we genrate Profit Centre Wise Trial Balance then all Customers Debit will lying with Plant Trial
and Customer Credit Balance will lying in Corporate Treial Balance giving a mis information to the auditors.
For solving this we need to populate the Profit Centre field in Customer line item so that while doing the received entry we can selct the Plant Profit Centre (104001) in Customer line item so that the Customer balance become Nil in Plant Trial.

Detailed Report on Unit Cost Planning.

Hi friends,
I am doing Unit Costing in my Project in Version 1.
Is there any standard report where I can get a display of all the Materials & services or (say) any Misc cost obtained thru Arithmatic Operation in the Unit Costing?
That is to say the detailed report of whatever is done in the Unit Cost Planning.
I am only getting the report of Planned Cost on Overall Basis.
Secondly, in Unit Costing if I do any arithmatic Operation on the total value or on a particular row, then the value obtained from the arithmatic operation is not getting displayed in the cost Planning report.

Hi Abhra,
UC Method is only to plan the project cost estimates. There is no such standard report to get the detailed plan report in terms of material, resources and Miscellaneous (tru Arithmatic calculations) except cost element report ( that to interms of cost only).
As you said, you can only get the Overall Planned total in Hierarchical report (i.e like S_ALR_87013532 - Plan/Actual/Variance ) including arithmatic calculations. but If you check in Cost element report ( i.e like S_ALR_87013542 - Actual/Commitment/Total/Plan in CO Area Currency ) you can get all planned cost that is planned against specific cost element, since it is a cost elements based report only.) If you want the planned cost tru arithmatic calculations also, you need to specify a cost element against that line item either in BPO or at WBS level.

Could someone please guide me in the steps to take for creating a set for cost centers so when DP90 (Billing Request fro service order) is generated it looks at all cost centers...
I went to GS01 created a name of Cost Center used table AD01ATTR and field KOSTL...enterered the from value XXX and the to value as XXX...
This does not seem to be working....am i missing something? Your direction would be greatly appreciated

Set Up Costs - Semi Variable

Dear Experts,
We incur set up costs that are semi variable.
In other words for $1000 is incurred for every 500 units produced ( $2 per unit). Suppose a product is produced only 100 units in a month, that means $200 ( $2*100 units) is absorbed on the product and remaining $800( $1000-$200) will be unabsorbed.
How this unabsorbed $800 , should be treated during correspondind month end.
2. My set up costs includes Labour, Machine & Power . We have captured set up costs under a single activity type.
Say we incurred $200 in a month, how can we split labour , machine & Power. what is the solution to split set up costs and post to
corresponding Labour , Machine and power cost center.

1. When you calculate actual activity price: It will be higher than Plan Price of 2$ because of lower utilization... Later on when you revaluate prod orders from CON2, there will be No Under abs of overhead
2. Usually, in your case, Set up cost is better represented by machine hrs than Labour hrs.. So, it is advisable to track Set Up cost as one single cost instead of Splitting up into three
You can create 6 Act types i.e. Set Up - Machine, Labor, Power and Other Machine, Labor, power... But that will only complicate the things
