Personnel Subarea inheriting from Personnel Area in PPOME  Transaction

Hi,
  We are facing the issue in PPOME Account Assignment tab.
Whenever if we assign the personnel Area, the personnel sub area also filled with Personnel area instead of taking the corresponding PA's PSA.
Could anybody let me know, how to avoid this issue.

    Hi,
    not sure if this is an abap or functional question, so I started here.
    I have a report using Logical Database PNPCE to find some values from a couple of info types. When I select a unit (from the 'OrgStructure' button at the top of the screen), say 111, and all its sub-units with no selections in the selection screen, I get one person displayed. This is correct and this person is in a sub-unit 3 levels down (unit 333).
    I then added a selection to only display people in units with Personnel SubArea 'OTEC'. Now I get no results output. When I look in PPOME, I can see that unit 333 has Personnel SubArea 'OTEC' but it is inherited from '111'.
    In PP01, unit 111 has an Account Assignment entry (Info Type 1008) but 333 does not.
    Does anyone know how to report on this?
    Is there a flag somewhere that tells the LDB to check for inherited units?
    If not, any ideas if there is a function out there to find the superior unit for these sub-units?

  • Changing personnel area/subarea (IT1008) from org unit to position

    We are live with PA and Org. Mgmt, but have been advised to change the infotype 1008 data - personnel area and subarea to be stored on the position instead of the org unit (where we have it now).  A big reason for this is we have cases when we need to overwrite the personnel subarea at the position level.  For example, a position belonging to an org unit with subarea ABCD, may really be in subarea WXYZ.  Therefore, even though the org unit is ABCD, it will be overwritten at the position level to WXYZ.  My understanding is that the RHINTE30 program will not work approrpiately if we are maintaining the data this way. 
    In transaction PPOME there is an account assignment tab on the org unit with cost center (filled in) and personnel area/subarea (which will be blank moving forward since that data won't be maintained on the org unit).  Then, there is also an account assignment tab on the position with cost center inherited from the org unit (sometimes needing to be overwritten at the position level), and the personnel area/subarea data.  My question is how should I handle the view of PPOME for this data?  Can I hide the personnel area and subarea on the account assignment tab for the org units only so it is not confusing for the users?  The problem with having it this way is that personnel area and subarea are blank on the org unit and filled on on the position.  They are conflicting and both visable/maintainable to the User.  Any advise please?  Thanks!

    I gave you my input on your other related message and now will go for this one.
    As I commented on the other message, RHINTE30 will not integrate infotypes 1008 and 1013. So you don't have to worry about using this functionality (first part of your message).
    On the second part (personnel area / subarea on position rather than org unit): there are some considerations here that are more functional / process driven than technical. From a technical point of view, everything can be done. You can hide data from infotype 1008 on the tabstrip for your org. unit using dynpro handling, even via customizing. You can even transfer the data from infotype 1008 on the org. units to the positions or delimit it on the org units. There are some quite easy ways of achieving this using the LMSW tool (have you used it? I can forward some documentation).
    But personally, I would not recommend to do this from a process point of view. Everything in SAP HR is about the inheritance concept, and I think this works very well when it comes to org. units and positions. It is normally advisable to record personnel area / subarea on the org. unit level. This will be inherited by positions (even if you cannot see it at position level in PPOME) and thus defaulted for the employee. At position level you should handle only the exceptions, which will be in turn also defaulted for the employee holding the position. In this way, data maintenance is minimized. If you delete (or do not use from now on) information about infotype 1008 on org. unit level, your HR department will have to maintain this every time a position is created, and even in cases in which a position is shifted from one org. unit to another one.
    In my opinion, you should address this with your HR department and explain the concept and the consequences of maintaining all at position level. It would only be advisable to do it if the org. unit structure is very cross-personnel areas and subareas. If it is a matter of handling exceptions, again, I would recommend to continue recording this data at org. unit level. All in all, if the data is not recorded on the position and you need to see which is its personnel area, you just need to double-click on the org. unit above.
    Just wanted to let you know my opinion, of course it's your decision. By the way, I'm of course not aware of other possible implications like home-developed reporting and so on.

  • Incorrect combinations for personnel area and personnel subare

    Hi all,
    we are getting incorrect combinations for personnel area and personnel subarea in the Target and as well in report.
    we are using standard datasources 0PERS_AREA_TEXT and 0PERS_SAREA_TEXT, we are extracting only masterdata text from ECC, Not maintaining Attibute and Hierarchy for personnel area and personnel subarea.
    we created (Actions overview) report on top of standard DSO 0PA_DS12 extracted from data source 0HR_PA_1,
    Actually some of employees are changed on xxxx.xx.xx date from one personnel area to another personnel area with respective subarea's, but here employee personnel area are coming correctly but not for subarea.
    what i need to do now?
    can any one help out in this..

    Hi,
    In this context we will have two senarios.
    1. Displaying the Personal Area and Personal Sub Area from Transactional data.
    2. Displaying from Master Data.
    If you choose Scenario 1 then, Personal Area and Personal Sub Area will be shown as per ECC entry. But in second scenario, If one Personal area or Personal Sub Area changed over a period of time that will effect the historical data also.
    For Example if your Personal Sub Area changed on Apr 1, 2011.
    Scenario 1: Report will be as per ECC Data ( from Apr 1, 2011 onwards it will show new Personal Sub Area).
    Scenario 2: Report will show new Personal Sub Area of Personal Area for entire data.

  • Create personnel subareas

    Hi experts,
    I just enrolled the course SAP HR module and hope you won't think my questions too stupid.
    I tried to create my personnel subareas from SPRO's enterprise structure. This was what I wanted to do:
    Personnel area: 0000
    Personnel subarea: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 (all under personnel area 0000)
    However, I kept getting an error message: "01 doesn't not exist in (check entry)" when I tried to create personnel subarea 01.
    Do you know what was the problem and how should I fix it? Thanks in advance.

    Are these defined in V_T001P
    Before you can use the HR system the way you want to you have to ensure the IMG (SAP Implementation
    Guide - transaction SPRO) is completed
    It is possible one of the IMG steps will require you to check or update V_T001P

    dear all
    when i create personnel area there are button called address if i need to maintain extra information like address ,name 1,name 2 ,telefone number...etc this button isnot found in personnel subarea is this possible to add it?

    1st we have created one table called location table which contains columns MOLGA, PSA code, PSA Desc, Market unit which was client requirement and Address number which is sequence number for PSA. We can maintain manually.
    Then we have created another table which is called address table and address is stored in this table based on sequence number.
    Then we have created a new subtype for address infotype which will display address based on PSA. In this sub type all fields are display mode only. 1st system will find out PSA > based on PSA what sequence number from location table > which address for this sequence number from Address table.

  • Personnel Subarea groupings for a multiple country system

    We have more than 70 countries in our SAP system and more coming to be rolled out. We mainly use the HR funtionality for time recording. So, for the configuration of personnel subarea groupings in Time Recording we used the country grouping: e.g. Singapore Molga = 25, MOABW = 25, MOVER = 25, etc. For the 'SAP-countries (countries for which SAP has a template) we use MOLGA as personnel subarea grouping, for the NON-SAP countries (countries for which SAP has no template) we use a 2 digit number downwards from 98. Now we are running out of 'numbers'.
    Has anybody similar problems and can you please share with me possible solutions?

    Several other possibilities exist for the grouping (not only PSG),
    for example :
    A) the "Employee subgroup grouping for time quotas" (ESG)
    which is a char1 field (so you can use many more then the ones you
    use at the moment)
    B) field "Quota type selection group" (Quomo), from the documentation
    of this field in V_T559L:
    "Quota type selection rule group
    You can use the quota type selection rule group to control absence
    quota type selection based on the employee's organizational assignment.
    Using different quota type selection rule groups, you can set specific
    rules for quota generation.
    Use
    Quota generation is carried out in the schema using function QUOTA.
    There are three ways of setting the quota type selection rule group:
    1. Using function MOD in the time evaluation schema
    Function MOD calls a personnel calculation rule that has been modified
    to suit the respective schema (for example, XMOD, MODT, or TMOD). The
    employee subgroup grouping for personnel calculation rules is queried
    in the rule using operation PAYTP. Using operation MODIF Q=xx,
    you can determine (for ach grouping) which quota type selection rule
    group shoulde be used in time evaluation to access the entries
    for the relevant employees in the Leave Accrual table.
    2. Using a personnel calculation rule you have written yourself in the
    time evaluation schema
    In this case, you also set the quota type selection rule group using
    operation MODIF Q=xx.
    3. Using feature QUOMO
    You can use the feature to set the quota type selection rule group based
    on other organizational assignments. It is queried by the system during
    time evaluation."
    As your main issue seems to be the use of several different quota
    requirements, you can define, via the use of field QUOMO in V_T559L,
    for quota type 10 (just as an example) several different generation
    rules (one for each Quomo).
    Please note that quota 10 does not need to be always generated in the
    same way, it can have a different generation rule for each key
    combination of V_T559L.
    The most flexible way to select which quomo should be used is via the
    feature QUOMO. There you will have the following decision fields
    BUKRS  Company Code
    WERKS  Personnel Area
    BTRTL  Personnel Subarea
    PERSG  Employee Group
    PERSK  Employee Subgroup
    MOLGA  Country Grouping
    MOURA  Personnel Subarea Grouping for Leave Types

    TRFGR  Pay Scale Group
    TRFST  Pay Scale Level
    SCHKZ  Work Schedule Rule
    PERNR  Personnel Number
    ANSVH  Work Contract

                below is the scenario at present
    personnel subarea  for employee in april was  as   1111.
    personnel subarea for that employee in MAY IS       1120
                                    that is one employee changed from personnel subarea 1111 to 1120 in HR - MODULE R/3
    In BI still he showing in personnel subarea 1111 only
    How to get changed this employyye form personnel subarea 1111 to 1120 where as PERSONNEL AREA IS SAME

    Based on that and your organization set up you should be able to chalk out the personnel structure.

  • HR: Mass Update Personnel subareas

    Hey All,
            I wanted to know if there is a way to mass update the personnel subareas for all the personnel areas in HR. I know that we can maintain the personnel sub areas in SPRO but doing this manually is going to be very time consuming since we have lots of data to update. Is there any other way, any BAPI I can use, Any transaction i can create an LSMW of.

    Thank you for your input. I have used HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA to update infotypes to a peratining user but how do i use it to update personnel areas in general??
    I am talking about updating subareas to personnel areas in general, not related to a particular emloyee.

  • Group Personnel Subarea for Work Schedule

    I am learning SAP HCM ECC 6.0 at the moment, I have created Personnel Area, Personnel Subarea however when I am trying to u201CGroup Personnel Subarea for Work Scheduleu201D the newly created Personnel Areas and Personnel Subarea are not appearing the list to group them for work schedule.
    No such problem persist while Defining employee subgroup under work schedule rules and work schedule in IMG.
    Experts could you please suggest me the solution to this problem? Is there any integration missing?

    The problem is been resolved by editing in Table "V_T500P" (Country grouping), now newly created PAs and PSAs are appearing in the list and I can "Group personnel subarea for work schedule"
    I did the the basic configuration of PAs, PSAs, EG, ESG and I assigned them to company code however PAs and PSAs were not appearing in the list to group them for Work Schedule. The problem is been resolved now by editing in Table.

  • Personnel subarea change ?

    Hi all,
            Need to figure out whether we can change or edit a PERSONNEL SUBAREA. My client is planning to move from 4.6c HR to 4.7 HR. during this change they need to change some of the personnel subarea (i think just rename).So they need to do the necessary changes in 4.6c before they migrate to 4.7. Is there any report that can do the work?
                If this is not possible, Is there an option similar to reference personnel number IT 31? so that i can assign the old personnel subarea as reference to the new one.

    Hi Niranjan
    U can rename the Personnel Subarea name by
    SPRO->ENTERPRISE STRUCTURE->DEFINITION->HUMAN RESOURCE->PERSONNEL SUBAREAS.
    Then Double click on "Copy, delete, check personnel subarea".
    Then Click on "Replace Org Object"(3rd button).
    Then Gibve the Old and new name.
    This will change the name in every table.
    But after doing this U have to change the employee data separately.

    there is one place to add a subarea address however it is for public sector... it will not going to help you however try the table.
    I would like to ask if you got any specific reason for putting subarea address ex for any form or something. you could add address of subarea, there is link for UK - public sector for EE, you could check in Payroll- public sector - address EE..
    Then ABAP development if you would like to add in form or if you could let me know which form may be we could suggest something more.

  • Retrieval of dates from Personnel Work Schedule Records.

    Hi friends,
    I need to develop a user exit in which retrieves dates for a current calendar year.
    For Eg: For Calendar year 2008 There are 2 workschedules .
    1) From 06/01/08 to 12/31/08 (Current record)
    2) From 01/01/08 to 05/31/08 (Immediate previous record)
    I have used the Function Module 'HR_PERSONAL_WORK_SCHEDULE' to retrieve PWS and then sorted it in reverse chronological order.
    How could i retrieve the dates for the 'current' and the 'Immediate previous' records?
    How would i need to CODE the user exit in order to INDEX the sorted work schedule and retrieve the Start and End dates for the Current and Immediate previous records?
    As i haven't worked on ABAP,it would be very helpful if anyone could kindly provide me with a code or logic for this .

    It is giving the application Log errors In source system
    1) no entry in HR table T569R for 105 and 106.
    2) no personnel work schedule for personnel number of 145404,342983 and 366054.
    These are showing in application log r/3 source system side.
    what selection criteria is avilable in rsa3 extactly that is reflect to info package.
    i need to restrict only employee number wise ip or any other selection criteria i need follow.
    Please tell me how to load how avoid the application logs.
