Perspective and Warp AE CS4

In Photoshop there are functions called perspective and warp and it can be applied to each layer.
Are there similar positilities for each layer in AE CS4 where I can either change my perspective - or create a warp effectas in Photoshop
Would like to make it in 2D

Why is it when I want to transform a smart object sometimes it lets me use Distort, Perspective and Warp and other times it doesn't?

Unfortunately, I don't remember when it does work. It's a PSD document RGB/8. Where do you find out the bit depth?
It's got a a high res stock photo of a polo shirt and I've created a logo for a company (the smart object) that I've placed on the shirt but because I can't distort, use perspective or warp it's not as accurate a look as possible because it's not curving at the angle of the shirt.

Problems before and after Uninstall and re-install CS4

I went ahead and uninstalled and re-installed CS4 because of freeze ups and other difficulties. Program After Effects is now crashing - see attachment. There is also a problem with an importer plugin (I think) may be related. I can't tell. I have not tried any other projects. I did however, disconnect the Matrox MX02 Mini, but still had problems. The MX02 is now re-connected.
I wonder if installing CS4 on top of CS3 is an issue? I remember having a similar problem goiing from CS2 to CS3. I had to downloader a cleaning utility from Adobe (I think) to remove every bit of CS2 and then run CCleaner.
It's my own fault - trying to upgrade software and hardware at the same time. It's hard to isolate. For now, I'l just have to do with Premiere since it is working. But, I'd sure like to know what's going on.

Did you re-install all other Adobe products as well? If not, then that may be the problem. Uninstalling/ reinstalling only one of them messes with MediaCore and certain otehr functions. The quick fix is to download the manuala (!) update packages for After Effects, Premiere Pro/Encore and Adobe Media Encoder from the support pages and run them. This usually bends things in place. If not, then you will probably have to uninstall again, this time including every Adobe app, use the CS4 Clean Script and reinstall.

Elements 8.0 and Adobe Bridge CS4 problem

I have two problems that appeared in Elemens 8.0 and Adobe Brigde CS4 recently. I'm using the Mac version and a Macbook Pro (4 months old).
I don't really know where to address the problem, but I hope someone in this forum would be able to advice me.
Problem 1
When I browse a RAW-file in Bridge and click the photo to view a 100% zoom and then go back to a normal view, after a few seconds the photo turns alot darker. I've got alot of macro photos of flower and they really loose structure in this process and I would say they get damaged.
On the attached file the left photo is the photo I've viewed and closed and the right one is the original file. Does anyone have an explanation to this problem? I do like to review my files and do a 100% zoom before I choose the best one, but this is not possible in Bridge due to this problem.
Problem 2
After postprocessing my photos in Elements some of them cannot be viewed through Brigde anymore, they get sort of unclear and some show pixels. If I use Finder or other programmes to view the files they look perfectly allright. See examples below, the left one is a screendump from Bridge and the second one is the processed file.

I think this solved the problem, at least some of it.
I deleted the bridge plist file and also ran an update of Bridge CS4. I wasn't sure how to update ACR in bridge, so I didn't do that.
But when I start Bridge now, only some of the files changes color slightly in the thumbnails view. The zoom (loading 100%) also looks different, it zoomed to 800% earlier even though it said 100%, it sort of never ended.

You can't. Any version before Creative Cloud does not support high-DPI displays and that is just that. If you cannot adjust the system's screen resolution and so on, then there is nothing you can do.

Descriptions are not showing on Perspectives and Objectives

I have provided descriptions for various Perspectives and Objectives in the Perspective and Objective Library and only some values are being displayed. What am I doing incorrectly?

What version are you working on? The only thing I can think of going back to version 7.5 is that, while there is a default description from the library, there is also the option via the Override descriptions link in the Conexts section of the Admin area, to override that description. It could be that this is what is causing the problem and that while you may be storing a description in the Library it is being overridden this way.
If you are on version 10.0 or 10.1 then I would suggest that you open a support ticket to look into this as this behaviour, particularly with it being inconsistent, suggests a problem. From your description I can't see what you are doing wrong.

Yes, but do a custom install to choose the apps to install to avoid any possibility of conflicts.

Printing to my epson R1800 with Lightroom2.4 and to Photoshop CS4

I use to be able to print from my lightroom 2 to my epson R1800, with all my ICC profiles, but after I upgraded to Lightroom2.4 and to Photoshop CS4 I can't seem to print from that app. Anyone have a clue.. I've spoken to tech support for hours on end and still I can't print. I was able to print once directly from photoshop, but after doing everything that was told to me by tech support, now even printing from CS4 is a dead end.

For example, if there is a human face, where one part of the face is facing the camera and the other part of the face is only partially facing the camera, can we make this face look totally at the camera? If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.

Projects Not Opening with Multicam and Warp Stabilizer - "[..\..\src\TickTime.cpp-207]"

Editing a sequence with multiple nested multicam clips and warp stabilizer, if I close Premiere and reopen it, it says "Premiere Pro has encountered an error. [..\..\src\TickTime.cpp-207]" repeatedly until killed by Task Manager. I have restarted the computer, cleared the media cache and deleted preferences. I can import the sequence into another project and continue editing but if I close PPro I have to create another project and import the sequence again or I get the same error. Help!

That is great news. I had a feeling the issue would be gone in the Next PPro. The issue can be easily duplicated by following these steps in CS6:
1) User warp stabilizer on several clips (like maybe 6 or more or so).
2) Take two clips and nest them and sync them for multicam on the same timeline as the stabilized clips (NOTE: these two clips don't actually have to be sync'd...just grab any two clips, stack them on top of each other, highlight them both and right-click and choose "nest", then right-click again and "enable" multicam.
3) Save project. Close project. Re-open project and you'll get the error.
If you do that in the NEXT version, does the error come up? Also, just while I have you...if you go into the settings of Warp Stabilizer, what is the default "method"? Is it still defaulted to "Subspace Warp" or did they smarten up and realize the option "Position, Scale, Rotation" is actually MUCH more effeciet causing less wobble and less cropping of the video 90% of the time? Just curious.

I feel your pain. What also stinks is that the error pops up again when you export (or I should say when you queue) up the project into AME. I originally thought the number of continues equalled the number of warps applied but that's not always the case. Although, the more warp stabilizers applied the more times you'll have to hit continue. It often goes in numbers divisible by four. Why do I know all this crazy, useless info...hours and hours of trying to "solve" the issue. Every project I do, every single week has more than 100 clips that are stabilized and multiple multicam sequences so I often have to hit "continue" on the error 300-400 times or more on EVERY project. Can't wait til the next version!

Perspective and lens geometrical corrections

Ideally Lightroom would encompass all the basic functions needed by the photographer in order to avoid, as much as possible, the use of Photoshop as part of usual workflow.
Perspective and lens geometrical aberrations corrections are two important steps of a photographer's workflow.
It would be great to have them as part of Lightroom. Don't you think?

The biggest disadvantage to edit in PS is, that you multipy the needed disc-space by a factor of about 3-10 by converting DNG or NEF into TIF/PSD and double up your files in LR with each file you´re editing in PS. For me, that´s one of the main-reasons to say, put as much as possibe features into LR. I´m willing to pay more money if LR is a modular system,or if you can choose between a "light" and a "extended" version.
Maybe LR light, and LR extended can be the future, instead of having two different products, 10 times loose of disk space, double number of database-entires is LR and to have a smarter work-flow.
But at least main features like lens corrections and perspective corrections should be included into LR.

(CS5.1) Free Transform and Warp tool causing pixelation and quality drop.

When I free transform and warp a layer to lie flat, sometimes I'll get this harsh pixellation at one end of the layer. It doesn't appear while I'm doing the warp, just suddenly coming up when I hit enter to apply the transformation.
So for example, Ill be transforming this grid, which is originally about 9x this big.
So when I''m running the transformation/warp, it looks like this
Not great, but at least most of the lines are still intact on the left and back (the right side is basically fine looking)
But once I hit enter, I get this
And now like, half the lines I did have are gone, and what's left is super pixelated.
Is there an interpolation setting I could be using? Is it something unavoidable from how distorted I make the layer?

It is a general AA problem with mapping texture on surfaces in acute angles. In 3D programs this is solved by a technique called mipmaping, The 3D renderer calculates the degree of distortions and applies blurring filter where it is needed based on the depth of the 3D space to solve this problem. Unfortunately Photoshop is not a 3D renderer and can't eliminate this. You can try manually to reduce it yourself by applying the same transformation on several differently blurred copies of the layer and then using masks made with manual brushing over the problem areas to reduce the artifact.
Here's an example image of a 3D program solving the problem.
and a quick attempt I made to illustrate the problem using your grid after making it more dense with several multiplied layers. the bottom part is the grid masked with different degree of blurring at the problem areas. As you can see this is not an easy task and the problem may be considered as impossible to be fixed nicely. On top of that as you can see this approach may require constructing grid patterns on layers so that you can blur the eventual horizontal or vertical directions separately.
