PETITION: FIX ALBUM ART

hi, well currently, i had to RETAG about 60 albums since i lost alot of my album art. Believe it or not, i still have a lot to go to finish re tagging thanks to Creative's firmware update. so well this petition is for creative to address this issue with an update since over at epizenter we've disccused this alreaddy. To my surprise i tried re-sizing some album's album art to 500x500, 300x300, 498x500. and yet some album art with this size work, and some dont.
so i say sign it if you'd like an update fixing this stupid idiotic issue. oh yah, i've already contactes CS more than 4 times and i get the same response on "resize" and "retransfer" or make a "folder.jpg" which to none avail.

  • Can we expect firmware to fix album art glitches?

I bought a 5.5g 80gb iPod less than a month ago, and while things generally seem to be working great, I am continually experiencing glitches with album artwork. I've got 6000+ songs to which I meticulously assigned album artwork, and it seems that every day I'll find some album or another that has the wrong artwork on my iPod (but correct in iTunes).
I know how to correct it (I've just been going into iTunes, deleting the offending artwork, and reassigning it; then after a sync, the album has the correct artwork on my iPod), but nevertheless it's annoying to keep having to do it.
Can we expect Apple to correct these issues in future firmware?

Its not a firmware issue, its just that the wrong artwork got assigned. With your iPod plugged in, click the music tab of the iPod preference pane. Uncheck the "Display Album Artwork on Your iPod" box and click apply. Eject your iPod and reconnect it. The recheck that box. iTunes will now recopy all of your album artwork, and hopefully assign it to the right song. This worked for me when I had this problem and I hope it works for you!

  • How do you fix album art?

it keeps turning black on certain pictures.. how do you make sure it doesn't do that?

Try rebuilding the artwork cache. Connect your iPod to iTunes. Locate the iPod in the Sources pane on the left-hand side, then select the Music tab. Remove the tick from *Display album artwork on your iPod*, sync the iPod, reselect the option & sync again.

  • 7.3.1 album art issue is fixed

I just converted lossless files to AIFF and back again. The album art stayed connected the whole way. This is fixed behavior from 7.3. Thank you Apple.

Actually it appears there's something still wrong. Those tracks that preserved album art through conversion to AIFF and back to lossless do NOT show the album art from a shared library. They always used to.
(They never do inside iTunes itself but always showed in You Control iTunes and Synergy and the like.)

  • The album art is incorrect on my ipod touch 4th gen.  How do I fix this?

My refurbished ipod touch 4th generation 64GB is showing incorrect, wrong, mismatched album art. The album art shows correctly in itunes but incorrect on my ipod.  At first, it only showed a few mismatched songs.  Then I tried deleting the songs from the ipod and adding them back.  Now ALL the songs in my library show mismatched album art.  How do i fix this? Some people have suggested that this is a cache problem. Will a reset/restore fix this? What problems will I incur if i try to reset my ipod? Should I select "reset all settings" or "erase all content and settings"? Will I lose all my data?  I don't really keep a lot of apps on my ipod so if i lose the data its not a big issue. I just want to know before I start down this path.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Sharing my fix for blank album art in iphone

Just wanted to share this. I have had the problem many have had where artwork displays in itunes but shows up as blank in the iphone. The fix (v 3GS) was to in itunes, select all the songs of the affected album, right click to get info. When the dialog appears, check only the art box, cut and paste the artwork in the box. Itunes then rebuilds the songs with the art, and the next sync pushes the changes to the phone.
Also found out that if you accidentally paste the wrong art onto an album in itunes (where you drag and drop the art while a song is playing), you can drop new art over it, but the old art is still displayed. Doing a get info for the song that was playing shows both art images on the art tab and you can delete the one you were trying to get rid of.
Got direction from this forum. Hope this is useful to someone....

Although this discussion is a bit old I think it's still worth answering it as google points to this page.
The only reason for the above to happen (Different cover art appearing in horizontal and vertical) I can think of is that Iphone Cover Flow is an Album Art only.
iPhone and iTunes has at least two modes to display your music in that is:
    * Song mode - where tune's art is pulled from the file if any exists.
    * Album mode - where album art is shared by multiple tunes with the same "ALBUM NAME".
So if many of the songs has no ALBUM NAME at all or share something like Unknown etc. It's is likely that in Cover Flow Mode (Which is Album View) those will have some strange things displayed.
On the other hand I currently have slightly different problem hence my search. My Art is mixed up especially among the podcasts. Totally... I'll try full resync.
BTW. If you got the Art in one way or another but after uploading the tunes to iPhone you don't see it it's likely that you downloaded Art only for one of them and iTunes is showing that one for all that share the album name. If you get the art from iTunes Store then Highlight all tunes that should contain the art and right-click>Get Album Artwork, otherwise Get Info and double-click on the Artwork field on the right-hand side.

  • Fix/revert the way it gets album art?

I tag all my albums "(01) Debut", "(02) Second Album", etc.. so they're in chronological order.
Anyway, after upgrading to the latest iTunes (I think I had 8.0.1 or something), it no longer gets album art for them, unless I change the album title to "Debut" and "Second Album"
It worked in the last version I had, why did you change it when it worked fine? This always happens with iTunes, each version gets more and more bloated...
Another thing, why does it go A-Z and then 0-9? What on Earth is up with that?
Can you fix it plz? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris.
If I did sort album by year, it wouldn't work on my iPod. As for previously getting artwork with the correct title and then changing it. When adding music to my library, I tag it all first, and then click get album artwork, which always worked fine before. Also, I've done a fresh install of Windows before, reinstalled iTunes and added all my music (tagged with (XX) at the beginning) iTunes would automatically get the artwork. Now it's missing the artwork for 197 albums, so I don't really feel like changing them all manually...I guess I could use an older version of iTunes, but is this likely to be fixed in the future, as I'd rather have an up-to-date version of the programs on my computer.
And I know it's done A-Z, 0-9 for a while now, but I thought while I was posting about this I might aswell ask.
    Thanks again.

  • Hi, I've lost all song data ( besides song name) on 1,100 WAV files. Does anyone know an app or fix that can identify Album & Artist (& maybe album art) on these files? Thanks

Hi, I've lost all song data ( besides song name) on 1,100 WAV files. Does anyone know an app or fix that can identify Album & Artist (& maybe album art) on these files? Thanks
    Dermot

    Hi John,
A major drawback with using wav for storage is that it doesn't carry a tag. This means that in the event of a corrupted library the only information remaining is the filename. Other data may be stored in the path but iTunes doesn't know how to get it. I understand that you need this format for your workflow with Diamond Cut, but that makes it all the more important that you backup your iTunes database on a regular basis.
Provided that you still have the tracks in their artist and album folders and haven't let iTunes "reorganise" them you should be able to restore some useful metadata using my script TagFromFilename. The script reads the path and filename, and provided these are in the normal layout of <Path>\<Artist>\<Album>\## <Name>.<Ext> can restore Artist, Album Artist, Track Name and Track Number. If your files have a different but predicatable layout with the same information, e.g. the data is all in the filename, then I could create a suitable version of the script to get the data into iTunes. I recommend you disable both the Keep... and Copy... options in iTunes advanced preferences before adding files to the iTunes database. Ideally you also want a complete backup of your correctly structured folders in case you need to pull copies back from it.
As stated earlier, uninstalling iTunes before the upgrade wouldn't have helped. The crucial thing before any upgrade is to backup all user data from the drive that will be wiped. Typically the iTunes database lives in C:\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes on Vista or Windows 7. The crucial file is called iTunes Library.itl. You seem fairly certain that you don't have a backup database that you could restore but an exhaustive search of your hard drive for files of the form *.itl might still be worth doing. If you find any apart from the active library we can discuss how you open them to see if they are useful.

  • Some of the album art work is not showing up after I buy music. I have the iPhone 6. How do I fix that?

I have the iphone 6 16GB. Some of the music I have buy and download onto this phone does not have album covers. aome do have the album covers though. How do I fix that?

Doesn't seem like this is happening to a lot of people but I'm having issues with album art too.  Synching new iPhone 6 iOS 8.1 (128gb) and the art appears fine.  Then a day or two later it all fails to display - 8,000 + songs.
I have wiped the device to factory for fresh try but same results (note that also cycles ApplePay - hope I don't get fresh $35 re-enrollment charge)
Kinda frustrating to have bad *** display and no art.
    Any ideas?

  • No ALBUM ART on IPOD (already tried many fixes)

I used iTunes Art Importer by YVG Software to import album art for most of my music. I can see the art in itunes/winamp/etc but not on my ipod. When i first loaded all of my songs onto my ipod it would show up for every song without problems. I then put my ipod back in its dock (connected to computer), let it charge, then disconnected. After that all the album art disspeared. I have already tried these fixes:
-Disable album art in ipod options, disconnect, reconnect, enable
-Uncheck all of my songs in itunes (select all, right click, uncheck)
Now when i uncheck all of my songs on the ipod in itunes it temporarily fixes my problem and all the album art will show up again after a disconnect. As soon as i plug my ipod back into my system and open itunes the songs will be checked again. Of course, this disables my album art. It takes about 15 minutes to uncheck all of the songs again and really bogs my computer down in the meantime. I find this to be completely unacceptable for a $300 piece of equipment. Is there anyone else out there with this problem and is there any known fixes for this? Hopefully this is addressed in 1.2...
    Thank You

    Please help me.

  • How do I fix the album art on my iPod? It has been scrabbled due to the iOS update.

My iPod touch 5th generation has had two problems come up since the iOS update; I regret updating because I was happy with how it was before. The album art has been scrabbled on my iPod; it has placed album art that goes with other songs to the wrong song or has album art I've never seen before.  My iPod also has a problem with music now. I've noticed that I am unable to play music that I once could. Some have an iCloud or stop symbol next to it and I can not listen to them. I notice that while it plays my music on shuffle, while looking at the screen and song, it will skip through about 2-5 or more songs as if it's not allowed to play it. I am very irratated with these problems. Everything was all dandy before these updates. Any feedback would be very helpful and I thank you.

  • Album Art. Can i fix this?

    Hi,
I just have a question which has been on my mind for a while it's not a big thing but was wondering if somebody would have the solution.
When I play music from my iTunes Library and the first song that I play is highlighted in blue and so the album art shows as well. Now when the second song plays I still get same album art from the first song.
Unless I click once on the song that is playin and it higlights blue the album art will not change.
No like I said this is not a major problem I just thought it would be cool that when a new song starts playing the album art would change with it.
I have been looking around on how to do this but couldn't find any options.
Is there a solution or should I just forget about it?
    Cheers,
    Tom

Right above the album art it shows 'Selected Song'.
Click on it and it will change in 'Now Playing'
    Does this help?

  • ****FIX **** update to 7.0 - Album Art problem- Disable/ReEnable failed

I have a 30gb videopod and updated to version 7. I too was experiencing problems with some tracks not showing recently added album art.
I tried disabling and re-enabling album art on both my powerbook and xp computer and which lead to no album art was showing at all. Disabled and re-enabled numerous times and couldn't get any album art to show.
In Windows, I resolved my issue by removing version 7.0 and installing back version 6.05. Fired up 6.05, Disabled and re-enabled album art and all my album art was back on my ipod. *Sigh of relief of not restoring ipod"

marx23 - your tip worked great!! I re-installed iTunes 6.0.5 with the desktop trick. Unchecked, checked, and finally - album art is back up and running on my iPod.
When I updated to iTunes 7.0 I lost album art display on 7000 songs that probably took me 100+ hours to associate. After I got iTunes 7.0 I spent over 3 hours surfing the discussion boards and Apple's tips and trying different things. All the tricks with the check box, uncheck box, eject, repeat while using iTunes 7.0 didn't work. Finally I went back to iTunes 6.0.5.
Thank you so much for the tip!
Hope everybody else finds your post, it's great!!!!!

  • Fix Mismatched Album Art w/ Manual Management

While my album art displays correctly in iTunes, it is often mismatched on my iPod.
I saw a solution for users who ask iTunes to automatically update, but am wondering if there's a solution for those of us who manually manage music? I have a 5-gen video iPod and am running iTunes 7.
    Thanks.

just connect your iPod and have it not display art work by unchecking and then select apply... this is going to remove all artwork...
then unplug it... plug it back in... check the display art work option again and then select apply...
