To Nokia:
Please add three more folders to the main menu of the N73
in addition to the Internet icon that was added to v.4.0

Connectivity
Help
(They exist in the N80 which is older than the N73 and the N93i)
Right now everything is dis-organized in Tools or Applications, and probably a lot of users want their menu
organized nicely.

Apple pls look here: Some "quick wins" for the next firmware release

Hi!
First of all: Thank you, Apple, for Update 1.0.3! The most annoying bugs are fixed and the click wheel works better (but in my opinion the quick wheel of the iPod nano works still even better).
Please allow me to suggest a few "quick wins" you could easily (in my opinion) include in the next firmware release:
+ Please add an option to turn off that "screensaver" or to change the time until it turns on
The "screensaver" wouldn't be that bad when:
+ It would display "now playing" information in a large font (better readable than the normal "now playing" when the background light is off
+ The screensaver clock would display 24h format, when configured

The NEXT firmware update? 1.2.1

anyone know when Apple will release the next firmware update? got my phone for like a month now (i did 1.1.1) and all these safari crashes, bad password timer.. and like soo many bugs.
and yeah anyone know how to Empty trash in Mail? or you are just suppose to delete it twice? I did the option clear mail after one day but it never delete anything after like a week.. and yeah i guess that's a bug too.
so when's the Next fireware update?

It does work. Deletion takes place based on 24 hours after the initial deletion was initiated by the user.
Go to:
Settings > Mail > (mail account name) > Advanced > Remove >
select either
(Never/After one day/After one week/After one month
Your mail will be deleted automatically based on the selection. No more having to delete an email twice.

What to do about this: "Required field, UPC, is missing. Please add UPC to the listing and retry the operation." ? We sell cassette tapes and sometimes they are are of a vintage that predates upc codes.

Hopefully, when all of this becomes 'official' in two weeks, there will be a timely manner to address item misinformation within the Product Catalogue. In the meantime, I would state all the item properties in the Item Description area to cover my butt.

Please add "iPhone" to the spell check dictionary.

The forums spell checker is flagging iPhone, which is an Apple product name. Please add it to the dictionary.

Umm, I want to be as "constructive" as possible, so I'll clarify my statement. My suggestion referred to the web based spell checker built into the apple discussions site. It's the little "ABC" checkmark icon between underline and quote. This application does not run on anyone's local machine, (Mac or other)- it's web based.
On the server, it contains a database of all the words that are spelled correctly, along with thousands of suggestions for how to correctly spell words that aren't correct.
Apple generally takes very good care to make the user experience seamless and well thought out. Unfortunately in this case, it's failure to include it's own brand names like "phone" seems careless or at least sloppy. If you look beyond just it's own product names like "iMac", you'll also discover than common feature words like WiFi, GSM and dozens of other words which are commonly used in these forums are also missing. I'm trying to help Apple give the most professional image possible.
As for your comment, immediatly replying that I'm not using a Mac so too bad seems to run counter to the desire of this community, beyond the fact that you don't understand this application. If the goal is to encourage Windows, (or in my case Linux), users to move to OSX, then you might want to be or encouraging and not so dismissive. If your goal is to alienate potential customers perhaps you're ideally suited for the Linux user community who's elitist ugliness for NOOBS is legendary.

If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.

The next firmware for n73?

So who knows when the next firmware for n73 comes out? so I can update my phone? my current firmware is v4.0839.42.2.1.
Generally it takes 3 months to build a new version of firmware, and this one was build 27-09-2008 . so I hope that the new firmware comes very soon .

The next firmware for N97

Nokia, I know you guys read this blog about the biggest disappointment in the History of Nokia (the N97). I want an exact release date of the next firmware and exact list of what is being done.. I cannot stand this RAM and C drive issues on this device.. I am using my n95-3 because N97 is not stable, not capable of multitasking, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc! I will soon trash it and record a video, or smash it on the wall.. The feeling of Smashing this phone on a wall well worths the 700$. Only reason I am not doing it because I am hoping The next firmware will give me at least 70mb free ram on boot and will clean up C drive from unwanted apps (adobe, jouki, boingo etc............. And therefore will give me at least 50mb free C!) P L E A S E list here nokia what is being worked on so i don't waste my time and totally switch back to my n95-3.

I wish people wouldn't blame the poor phone, when they don't read the manual properly. TURN OFF WLAN AUTO SCAN for goodness sake. Set the "default" access point in "WEB" to "Ask when needed", then choose whatever access point you want when you use the thing after you've left the house.

This is my interpratation of this problem.
(Connectivity>Destinations> Access Points) This is where you set up access to the internet and you prioritise your available connections i.e I have WLAN Priority1 and Orange Internet Priority 2 setup under an access point called INTERNET, I have therefore made this access point called INTERNET my default access point therefore I expect the phone to automatically connect to Orange Internet when my WLAN is out of range because Orange Internet is available everywhere I go. Isn't this what this feature is meant to be doing???????????????????????

Hi,
I am executing a sql script from UNIX shell. When I execute it at the command prompt the script executes successfully, but when I schedule the script on cron, the script is throwing an error with the above message
"Please add exit to the last line of the sql script"
Any idea what is happening? Thanks in advance for any help

Before, when i closed Firefox with multiple tabs open, it prompted me and asked if I wanted to return to these tabs the next time. When i downloaded the new Firefox, i can't do that anymore. Is there an add-on to make that happen?

I recently updated Firefox on my desktop and laptop. Before, when i closed Firefox, a window would open and ask me if i wanted to return to the same group of URL location tabs the next time i opened Firefox.
Now it doesn't ask that, so i have to remember which sites i was using each time. Is there a way to return to the same group of URL locations each time I re-open Firefox?

When is the next FW upgrade after V21.0.016 which hav known bugs reported . I hope nokia to rectify it in next FW near soon.....My N95-1 getting slower & slower in response...when boot up it takes 15 minutes, some phone pre-installed function like Nokia Search, Dictionary, WLAN (wifi) already hided inside the phone (cannot see their icons), when receiving calls , i cannot see the loudspeaker function to be on...Video centre cannot be added anymore new services...& many more ...i only used up 3GB data for my Sandisk 4GB card...my phone still hav 58MB space left...i cannot imagine what will happen if more problems coming...

Your problem is elsewhere, not with the firmware.
How many themes and third-party applications have you installed? Did you install them into the phone's memory or the memory card? If your phone takes 15 minutes to start up there's a serious overload somewhere.
Regardless of that, nobody knows when new firmware is due out. It just appears. The thing to do is to check on http://europe.nokia.com/A4577225 periodically.

When is the next firmware coming for the N97

When is the next frimware due for the N97, V20 made it easier to use with kinectic scrolling, apart from that, it has made my phone slower, unresponsive, freezes alot, and caused more bugs innit.
Is there another one coming out to maybe fix the rest of the bugs since V20 is suppose to fix some bugs not all of them, what about the rest of them.

There was an announcement by xbungle in the "software updates" section that the next update for the N97 would be released mid to late next month.

Speculation about the next firmware (PR1.2) and it...

Can someone from nokia tell me when the next update is coming? At least an approximate release date? I have been uising the nokia n900 for almost 4 months now and yet nothing has been done about the ussd codes functinality. Its quite disappoiting, considering how expensive the phone is and yet nokia doesn't really care.
