I don't know about the rest of you, but I've really had enough of this. Those shiny white elitist iSheep 'i use a mac so i'm better than you and my poo doesn't stink' fanboys come and post in the forums, wasting our time (and bandwidth). We think someone needs help, only to read through the trog's post and see thier "iPods rule, all else drool," motto.
So I propose this: Anyone who wants to register for the fourms would require a legitimate (and the algorithm knows if it's legit) serial number for their product. This would do two things: one, keep people from registering 4.352x0^3 names and flaming or inciting riots. Second, the product would be on file (and would help other users in determining possible options for support/repair, i.e. open it up and replace the HDD, or send it in).
If you want to bash creative, fine. Be prepared to back up your claim. If you want to be a fanboy, do it on your blog and not where people are truly seeking help.

No way. I don't have a creative player, but I'm looking to buy one. Would this mean that I can't ask questions about the player on this board, or help others who are also intrested in the same player as me? This board is a great source of information, much better than the actual information on the Creative site.
People are angry with their products because they have a reason to be. I admit that some angry customers are just using the forum to let off their anger, but you should have to put up with that. If you look at it from a positi've view, it shows us that that particular player may have problems. If you don't like the look of posts like that, then just ignore them.
