Petition: We Get to Choose Which Program to Sync

Instead of forcing us to sync with WMP0 we should be able to pick to use the Creative Explorer or it. I don't like the idea of being cut out of what the given software has to offer. There might be things we want to use the CE for and then we reconnect with the usb cable and use the WMP0 and use it next or vice versa if we want.
I don't know if other operating systems do it but when we first plug it in in XP it asks what we want to do with it. We should be able to choose between the two.
I'm referring to the Zen Micro but if other players have this problem then it could be the same.
Just my idea I think it sounds resonable.

Can I choose which programs or apps upload data to iCloud?

My iCloud account tells me that my 5GB are full (that's right from the start when I updated the software to iOS5 :-S) Well, I noticed that there are actually just a few apps that I would want to make data backups for in iCloud. Can I choose which programs use that function? The only option I found so far is to turn the data backup function off or on, for ALL the apps. But I only want to use it for a FEW ones! Is this supported in iOS5??
PS. How come it gets full so quickly? The programs that uses most data (Hipstamatic for example) use only barely 0,5GB. So what I can see the 5GB shouldn't be full yet. What have I missed?

I think starting from the second home screen, the new app will be placed in the first available space. If this is the case, you would be able to control the placement manually by making sure your landing screen has empty icon slots and all previous screens, with the exception of the first one, have all of the icon slots occupied. I did run across an app that seemed like it would allow the user to create placeholder icons on the home screens but I can not think of the keywords to pull it up now. There are several icon creators/enhancers that may do the same thing. You can use one of these apps or use the Safari button to Add to Home Screen, to fill up the screens. You could even use a folder to store and deploy your screen filler icons. It seems like it would be more trouble than it's worth but I do have my home screens assigned for different roles. Hopefully Apple will continue to refine the user interface.

Help, I want to be able to choose which programs I wan tot run at start up because after 6 months of usage it takes about 2plus minutes for a cold system to start up and 5 seconds to shut down. I wan tot speed up the startup and I think I have to many programs runnning at startup. On my PC I used to control that from sys config,is there an equivalent in Lion.

Go to System Preferences/System/Users & Groups. Click on Login Items and add or delete the apps as you choose.

I think I remember your first post ..... Launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. You can see all of your iPad backups in there that are available for you to restore from.
You can also connect the iPad to the computer - launch iTunes - right click on the iPad name on the left under devices - and select restore from backup. A window will pop up with a drop down menu and you can pick from all of the backups that you have to choose from.

Finder is going to have to start at each bootup. It's how you interact with Mac OS X.
Follow Keppy's instructions above if you have other programs that you want to load at start up.

depending on which model of G5 and OS installed will depend on whether a key command will work
alt at start up may work, if it does not, use the start up disc setting in;
apple menu > system preferences > system > start up disc
of course, the second drive must have a compatible OS installed for it to be able to boot.

Choosing which program?

I'm getting mixed up - and still wondering about opinion on iMovie '09. I have:
iMovie HD
iMovie 09
MPEG Streamclip
QT Pro
I am mostly converting camcorder or video tapes to digital (adding chapters and transitions) then burning to iDVD. Yes, for this type of memories, people want to watch on DVD.
I know I've read somewhere to use MPEG Streamclip but lots are fans of sticking with iMovie HD - but I don't want to be stuck when it's no longer able to integrate with newer programs (projects already ruled out of iMovie 09 I believe).
Would like the most streamlined (simple) workflow but outputting the best quality possible. Your opinion?

I know how to change the default program associated with an extension (I would like to keep picture viewer as the default open option for JPG) but I don't know how I change the EDIT association (currently Paint for JPG) in Win 7.
And it would be much more useful if AI could just give us the option of setting defaults (as Bridge does) OR AI could just use Bridge's defaults OR give us an "Open with" option as in Indesign. So many possible solutions, I've feature-requested this on occasions since CS1, it works in other Adobe apps, so I can only think Adobe is wilfully ignoring this issue for Irritator.

I Start a New am so frustrated with problems syncing photos on my iPad. I choose which files to sync but get deleted photos in my albums, my photos are in the wrong albums and the weirdest of all- I now have strange graphics and Facebook photos in albums!

I have spent several hours trying to find a solution to the following problems. After syncing my IPad with ITunes, I end up with photos that I previously deleted in my albums, duplicate photos, albums that have wrong pictures in them and weirdest of all, strange graphics and Facebook photos that are not even mine. Right now I hate this thing!
I have scanned the support forums, Googled it, deleted several photo caches, spent days editing my photo files, checked the specific folders I wanted to sync and it seems like it's not syncing, just adding the same photos and strange crap that it already had on it. Oh please help me!

OK....I'm stumped. The message you are seeing is typically there to protect someone from syncing with a different computer/iTunes account. Is there any way anyone else has used your iPad and possibly connected it to their computer?

Choose which calendar to sync

I have a problem. Indeed, i'd like to choose one of my two calendars to sync, but i don't know how to fix it. When i sync my ical with another computer, this person can see all of my calendars, whereas i'd like him to have access to my professional calendar only.

.Mac Sync has no provision to selectively synchronize calendars. It's an all-or-nothing proposition.
SyncTogether, from Mark/Space, will allow you to select individual calendars and independently synchronize events and tasks across users on your machine, on your local subnet, or across the broader internet. In your situation, a single license would allow you to create a SyncTogether server and two clients, one for each of you, with which you could selectively synchronize all of the .Mac Sync data types with the exception of keychains. Adding subsequent users would require the purchase additional licenses for each set of up to three additional users.

E52 MfE Choose which folders to sync ? Ordner für ...

different to my former E51, the MfE Client 3.0 on the E52 now synchronizies all folders and subfolders from the exchange mail account.
This is descriped as a new "Top" Feature, but i would prefer the "old way" - only synchronizing the inbox with no subfolders.
Why? I have a lot of folders / subfolders and no need to sync others than the inbox. It only takes much more time to sync and about 10 times as much data traffic, and so 10 times costs.
My Question: is there a possibility to turn off this feature, or even better to choose manually which folders have to be sync'd ?
If no - it would be an important requirement for the MfE 3.0

im Unterschied zu meinem früheren E51, synchronisiert der MfE Client 3.0 vom E52 nun auch alle Ordner und Unterordner meines Exchange Mailaccounts.
Nokia bewirbt dieses als neues "Top" Feature, aber ich würde den "alten Weg" bevorzugen und nur den Posteingang synchronisiert haben OHNE Unterordner.
Warum? Ich habe eine große Menge Ordner / Unterordner und keine Notwendigkeit andere Ordner als den Posteingang zu synchronisieren. Es braucht viel mehr Zeit und ca. 10 x soviel an Datenverkehr und daher auch die 10 fachen Kosten.
Meine Frage: gibt es eine Möglichkeit dieses neue Feature abzudrehen, oder noch besser manuell auswählen zu können, welche Folder synchronisiert werden sollen und welche nicht ?
Falls es dies nicht gibt, wäre es meiner Meinung nach eine wesentliche Forderung an Nokia dies in den MfE 3.0 Client einzubauen !

With iPhone 4, Voice memos and a faulty Sync, does anyone know how to get a VM which didn't sync at the time into the computer?

I have an iPhone 4 ISO 7and an iMac with Mavericks. During a sync with my phone there was a glitch and VM's did't get onto the computer. They are still on the phone. Is there a way of getting them onto the computer? Further attempts at sync were no solution. the computer will not read them it seems.

After spending 2.5 hours on the phone with Apple, the solution was to edit it, trim a second or 2 off one end, save it as new and the computer would recognize the new file. Great. Thanks. John

Which program for sync from ZV:M P

I was using Monkey Media to manage my MP3 files that were transfered from the ZV:M. I deleted all files on my PC for a fresh start to correct for errors. Now the Creative sync manager won't recognize the files. I read the following in the FAQ:

I was hoping that the free version of Monkey Media supported transfer from DAP to PC but that feature isn't available from what I see.
Are there any free programs that will allow me to transfer the 25 GB of MP3 files that I have stranded on my Zen?

Pay for the latest MM program, it is worth the money. It syncs my Zen Xtra a treat and drag and drop works, it also looks up tags and rips CDs. What else could you want?

Can you choose which apps to sync

Hi, I can see that on iTunes you can tick videos and songs to select if you want them to sync or not, how do you do this with apps? There does not seem to be a tick box even if I put it in list view

I have the latest iTunes and it seems to have reset my synce preferences. I have alot of files on my computer and when I hook my iPhone up to my computer it goes about syncing everything. This not only takes a long time but it is copying files that I don't want and don't have room for on my iPhone. How can I limit what is "sycnc"'d to my iPhone.?
