PFD files not loading correctly into iTunes Library

I have just upgraded to Mavericks. Now when I try to to "Load to Library" the PDF files are placed in the music section of iTunes, not the book section. Any help would be appreciated.

Mac Library file not loading in bootcamp itunes post 8.2 update

I use to have the itunes library file load from the mac partition when using itunes in my windows xp. Since the updates in itunes in both mac and windows I can't seem to load the library file anymore. The library loads fine in the mac partition but when trying to load it in my itunes in windows xp it shows an empty library now.
I have tried loading previous library files and uninstalling and reinstalling itunes on my windows partition. I can't seem to be able to do anything. I still would like to use my current mac itunes library as I am accustomed to the order which my songs are in.

I found a way to listen to my music but it is a hassle because I have to do all these steps every time I restart itunes.
Before doing anything make sure the itune library is a fresh one in windows.
1. Start itunes with the windows .itl loaded
2. Delete all previous songs as they are "missing" after quitting itunes
3. Import playlist using the itunes music library xml file
4. Wait about 10 minutes for itunes to process all the songs
Looks like I am stuck with this till there is a fix.

Music files not seen correctly by iTunes?

I have noticed a strange one this afternoon....and wondered if anyone can help?
I have just loadedimported music from two different purchased CDs into my itunes library on my macbook Pro.
I got no unusual messages, import appears to have been succesful and if I put one the same disks back in it tells me that these songs are alraedy in my itunes library.
I can also confirm that the Mp3 files are present and correct in my Itunes folders in their own indexed folders i.e. by album and artisit as you would expect.
However, there is something strange going on in that when I look for these albums, tracks or artists using the Itunes search box on my itunes library then it doesn't seem to be able to identify them for some reason and I can't just drag them over to the playlist for my ipod.
Never encountered this before - can anyone tell me what is going on?!!

Yes, it is a long-standing display bug in iTunes, that has been reported on both the Windows and Mac versions for several years.
When it occurs, the tracks really are in your library, but do not display in Music view. Usually they do show up in Recently Added, and of course, the files really are in the folders where they are supposed to be. Does that match what you are seeing?
Home remedies that people have reported may fix it are to restart your machine, or to download a song from the Store (e.g. a free single).

I have had iTunes for years and have never had prolonged or unsolvable problems with anything playback related until now. I recently acquired some music, and it plays perfectly when I use WMP. When I added it my iTunes library, however, the audio is compressed during playback and there is a lot of skipping and blips going on in every song. It still plays perfectly in WMP, but not matter what I do the same thing happens in iTunes.

I have a similar problem. When I try to play TV episodes that were downloaded (in .m4v format) using iTunes, QuickTime (7.0.4) will play video without audio, and when I press "stop", QuickTime locks up!
My system used to play these files PERFECTLY, until I downloaded some shareware video format conversion programs (that didn't work, anyway). I believe one of them installed a shared DLL or CODEC or something that is conflicting with QuickTime. I'VE UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED QUICKTIME AND ITUNES COUNTLESS TIMES, trying to follow different people's advice, mostly from posts on this site, but nothing helps!!
The thing we have in common is that it sounds like you also have other video software that could have conflicting CODECs or shared DLLs. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO TRACK THIS PROBLEM DOWN??
And why doesn't Apple make a CLEAN uninstaller and a COMPLETE installer? People shouldn't have to do the manual registry editing and file deletions that other people are recommending!!!!!

RAW files not importing correctly into iPhoto

I'm having problems importing .CR2 files into iPhoto. This didn't used to happen with Tiger, so I'm trying to figure out what the issue is. I'm using iPhoto 7.1.1 (354) with Leopard 10.5.1. I previously had 10.4.8.
I'm wondering if it's an issue with networking. Currently, my iPhoto Library is on a NAS because it's big (about 86GB) and I have RAID redundancy on the NAS. The original files are fine, but the imported files (not just the thumbnails) are corrupted. If there's a problem with data transmission, would that show as a data corruption?

TS1424 song did not download correctly to itunes library

We had purchased a song from the iTunes store, but tried to download it from our cloud to put it on the main iTunes library, but after it completed it would not play and could not be downloaded to our devices. Any solutions?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the problem track from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your track there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

Basler acA2500 not loading correctly into Vision

I have a acA2500-14uc Basler Ace USB3.0 that I'm using along with PXI-8135 controller. The camera works correctly in pylon viewer, but Vision assistant only lets me select 'Basler Generic' which only does monochrome and lacks many settings.
Before I updated vision through the internet, it was working correctly.

Before I saw your message, I uninstalled the camera from the Device Manager (which was identifying as a Basler Camera), and unistalled the pylon software. I replugged the camera back in and it installed as a NI Vision USB3 device. I checked in MAX and it ID'd correctly as the acA2500-14uc and had all of the same settings and ranges as the Basler pylon options. It is also working correctly in Vision Assistant now.
Is there any advantages to installing the Basler software package and using the Basler ID drivers? If not, this seems ok and I'd rather not try to mess around with driver conflict problems. My intent is to really only use this camera within LabVIEW.

What version of iTunes does she have? Updating it will have no impact on the songs in her library. As far as your PC, if you can't use iTunes you can use 3rd party software such as Winamp or Xplay.

Scanned Grayscale files not loading into iPhoto

I have just purchased a new iMac, having not been a Mac User before. I have been importing photos from an external (Windows formatted) hard drive with apparent success. However, on attempting to import some scanned jpegs (Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner) in 8 bit grayscale, I got the "unrecognised format message". No attempt at saving on the desktop and importing into iPhoto from there worked. I then loaded them into Photoshop Elements 4 on the Mac, and saved again as a standard jpeg, but with no luck. However, by chance I tried saving with the "Embed colour profile: Epson Gray - Gamma 1.8" option unchecked in PE4's "Save as" menu. This time the resulting jpeg file did load into iPhoto. Have you any ideas why the original image did not load and what is the significance of why the "non-embedded" image did. Is there a quick way to convert these images, if necessary, using this method - I have a lot of scanned images like this. Another feature which might confirm what is wrong here is that the in Photoshop Elements, the label at the top of the displayed image shows the jpeg name, then size as a %, and then (Gray/8*). The files which load correctly into iPhoto do not show this "*" in Photoshop.

Download and run *+Embed sRGB Profile 2+* on the grayscale photos by dropping the image files onto the Automator workflow application. You can get it from Toad's Cellar.
This will let you avoid having to rescan those files as RGB color.

I am no longer able to drag and drop a song file on my Mac desktop into iTunes library..anyone know why?

JollyGeri, after I installed the 10.5.3 version a few days ago I began to have the same problem. The first time i used iTunes after the new install is when the problem of not being able toI manipulate my music by dragging and dropping began. My computer is a Mac and it appears you are using Windows Vista so the solution to my problem will likely be different than yours. I'll just mention that on a mac there is a program called disk utility and with that we mac users can have it repair permissions. After a second attempt yesterday to repair permissions I was able to move music by dragging and dropping as I previously could. However, when I opened itunes today and tried, the same problem was back. I've used the disk utility program to repair permissions again but so far the problem persists. I hope someone is able to help you with your situation. If there is a similar type of program on your windows pc, perhaps by repairing the disk permissions you may be able to get your problem solved. This is very frustrating and I believe there is something in the new version of iTunes that has caused this because I have not installed any other upgreades, etc. since downloading and installing the itunes upgrade. Files not created with iTunes do not play from remote iTunes library

I hve ripped a large part of my CD collection into music files into FLAC format. I have since converted my music files from FLAC into Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC) format and imprted them into iTunes.
The files play with no problem on iTunes if they are on a local iTunes library. Furthermore, all metadata such as tags and album cover art information are properly displayed in iTunes. This is true whether I'm running iTunes on a Windows XP box or a Mac OS X box. I have since imported many other CDs into my iTunes library using iTunes to encode into ALAC.
If I share the iTunes library on my Windows XP machine to iTunes running on a Mac OS X box or to an Apple TV, I can:
*play songs that were imported directly using iTunes
*not play any songs that were not created with iTunes
This behavior is true whether I'm trying to play them from either a Mac or from an Apple TV.
If I copy the *.m4a files to the Mac and import them to the iTunes library I have no problems playing them on the Mac. I have not tried sharing the iTunes library on the Mac and tried accessing the files from the Apple TV or the Windows PC.
Any thoughts?

Fix: optimize m4a files moving the meta data to the beginning, whilst optionally creating a hint track (used for streaming m4a over Apple Airtunes).
