PFD reader closes automatically 5 secs after startup

Everytime I start up the PDF reader (v XI) it automatically closes after about 5 seconds.
Anybody here to help me with this?

Hi,
Do you have NVIDIA driver on your machine? Which version it is?
If yes, Then please try upgrading NVIDIA driver.
Actually issue is with NVidia drivers on the machine. Not only Reader but other major apps also crash due to issues in this module.
More information is provided in the below links
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance /mysterious-crashes-and-hangs-gadgets-crashes-word/6b358f03-cb53-414c- 81f2-daaa3c62bd49

If this didn't work then go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader and look for EULA.exe.
Double click it and accept license agreement. Now, Reader should work fine.
Please revert if none of these help you.

  • Safari 6.0.5 Crashing 5-10 Secs After Startup?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
Bought my roommate's MacBook Pro yesterday and did a clean install of Mountain Lion from flash drive. Updated to 10.8.4. Safari worked fine until I installed Flash Player (from Adobe's website). I have also installed Adobe CS6 Master Collection and updated Flash Player from there as well. Ever since installing Flash Player, Safari crashes about 5-10 seconds after startup and says "Safari Web Content quit unexpectedly."
I have tried deleting caches, plist files, and even wiping the system again and starting the whole process over. I have repaired permissions and still get the same problem. Chrome works fine but I prefer Safari. My desktop does not have this problem. Thank you again for your help!
    See crash log:
    http://pastebin.com/ANZLMCdV

This crash is caused by a bug in iCloud. The only workaround that I know of at the moment is to disable Safari synchronization in the iCloud preference pane. Sync bookmarks with iOS devices in iTunes instead. You may also need to do as follows.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the text on the line below to the clipboard, then copy it to the Clipboard (command-C):
    ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
    Quit Safari.
    Select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the Finder menu bar. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window should open with a file named "Bookmarks.plist" selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the folder open.
Relaunch Safari. It will open with the default set of bookmarks. Delete them all. Select
    File ▹ Import Bookmarks
from the Safari menu bar. Import from the bookmarks file you moved to the Desktop. Arrange the bookmarks as you wish.
If Safari now performs normally, you can delete the old bookmarks file. Otherwise, quit Safari again and put back the file you moved, replacing the newer one with the same name. Close the Finder window and post again.

  • Acrobat Reader 9.1.x freezes after startup

    Hello,
Our Acrobat Reader is having problems on some machines during startup that it completly freezes after startup.
I've traced this with procmon and have seens that a certain file "sharedEvents" is trying to to somthing buth it is hanging on
lock - unlock. Killing All process of Acrobat Reader and deleting this file and then re-starting the program isn't helping because it keeps 0 kb and the mentioned behaviour is trying to do something with this file.
the file can be found in %appdata%\adobe\acrobat\9.0
Our profile's is redirected , it is working for most of the users but some users are having this problem.
Can anybody tell me what Acrobat Reader is doing with this file and is there a work around to initialize everything back again so the
user can startup the program normally so it is not freezing after startup without having to remove and install it back again ?
    Best regards,
    Bert

    Hi,
The problem I'm having is a problem on the journal file. After some more investigating it look that the problem can be related to oplocks since we have enbaled oplocks on our server (were the file is placed trough folder redirection). We will check this ...
I've already disabled oplocks on client side and then everything is working however we are using Vista in combination with offline files and if you disbale oplocks then offline files will not work so we are looking a bith further to see what we can do on server side ... to be continued ...
    Best regards,
    Bert

  • How can I keep Adobe Reader from closing 30 secs after I open it? Windows Vista

My Adobe Reader closes after 30 seconds or so of being opened. I've been making changes to some of my windows settings in an effort to reduce risk of viruses and malware, etc. I don't know why it affected the time Adobe is allowed to stay open and so don't know how to fix the problem. How can I fix this?

    Three things to try:
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Acrobat and Reader XI freeze 3 secs after opening (force close needed). Win 8.1. Restart usually removes problem, sometimes repair.

    Please help.
Running Adobe Acrobat and reader XI ( latest versions). PC is Lenovo ThinkPad 440 S. Don't think I've got any plug-ins that are affecting this, but Dragon NaturallySpeaking is installed on PC, and I know this sometimes causes problems with some programs.
I can uninstall and reinstall either of the programs, and sometimes after a day or a week the problem returns. Restarting the computer will usually cause it to disappear for awhile and then it returns. The freeze is always the same, about three seconds after opening a document, it freezes and I have to close the program and restart the computer if I want the program to work again. I've tried switching off the security settings as suggested a number of websites, and this sometimes seems to help, but the problem nevertheless returns. I've got Acrobat on trial, and would like to buy, but I'm not going to do so and as this problem can be solved.
I've tried installing the programs multiple times, both clean install and repair and this doesn't stop the problem from happening, and it's happened over the two latest updates to the programme with no success. Out of interest, I've also noticed it doesn't always save my preferences between opening the program (e.g. page view preferences).
    Many thanks for any input,
    Jason Anderson

    Hi Jason,
I would recommend you to do a selected startup and then enable the programs one by one to isolate which program might be causing this.
Please refer the KB: Restart Windows in a modified mode | Windows 7, Vista for selective startup of Windows.

  • Adobe reader closes automatically while table entry is added by add button

    Hi Team,
I am new in adobe form. I have developed an adobe interactive form using livecycle designer integrated with SAP. My form has a table and under that there is an add button. When the form is opened in adobe reader and  add button is clicked, I have written a javascript code which appends a new entry in the table above. Everything is fine upto here.
Now when I keep on clicking the add button, new entries are created and table grows. But when the table populates the current page and grows to populate the next page, suddenly the adobe form closes. I think there is an inconsistancy happening as my configuration for the table or the subform wrapping the table and the add button is conflicting.
Could you guys give me some advise on this. I can provide screenshots or the adobe document on request.
    Thanks,
    Mainak

    Hi,
I would say you are definitely coming up against memory restrictions. There are a couple of posts by John Brinkman that I would recommend.
First I would look at why the form is 6Mb and see if you can reduce this down. For example, select fonts that are already in Reader (like Myriad Pro) and then deselect Embed Fonts in the File > Form Properties > Save Options. Also do not embed images into the form. See:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2010/02/big_and_complex_forms.html.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2010/09/xdp-size-matters.html.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2009/11/linked_vs_embedded_template_im.html.
Next look at your script. You mention loops, so check is your script efficient. For example, use xfa.resolveNodes() once outside of the loop, instead of xfa.resolveNode() inside the loop. Make sure that variables are declared. See:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2011/10/script-performance-exercise.html.
    http://assure.ly/kUP02y.
Also check for any script that you have in events that fire frequently, like layout:ready event and comment these out. See.
    http://assure.ly/nB0Bvz.
The dataset seems very large at 2Mb. Does this include image data? It may be that the user is interacting with the form, while it is still trying to process the XML and the loops.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Acrobat 10 reader closes automatically

This is really odd. On a WIndows XP /sp3 machine I had Acrobat 8. Upgraded to latest version today (10.x) If I double click an acrobat file it loads, then closes 8 seconds later. If I open Acrobat first and drag the file to that window it works fine.
How can I tell what's causing this odd behavior and then fix it?

Try disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • Adobe Reader Closes automatically while the form is large

All the functions are working fine but
when the form is large and user navigates different panel (via clicking the button) the the PDF is closed automatically.
    Example : - In the PDF I have two Panel/Tabs Like P1 , P2 . When I clicks,
P1 - Some calcaulation (Reading the data from XML and N Number of loops and calculate value)
P2 - To View the Value based on the P1 calcuation
    Problem : -
If user Clicks P2 then calcuation is working Ok and clicks p1 then Adobe Reader Closed.
If User Clicks P2 and clicks P1 then OK but user clicks again p2 and p1 then Adobe Reader Closed.
Adobe Reader automatically closed first time or 2nd or 3rd......
But I having these issue only for Large PDF. Current issue PDF has 6 MB and the exported XML is 2 MB .

  • ICal crashing about 15 secs after startup

I am unable to use iCal anymore. Anytime I start it, less than 1 minute later, Conflict Resolver starts up and tells me that I have 3 conflicts involving Calandars and the iCal shuts down. Even if I review the conflicts, nothing happens and the next time I start iCal I get the same reminder.
Can I blow away Conflict Resolver? Where is it defined? I assume it is part of iSync. If I disable iSync will that help?
I will add to this that I reinstalled iSync and the conflict resolver message did not happen but still iCal shut down.
One thing that may be involved is that today I configured iTunes to load my calendar and contacts onto my iPod. I'm going to disable that and see if iCal will stay up ... although I think this has been happening for a few days and I thought I had inadvertently shut it down.

I also have this problem but it has not been resolved through removing the preferences for iCal or iSync. The only 'fix' I have found to prevent iCal from crashing is to disable sync'ing in iSync. But that also disables sync'ing my Palm, which is not much of a fix.
Any ideas? I haven't found a fix in any of the other posts.
    Will MissingSync solve this?

  • Automatically close a af:popup after X seconds

    Hi everybody,
Is there a way to close automatically a popup after X seconds ?
I don't see a solution for now and users don't want to click on the "Ok" button...
    Thanks for your help,
    Vincent.

Or if you don't want to use a note window, you can put an af:poll component in the popup and close the popup in the pollListener attached to the poll component close the popup.

  • Offline adobe form closes automatically on Vista while its works in XP

    Hi Experts,
I have a problem in which the 100 % offline adobe form is not working on vista machine while the same is working in XP. The form closes automatically on vista machine using acrobat reader 9.3 version while the form is trying to load data from a webservice to populate the dropdowns. It is working fine in all XP machine with Acrobat reader 9.0.
The form are created using ALC 8.1 and Interactive form element has display type = ActiveX.
Please can you provide some solution to the problem, does any setting like buffer size etc needs to be added/increased on vista. I had asked user to downgrade the acrobat reader version to 9.0 on vista machine to eliminate one factor and waiting for result.
    Regards
    Deepak

    Hi Chintan,
Thanks for the advice. I had already asked the user to downgrade the adobe reader version.
I know that ZCI is available for the release currently being used and should be used, but the forms were designed some 7-8 months back and currently UAT is going on, so I need to fix this issue quickly.
I had already planned to move the forms to ZCI after UAT.
Now, the single forms behave differently (some fields/pages visible/hidden and populated accordingly) based on the input provided by user. There are 39 different scenarios in which the forms runs.
Now for the user on vitsa, the form is working for 10-15 scenarios but the adobe reader closes automatically for other scenarios. The only thing I can think of is that data volume for non working scenario is more to be populated in the forms. While all the scenarios are working fine in XP machine.
Have you faced this kind of issue, looks like buffer/memory issue on vista machine as the adobe reader closes without showing any error to the user?
    Regards
    Deepak

  • Adobe reader 10 and 11 crashes after 3-5 sec.

adobe reader 10 and 11 crashes after 3-5 sec. it newer gets fully opened, it just closes. the problem is all my pdf files on my computer. and they work fine on my other labtop. tryed to repair, remove, install many times

Can you try this next: navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader (if you have Reader XI installed), or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader (Reader XI on 64-bit Windows), and double-click on Eula.exe, then accept the license agreement.
    Does that fix the problem?

  • Why pdf files close automatically after a few seconds?

I recently re-installed Acrobat XI Pro and when I now open a pdf files it closes automatically after a few seconds - any one knows why and how to solve this problem?

You may have to reinstall or do a repair, one of the two. I would start with the repair from the help menu. Then do the updates also in the help menu. See if that fixes the issue. If not, you may have to reinstall. If you reinstall, use http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html and then remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and reinstall. Then do the updates.
