Pgp encryption now not working after mountain lion upgrade (mac book 2009), any solutions?

I have a 2009 mac book and installed pgp whole disc encryption. I have been using since 2011. I wanted to upgrade to Mountain lion and decrypted the disc. I installed Mountain lion and now I am told that the pgp will not operate. I need a solution asap. Thanks.

Guys, thanks for the assistance. I took it to IT guys in work who recommended using filevault which I agreed. However, when the computer was to restart, the apple logo appeared and then a "prohibited" symbol accompanied by the fantastic spinning wheel of death.
Now it will not boot. I have tried entering option + R and restoring from a time machine/capsule backup. However, it will find the relevant backup (I backed the machine up prior to decrypting etc) but is stuck on "Searching for disks...".
Is my only solution to reinstall Mountain lion and then restore from a backup? Any solutions would be of great assistance. I had downloaded mountain lion from the app store. How do I reinstall the software in such circumstances?
Thanks.

I had this problem this AM.  Tried lots of crazy things. Tried the rebuild (Hold the Option & Cmd keys) and open iPhoto.  That didnot help.
I repaired my permissions and BAM!  That worked!

  • Internet sharing from Wifi to Ethernet is not working after Mountain Lion upgrade

First I was having trouble just connecting these two, now I can't get the Internet sharing to work. Here's what I am trying to do: I want to share my Macbook Pro's internet connection from it's Wifi to another laptop I have connected via ethernet cable. They will ping each other now. The problem now is that the laptop won't pick up the Internet connection from the Macbook Pro, even though I have it configured exactly as I had in Snow Leopard. Nothing has changed on the laptop from before when it worked fine with Snow Leopard. But now that I updated to Mountain Lion, Internet sharing no longer works no matter what I try. I've been trying to find a solution by to no avail. Could anyone here offering some advice or a solution that will fix my problem? I've been over the basic steps over and over again, so please don't ask me to do something stupid like reboot or check the Sharing settings. They're exactly how they are meant to be, but the thing just won't work.

Ran a TCPdump on my Macbook Pro. It is recieving the ping requests, but the laptop still isn't getting replies to its pings. So something is wrong in the Macbook's configuration somewhere. I don't know where, though.

  • Contacts Not Working After Mountain Lion Upgrade

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I noticed that all my contacts within the Contacts app were missing. The groups were still listed, just not any entries.  I've tried removing and re-adding contacts from iCloud through preferences and have also tried to completely sign out of iCloud and then back in.  Nothing has helped.  I noticed that within Contacts, the default account was set to iCloud. I tried changing this to 'on my mac', and doing so did bring in my contacts. However, I'm not able to select and see  details for any of my cards. On the right pane, it still displays the message "No Cards" when a name is selected.  When reverting back to iCloud as the default account, all my contacts disappear. Contacts is responding very slowly and I continuously get a pinwheel when trying to navigate.  PLEASE HELP!

Had a client with this issue, contacts were still on iCloud. I went to System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > selected the iCloud account and unchecked Contacts. When it asked if I wnated to Delete the contacts on the Mac I said yes (they are on iCloud and he has a Time Machine backup.) I waited for the Contacts application to update the change, then checked the box for contacts and they started downloading form iCloud. Hope this helps.

  • Facetime not working after Mountain Lion update

I have a Macbook Pro. After I updated to Mountain Lion (from Lion), Facetime no longer works. I've tried with multiple people, but they aren't receiving my calls and I'm not receiving their calls. In Lion Facetime worked fine, but now it's not working. I also can't get iMessages to work. This is very frustrating, because I was really looking forward to iMessages. My Macbook Pro is still new, I purchased it in the first week August (2012). It came with Lion already installed. It's only 2 months old now. So I know my computer can support all of Mountain Lion's features. By the way, I'm running on Mountain Lion 10.8.2. Any help would be great! Thanks

    Hi,
The two may be linked as there is a common support app called IMAgent that helps with both Messages and FaceTime.
    Shut down both apps.
With the Finder as the Front App > use the Go Menu > Hold down ALT key and select Library.
In the Library find and open th Preferences Folder
Find com.apple.IMAgent.plist and drag it to the Trash
Before restarting the App now go to Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities.
Find imagent (it  is in lower case).
Highlight and use the Quit button.
    Now restart the app(s).
This will recreate the .plist  from defaults.

  • IMessage Not Working Since Mountain Lion Upgrade

Since I "upgraded" my iMac and MacBook Air to Mountain Lion, iMessage delivery is hit and miss to the say the least from my iPhone 4S.  I first realised there was an issue receiving text messages whilst in the States and not connected to WiFi. Messages weren't even being received as text messages, even but would all come through as a flood from my girlfriend when I connected to WiFi.
At the weekend she dropped her iPhone 4 and the screen is duff so she's swapped her SIM into a spare BlackBerry until it's repaired.  Gues what? She can text me but my 4S is still trying to reply by iMessage and none of them are being resent/sent as text messages.
It's useless having a mobile phone that will effectively only communicate by voice and e-mail and no basic texting. It wouldn't be so bad if it actualy said the messages were failing.

Were you running os x 10.6 before the upgrade?
Anyway photoshop cs2 won't work on mountain lion because cs2 is a PowerPC application
and mountain lion can only run intel applications natively like photoshop cs3-cc.
If you were using 10.6, then you were using rossetta, an application that allowed some powerpc programs to run on an intel mac and mountain lion doesn't have rossetta.
The current versions of photoshop available from adobe are photoshop cs6 and photoshop cc, but since cs2 is out
of the upgrade loop now, so you need to either buy the full version of photoshop cs6 or subscribe to photoshop cc.

  • Upgrade to Mountain Lion/Upgrade Mac Book?

I know it's only $20 bucks and not too concerned about Air Play, but any advice on upgrading a Mac Book (2008) to ML or should I consider waiting to upgrade Mac Book Pro? I don't want to upgrade if I'm just going to end up with a shiny new wall paper back ground. Thanks

No. The newest OS that Mac can be upgraded to is Lion 10.7.5.

  • HT1338 early 2012 macbook air clamshell mode not working after mountain lion update

Can't make 2012 MBA 13" work in clamshell mode after updating to Mountain Lion.  All peripheral devices are connected, as is AC power.  Closing lid causes external monitor to enter sleep mode (presumably, the MBA is going to sleep as well).
Power settings are set to stay awake when on AC power.
    Thank you.

  • Clock not working after mountain lion

Hey, upgraded to mountain lion and now my clock wont sync to current time.  I have checked timezone and tried to reset, all I get is the pinwheel when I hover the mouse over it.  I have restarted several times.  Appreciate any insight.  Worked fine before the upgrade
    Thanks

Open Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) and then run Repair Disk Permissions, to be safe run RDP at least 2x. If that does not work you can try some basic resets such as a iMac SMC and PRAM reset and also restarting in Safe Mode which will clear some caches. It's possible a cache is corrupt.

  • Thunderbolt is not working after Mountain Lion installed

I'm putting this discussion again because the problem didn't solve like I thought !
As you can see from the title that I have a problem already after I installed the new OS X Mountain Lion. I got my thunderbolt to Hdmi adabtor connected to an LCD TV and it was working great with snow lepord. But after the I installed Mountain Lion. it won't even recognize that there is something connected and I don't see the options in my System Prefrences> Diplays like before.
I already run software update and it's all up to date and also done a PRAM reset and nothing changed.
It only ok for a couple of min. if I restarted it and without the sound working from the LCD TV.
    Please I need help here.

Well I would have hit repair. This might be stemming from a deeper issue with the installation. I've never seen that dialogue box before, and if ignoring it and booting normally worked for you then I say you did the right thing.
    however
I would, go to disk utility and then select your boot drive and verify and repair disks and permissions.
if anything else WEIRD should occur, you may want to go to the recovery partition of ML (cmd+R while hearing the boot chime) and reinstalling ML. That dialogue box you mentioned is strange and should be noted. A reinstall will probably fix whatever issue comes up.

  • Safari does not work after Mountain Lion download.

Downloaded Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  Got system up and running.  Safari icon is present, but will not respond--cannot get on line.  Firefox works normally, though.  Tried downloading Safari update--no luck.  Ideas? Solutions?

What exactly happens when you try to use Safari? Does it launch? Does the menu bar appear? Does a window open? Any error message?
