PGP Keys aren't imported

I'm running a new installation on a laptop. I downloaded the .iso I'm using last night, burned to a cd. Everything so far was smooth until I tried installing the base system straight out of the guide.
pacstrap /mnt base
When it checks keys at the end though every one gives the response
error: key "name of key" could not be imported
I tried the wiki's suggestions of replacing the server in /etc/pacman.d/gnupg/gpg.conf  to the different servers listed here including MIT's server which is explicitly suggested in the Wiki in case of ISP problems.
I've tried various combinations of pacman-key --populate archlinux, --init, and --refresh-keys. Also I've rebooted a number of times and tried both wired and wireless connections
Thanks for any help you can give

You will need a new keyboard. AppleCare does not cover accidental damage.

  • [SOLVED] Fresh Install Error - Issue with PGP Key 4096R/753E0F1F

    Hello Guys,
This is my first topic. I have done all the research in this forum and in Google for the issue, with no luck in finding a solution. I have done several Arch linux installs before on Virtual Machines and PC's all of them working properly, except for this one that I can not get to pass the install phase.
    Description of Hardware:
HP Laptop Pavilion Entertainment PC dv2-1030us
    Athlon AMD Processor
    4 GB RAM
    300GB HD
    ATI Video Card
Broadcom wireless Card (Default drivers Not Working)
    Wired Network Card (Working)
I'm trying to install Arch from USB drive created from another arch machine via:
    sudo dd if=/name_of_file.iso of=/dev/sdX
    Using Arch Version:
    Current Release: 2014.08.01
    Included Kernel: 3.15.7
    ISO Size: 559.0 MB
The above bootleable USB drive have been used to install Arch in another machine currently running it.
After creating the partitions on the drive, namely:
    BOOT
    SWAP
    ROOT
    HOME
And formatting them accordingly to the install guide, and having the system ready to download all the base and base-devel packages via:
    pacstrap -i /mnt base base-devel
Right after it finishes downloading I get the following error:
    downloading required keys in keyring...
    :: Import PGP key 4096R/753E0F1F, "Anatol Pomozov <[email protected]>", created: 2014-02-04? [Y/n] y
error: key "Anatol Pomozov <[email protected]>" could not be imported
error: required key missing from keyring
error: failed to commit transaction (unexpected error)
Errors occurred, no packages were installed.
==> ERROR: Failed to install packages to new root
I first ignored the error and then tried to proceed with the installation process and executed the following sequences of commands:
    genfstab -U -p /mnt >> /mnt/etc/fstab
and then tried to chroot with:
    arch-chroot /mnt
Then i got the following error:
mount: mount point /mnt/etc/resolv.conf does not exist
chroot: failed to run command "/bin/sh": No such file or directory
Here is list of the Topics i Found in this forum that throw some light into the issue, some of the solutions I have tried with no luck at all:

I hope you can help find a direction where to start fixing this issue, since i feel pretty lost right now. By the way I'm a Newbie in the Arch Linux world, so there are a lot of thing that are not that obvious to me...
    Thank you in advance.

I've had the same issue with an (outdated) Arch Linux iso. As far as I am aware, it is caused by pacman's keys becoming out of date.
I've managed to get around this before, but the exact method eludes me.
You could try just updating the archlinux-keyring package, by refreshing pacman (pacman -Sy), then reinstalling only that package (try pacman -S archlinux-keyring).
Then you should be able to continue as normal.
Note that this only affects the CD filesystem in RAM - it will not persists across reboots using the CD.
The reason why this might work is that the package archlinux-keyring might not be signed by the key you were having issues with. If it still fails, you could temporarily set the SigLevel for the core repo to 'Never', however this does disable package signing, at least until you reset the SigLevel.
Unfortunately, I could not replicate the problem in a Qemu VM, so I'm not sure how good my method is. Hopefully, it fixes the problem.
Here are some links that might help shed some light:

  • Can't set the correct key when converting imported audio to GB loops

    Hi,
I feel I am really out of options for this one. I am trying to convert a couple of mp3 files to useful GarageBand loops. This is what I tried first:
    1) drag the mp3 file on the timeline.
    2) using a steady 4-beat, match the BPM settings to that it fits the tempo of the imported file
    3) check the key of the imported file with a software instrument, and switch the project's key accordingly
    4) Edit -> Add to Loop Library
Using this method, the produced loops show up in the Loops Browser correctly, but they play back in the wrong key. Example: I created a loop from a mp3 file that was originally played in A. I tagged it as being in the "A" key by creating a loop from it, with the project key set to "A".
When it then shows up in the Loop Browser, and I would select this loop with my Garageband project (still) set to "A" - I would expect to hear the loop being played in its original key.
It doesn't. It plays about four or five semitones too high (the difference between A and C, or C and E)
I haven't been able yet to figure out why this is so, or if there is any pattern in how much the key is off.
Then I searched far & wide, and found the Apple Loop Utility and a couple of articles on bulletsandbones.com. I also checked the midi import settings, though I doubt whether they have any influence here. They were set at 44.1 KHz.
This is what I tried then:
    1) use bulletsandbones.com's never-fail conversion to AIF format (44.1 KHz sample rate, 16 bit)
    2) use the Apple Loop Utility to "tag" the AIF file, setting it so that it shows up in the right category of the loop browser, etc.
    3) also, use this utility to tag it with the key that the loop is played in
    4) copy the AIF file into the Loop Library directory
    5) start Garageband, and refresh / re-index the Loop Library so that the new loop is added and properly indexed
This made no difference. Or maybe it did, but the loops thus produced STILL do not play back in the key that I tagged them in (if I set the project accordingly, of course). It's completely mystifying.
I can omit a key indicator in the Apple Loop Utility, and only then does the loop play back as it should. But then it does not change with the project's key settings anymore.
Even more strange: even a loop that I tagged (in the "A" key) and saved with the Apple Loop Utility, plays back too high in that same Apple Loop Utility when I re-open it. It does play back correctly in Finder's Fast Preview.
I could not find any mention of this problem elsewhere. Does anyone have a suggestion what might cause this?

I think this is the culprit:
    3) check the key of the imported file with a software instrument, and switch the project's key accordingly
If the "follow tempo & pitch" box is checked, this might change the sample's pitch and throw GB off.
Try to determine the sample's key before you import it, set the GB project's key accordingly, and then import the sample. That should assign it the correct key!

  • Create key mapping using import manager for lookup table FROM EXCEL file

    hello,
i would like create key mapping while importing the values via excel file.
the source file containing the key, but how do i map it to the lookup table?
the properties of the table has enable the creation of mapping key. but during the mapping in import manager, i cant find any way to map the key mapping..
    eg
    lookup table contains:
    Material Group
    Code
    excel file contain
    MatGroup1  Code   System
    Thanks!
    Shanti

    Hi Shanti,
Assuming you have already defined below listed points
    1)  Key Mapping "Yes" to your lookup table in MDM Console
    2) Created a New Remote System in MDM console
    3) proper rights for your account for updating the remote key values in to data manager through import manager.
Your sample file can have Material Group and Code alone which can be exported from Data Manager by File-> Export To -> Excel, if you have  data already in Data Manager.
Open your sample file through Import Manager by selecting  the remote system for which you want to import the Key mapping.
(Do Not select MDM as Remote System, which do not allows you to maintain key mapping values) and also the file type as Excel
Now select your Soruce and Destination tables, under the destination fields you will be seeing a new field called [Remote Key]
Map you source and destination fields correspondingly and Clone your source field code by right clicking on code in the source hierarchy and map it to Remote Key if you want the code to be in the remote key values.
And in the matching criteria select destination field code as a Matching field and change the default import action to Update NULL fields or UPDATED MAPPED FIELDS as required,
After sucessfull import you can check the Remote Key values in Data Manager.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

I sprayed it a year ago i really like the keyboard and i really need it can it be recovered??? My apple wireless keyboard got wet a year ago i sprayed the cleaning spray on it some of the keys are working but some of the keys aren"t working. it got sprayed a year ago What should i do??? Can it be recovered plz tell?

There is almost no chance it can be recovered, except at a cost far greater than a new keyboard.  Once wet, spraying with a cleaner will not do any good and most likely will make the situation worse.
Best thing at this point is go to your Apple store, or the on-line store, and buy a new keyboard.  Water damage is not covered by the warranty or AppleCare.

  • My volume keys aren't functioning correctly?

Well, I just got a brand new keyboard for my iMac, and it's a bit different from my previous keyboard.
My volume keys aren't working when I try pressing it, and the only way I am able to raise/lower the volume is by going to the top right hand corner and raise/lower the volume with my mouse.
It gets pretty annoying sometimes when I have to constantly use my mouse to raise/lower the volume, instead of just pressing two buttons on my keyboard.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
    Thanks!

    Is it an Apple Keyboard?
If so what about pressing fn+VolumeUp/VolumeDown

  • Failure to install Arch Linux via netinstall AIF; PGP key issues

    Hello,
I'm am attempting a fresh install Arch Linux on a clean machine: Dell 1420, 4GB RAM. I am using the archlinux-2012.02.09_04-00-01-netinstall-dual.iso installer.
Installation progresses nicely through the package selection (I choose core, core-dev, xfce, and xorg packages only, to keep it simple for now). The packages download quickly, and then the installation fails during installation indicating that none of the PGP keys are known for any of the downloaded files. The process essentially aborts and I press 'Continue' returning me to the main menu. I have repeated this process several times.
What needs to be done to install Arch Linux?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Thanks, I have been through the Beginners Guide. I just want to get Arch Linux to "start" with a very basic GUI. during one of my installation iterations I did install only 'core' files, but the same failure occurred. so I'm at a loss as to how to get even a basic installation to take hold. Thoughts on the pgp key issues?
    Thanks.
Update: I've switched to using the default net installer (2011.08.19) and the installation succeeded!

  • Seahorse: Cannot Create a PGP Key (And Now Hangs on Start)

Opening seahorse and trying to create a new PGP key does nothing.  The program also seems to be unstable and crashes every now and then, too.
EDIT: I installed gnome-keyring and now the process hangs whenever I try to start it.
I would like to be more specific, but opening seahorse in the console does not give any information.
Update: It appears that seahorse does not like making new keys.  After a reboot, I find the key I tried to create in my keying, but any attempt to create a second key results in the same hanging as before.  Another reboot and seahorse acts normal, unless you try to make a key.

Sorry, I should have added this error message that I get when trying to move the rejected clips to the trash:
The operation could not be completed. * -[NSPlaceholderMutableDictionary initWithObjects:forKeys:]: number of objects (0) not equal to number of keys (4)
Perhaps this will help someone with nailing down what the issue is.
    Thanks again.

  • Set Key Field in Import Manager

    Hi All,
I have 2 fields in my source file(name, category) .category(look up Field) is the key field and name(display Field) is the matching field.
    I got file like this......
    Name                  category
    1                           A
    1                           B
    1                           C
While importing i got an error stating that Import failed. The destination record was referred to by multiple source records. Duplicate source records should be merged before importing them.
Import action: Update (All Mapped Fields)Source record no: 1
But in this case my key field is Category based on category  then these 3 records will be 3 different records.
Please let me know the  use of Set Key field in the Import Manager and how it works?

    Hi,
It's not about set of key field in MDM Import Manager but the reason is that you can not select more than 1 category(Lookup Taxonomy) in maintable for one record. thats why error is coming because for this Property Multi-valued always No.
Even, you can try this in Data Manager manually create three Category A, B and C in taxonomy mode on selecting Sub table Categories, then on selecting main table, when you select category field(which is lookup to categories table)for a particular record you could able to select only one category A, B or C.
i would suggest make a Attribute of type text having three values A, B and C and mark this as Multi-Valued in Attribute Detail and link this Attribute with your category. in this way you can attach three values A, B and C with your Record.
Other thing you can do,make this category field as (Lookup Hierarchy not lookup taxonomy) in main table to Subtable(Hierarchy) then for this field in main table you can set Property Multi-valued = Yes in MDM console and then after Import using MDM Import Manager finally only one record will get created in Data Manager as:
    Name Category
    1         A;B;C
    Hope it will Help you,
    Rewards if Useful.....

  • Populating custom foreign key using EIM Import

    Hi,
This is regarding a requirement wherein we are trying to populate the custom foreign key in the siebel base table using the EIM import.
The table being used are as .
    S_CL_PTCL_LS ----> having vanilla PRDINT_ID foreing key to S_PROD_INT
S_CL_PTCL_LSXM--> Created custom colum x_prod_id as foreing key to S_PROD_INT
using EIM_CL_PTCL_LS ---> Created mapping for the custom foreign key field to resolve the UK cols.(NAME,BU_ID,VENDR_OU_ID)
When we are executing the EIM import PRDINT_ID column foreing key to S_PROD_INT is getting resolved properly; however the custom column x_prod_id as foreing key to S_PROD_INT in S_CL_PTCL_LSXM is not getting resolved.
The data for the resolution is same for both the mappings.
Can some let me know if it is possible to do such import for custom foreign keys/this import is only possible for the vanilla foreign key refrences.
    Warm Regards,
    Ashutosh

    Hi,
I think the custom FK may be a mistake.
PAR_ROW_ID is the foreign key from S_CL_PTCL_LSXM to S_CL_PTCL_LS. You don’t have to create your own FK to do something that Siebel provides OOTB.
Please check that you really need the custom FK. I don't think you do. You should simply join to S_CL_PTCL_LS and then to S_PROD_INT. This is Siebel Tools 101 but I have seen this mistake many times.

  • Error in dropping primary key constraint after import.

    hi all,
i am getting the following probelm can some one help me
Usually if we drop the primary constarint the index created on the primary key will also be drop automatically.when i do export and import of particular schema and after the import if i drop the primary key constraint , the index created on the primary key is still existing .
i am using the oracle 10g database and export and import utility.
i am facing this problem on windows 2003 server
can some one help what was going wrong.
    thank you in advance.
    kalyan

if you dont want the constraint and index then control it in the import itself.
    eg:- imp constraints=n indexes=n
