Phantom email/objects in iPhone4 inbox

Strange unclickable objects appear every few hours in my inbox (gmail) on my new iPhone4 - Timestamp is 12/31/69 or 12/31/00. See screenshots at

Anyone else with this issue ? I tried resetting the phone, deleting/re-adding mail account, even a different gmail account - same strange stuff.

I have it too, and I also use gmail.I think it's something to do with when you delete (now it says "archive") messages, it keeps a ghost of it. Sometimes mine have vanished, sometimes not. They drive me nuts! I only use gmail so I can't test it with anything else, but I think its just some weird glitch. I get both the 12/31/00 and the 12/31/69 phantoms. The first time I got just one like that from '69 and I couldn't open it I almost had a heart attack...lol!

Ok, since upgrading to Mountain Lion, when I reply to an email from the Global Inbox it incorrectly selects just my main business email account, even if the email was sent to a completely different persoanl address. This use to work without issue in Lion. I have at least a half dozen accounts that all come into the "Global Inbox" and I never worried about what account I was replying from as it always matched the account the email was originally sent to.
Now in Mountain Lion, this is broken and no matter what email I select it defaults to my main account and I have to remember to manually select the proper reply address from the drop down menu. So far the only way to avoid this is the keep all the separate account Inboxes showing and then selecting the account that I want to view. Then when I repy it is to the correct address, but having to do this makes the "Global Inbox" view completely worthless! If I have to select teh correct Inbox to get the proper reply address every time then what is the point of having a Global View?

When you compose a message right click on the attachement and choose "View as Icon".
I know there was a Terminal command to set all attachements as icons by default but never tried it :
- You can also use the Terminal (in your Applications folder > Utilities) quit Mail, and type in the Terminal :
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -boolean yes
- To restore the original settings type :
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -boolean no

Is there anyway I can merge my mobileme email and my two other email accounts into one inbox on my iphone 3g? It is a pain selecting back to another account then forward to another inbox.

In other words
I tell a friend if he is emailing me on a particular subject, is there something he can do at his end ([email protected]/research)
like adding the word research at the end of my eamil address that would tell my inbox to place that in the inbox/research folder?
If I have to use a rule on my end, then do I tell him to just place the word research in the subjct line and then I write a rule to place anything with the word research in the subject line in my inbox/research folder?
will the subject line be required to only have the one word research to work, or will the rule look for any presense of that word in the subject line?

iCloud email supports 'plus' addressing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_address#Address_tags
So your friend could just add '+research' to the username part of your email address, and you setup a rule at icloud.com to put all emails sent to that address into a particular folder.
For example:

There's no way to do it without rules on the server though.

You CAN delete all your email. Here's how: >> Open Inbox >> Edit >> Check/select the top message; it will highlight the move button. >> Press and hold the move button and uncheck the message that you had checked earlier. >> Lift all your fingers off from the ipad screen and leave it alone. Wait until all your messages pile up on the right hand portion of the screen (in ipad); iphone will give you the actual number of emails it has selected for the action. I use an email client that notify's you when a new email arrives in your inbox. On IE a window pop's up to let you know whith a chime. In Firefox the window opens but with no chime. Is there an extention or add on that will do this?

Is the notifier part of the email program? Is it an independent program like poptray? If it is separate from Firefox, it really shouldn't matter which browser you are using. Unless the notification is within IE.

How can email sync between iphone4 and mac?

I want to read email once on either my iPhone4 or Mac, then delete the email from BOTH DEVICES. I don't want to read the same email on my iPhone4 and my Mac.

it will only remove deleted mails when you sync it with the computer
and only one accounts that are set as sync accounts so not when you set them up on the iphone itself
in which case it's a standalone account not a sync one
synced accounts are created in the info tab on the iphone when connected to itunes
otherwise you have to make sure that your email account is pop3 rather then imap and that it's set to delete
mails from server when downloaded that should work
but it needs to be set on both the iphone and the computer

You can't expect Mail to support all the objects of Pages which can include anything up to charts generated from spreadsheet tables.
Even if Mail was a superset of Pages, what would the recipients who don't have either Mail or Pages, make of it?

I can't delete phantom emails

iPhone 6 IOS 8.1.3
I have recently deleted all the emails from a particular person on my mac email account. When I search that person's name in the search all email accounts in the the search bar in the email app, I can no longer see any emails from that person. The problem however is, when I search that person's name from the search bar on top of my iPhone6 home screen, I get a list of phantom draft messages that I cannot seem to delete or get rid of. I have tried saving them as new draft messages. Once they appear in my draft mailbox, I delete and trash them. Then I search again from the home screen search and the phantom emails are still there as a draft that appears no where else except in the main search from the home screen. I need help to get rid of these phantom messages.

Spotlight is known to have strange behaviour (since the introduction of spotlight on iOS 3.0): It keeps in it's spotlight files deleted files, and these "phantom" residues will only delete when you reset the device, and it will even transfer if you set the iPhone from backups.
Some users have even reported on this forum that this caused them some troubles (i.e: divorce, because the wife discovered spotlight saves of message her husband was sending to whoever...). You might want to feedback this to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Therefore, you emails are really deleted, but they leave a trail behind...

The iphone only permits one email signature regardless of the number of accounts. If you'd like to see Apple change this, suggest such here:

My phone does not recieve emails in the message inbox

i have a BB pearl 9105 and I can not recieve emails in my message inbox. My previous model this was set up automatically. I have tried disabling my firewall and enabling all options I can find on the device can any one help?

Well, are you receiving them at all? To some other folder? Or not at all? I hate to guess...but...if your device OS has the option, you can dictate what shows in Messages and what has separate icons:
Homescreen > Messages > > Options > (Main Message List Settings) or (Inbox Settings) or (Inbox Management) > uncheck/check what you want to suppress/show in Messages

Email object parameters

Hi all,
I am using an email object into a process flow. I want to send an email when the process finishes but it doesn't work.
One parameter that I fill is smpt_server. Is it enought for the application to send an email? I think that I would have to introduce my login and password for the smpt server, where can I write these parameters (in case that are necessary)?
