Phantom iPad apps, phantom updates!?

Hi all, one of my friendly colleagues cannot install updates to her iPad 2.
These apps do not appear on her iPad (note the screen capture where she searches unsuccessfully for the OverDrive app which appears on the "Updates" screen capture).
We've tried re-downloading these apps but they still won't appear on her iPad.
Yet these are listed on her App updates screen. Nothing happens when she presses "Update".
This is driving us crazy! Any help would be mucho appreciated.
Mike

I think this is a pretty serious bug in iOS 6.x.  When an app makes a release for iOS 7.0-only, you get repeated prompts to install the updated app, but then you cannot and so your IPhone is going to annoy you FOREVER.
One solution is to go into iPhone > App Store > Updates > Purchased, and look for apps that say, "Update".  When you try to install the update, it will fail saying it's for iOS 7.0.  If you want, go ahead and delete that app from your phone and the annoying phantom updates reminders should disappear, but you won't have the apps, either.
I for one think that you should be able to turn off these idiotic reminder prompts on the home screen icon.  I don't want iOS 7.0, I don't want to search with Bing, I don't want to have micro-tiny fonrts thare are UNREADABLE (Settings Notifications), I don't care how many podcasts I have (Podcasts Notifications), and I don't want to see this bug with iOS update (App Store Notifications).
APPLE LET US TURN OFF ICON NOTIFICATIONS FOR EACH APP ON THE HOME SCREEN !!!

When I click on my iPad App Store Updates, the wrong apple ID is showing up. When I go under settings the correct one is displayed under the app store.

Does the wrong Apple ID show up with a particular App or all Apps?
Apps are linked to the ID they were purchased with, so if you have Apps purchased with different IDs you may need to logout with one then log in with another to update the second one.
We've also seen were "free" Apps are downloaded from the Internet, but they are not really free but instead were just hacked by a different user so need to be updated with that account.  That can prevent updates.  If so, it's best to delete the bogus app and get a good copy from the App Store.

  • Wrong dates shown in iPad app store updates list

The dates listed for the app updates in my iPad's app store are wrong! They used to show the date of each app's most recent update, but now they show each app's ORIGINAL availability date. My iPod, on the other hand, doesn't have this problem. What's the deal? When looking at the updates list, the "updated" date is much more useful than the app's original date. Any idea what's wrong and how to fix it?

I talked to Tech support they told me to go into my time and date settings change to manual setting and set the date and time forward to a random time (several months ahead worked for me)  updates will clear then go back to automatic time.  It is bizzare but it has worked for me.  I certainly do not want or need to see all my updates I hope Apple will change this silly feature.

  • Ipad apps not updating either auto or manual

Any attempt to update apps on my ipad3 fail. appears to start then stops and returns to "x" number of updates waiting.
Not having this issue with IPhone
Have done both soft and hard reset & synced with ITunes.
    Based in UK

    First check the server status:
    Apple Services, Stores, and iCloud
    http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/
Try connect to wall power and make sure your Wi-Fi is connected to the Internet.
Also did you try updating using computer iTunes then sync to your iPad?

  • My ipad apps wont update. When i press update it just opens the app.

Whenever i press update it just opens the app. The update all button is not also available

Try turning it off for 20 seconds and then on

  • None of my ipad apps will update. They just sit there in the "waiting" status.

I am trying to update my apps as your store suggested. Sadly they just sit here in "waiting" state for hours. On top of that, my Apple TV refuses to let me access the iTunes Store or any of my purchases. I'm fairly irritated with apple over the last 3 days and really don't appreciate having to go through 4 logins and a bunch of confusing screens before being allowed to randomly provide feedback without even knowing where I ended up.

  • Ipad apps stuck updating

I have an ipad2, while it was updating the applications it lost it's internet connection.   Now that the internet connection has been restored it won't restart updating, all the applications that were updating now say "waiting..." and won't start.  I try to download a new application and it has the same problem.  I can't seem to get the applications to update.   Of course the applications won't run stuck in an "waiting..." state.

I don't think that was it.   I deleted all the applications which were trying to update and performed a restore from an backup.  Then I was able to find in the purchased application store the applications I had deleted and re-installed them just fine.   Something went wrong with the download process when it was interrupted and it was unable to re-start.   Looks like an OS bug to me.

  • Is there a known issue with the apple app store update page for th ipad?

Is anyone else getting the ipad app store update page problems?
When i go to that page on my ipad i get an error " cannot connect to itunes store " but im allowed to still browse the store. Just cant update my items through he update page..... I do have full bars on my wifi :)

I'm not sure that either of these will work, but you can give them a try.
Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
Here is the Apple help article for more advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting steps. You might want to look at this.

I don't think that this will be the issue - but it can't hurt to look and make sure.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.

  • App Store update is not working. Just see a white screen

Does anyone know why my iPad App Store update has stopped working?

Read this on iLounge posted by ahMEmon
Go into Settings > General > International > Language and choose British English, then hit the Done button. The screen will go black with a comment about Language Settings. Be Patient, especially if you have a lot of apps. Let it run it's course and Then open the App Store again. Voila! Upgrade list is back. And it stuck when i changed back to plain English. He doesn't know why. I don't either. But I am now a happy camper. Worked on my 3rd gen iPad and iPad Mini.
    Hope it works for you!

  • Phantom update(s)

Having problems with an update that keeps showing up on my User's App Store Adminitrator account that is for a program that is only on another Standard user's account.  When I attempt to download the update from the App Store, a Fly-Down window appears instructing me to log on to the Standard User's account in order to download the update.  But when I log on to the Standard User's account, there are NO App Store updates.  I have logged on to both App Store accounts and reset all notifications on both accounts, but I keep getting the update notification on my Admin account's App Store.
There is no "ignore this update" option on App Store of which I am aware.
    Please help!
    Brian

Routings for phantom items are just for costing purposes, and not for production. A>B1>B2>C1>C2 --> D is the right structure for a production order for finished goods A, so components B1,B2,C1,C2 will be assigned to operation steps of material A.  You will notice operations to build B and C do not appear in production order for A, so routing for material A should somehow include operations of B and C for actual costing.
Phantom items by definition are entities that cannot be placed on stock, so if you "un-phantomize" B and C, you will get planned orders for them and you will have to GR them into stock once done! If B and C are physical items that can be placed in stock, then you can un-phantomize them.
Hope this helps. We use lot of phantom items at our divisions, and SAP functionality for this is standard and works well.

  • IPad app store software update problem

My iPad app store icon indicates I need software updated.  When I go to the app store all screens are working fine except the update software screen, which is blank.  The "Updates" and "Search Store" bar is still at the top, as is the "featured" "top charts" "genius" "purchased" and "updates" bar at the bottom.  I can easily navigate between the screens.  But on this update page between the top and bottom is all white.  I've tried shutting on and off, and tried resetting the iPad but neither option works.

    Quick workaround,
    App store
    Purchased.
Go through all apps and hit update on the apps that offer where it should say open or show the icloud icon
    Just worked for me

  • Ipad app store no longer shows updates

ipad app store no longer shows updates. was working fine until a couple days ago - whwt can I do?

If you are getting the blank app update screen, many people are having this problem over the last couple of days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this. It is a workaround only until then.

  • IPad app store "unknown error" message when updating app

iPad app store "unknown error" message appears when updating app

    Kathryn,
Had the problem also.  Found in the forums and it worked for me:
    go to settings
go to app store or "store" on my ipad
    click on the apple id
    sign out
sign in, again with id and password
    then do update.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ipad App Store said "20" updates.  I attempted to update w/3G.  Now many apps say "Waiting" and are frozen.  When I go online and plug into computer it just updates and doesn't address the individual apps, which still say "Waiting" and are frozen.

iPad App Store app said "20 updates".  Attempted to update w/3G.  Updated some, but now many apps say "waiting" and are frozen.  I attempted to update then by attaching to computer Itunes Store.  All it did was very quickly go thru the 4 steps and said, "Synched, OK to uplug."  I clicked my ipad and then apps.  It also said Update complete (or something like that).  Now several apps on iPad are frozen and say "Waiting".  Help!!

Oh a few other things I forgot.
The long winded back-ups!!!! JESSSSSSH! Although I think the latest update seems to have bit into this a bit.
Also why is it that sometimes when the iPhone is syncing it will not say on the actual iPhone that it is syncing. I see it's syncing in iTunes but the iPhone doesn't have the typical do not disconnect -syncing message!!! What's odd is I can see the new apps being updated to the iPhone and as long as I don't open any apps it will finish it's sync but the minute I open any apps the iPhone will lock-up!!!
