"phantom notes?"

When playing any track in LP7.2.1 from bar 1/beat1 the first beat or two would not play. I moved my entire song to bar2/beat 1 Everything played fine. However, everytime I move my SPL to bar1/beat1 and hit play, I hear"phantom" notes lingering even thought there nothing on any track. Seems to happen more often with spectrasonics soft-synths instansiated. I've rebuilt an Autoload.Trashed pref's. Experimented with buffer sizes. The usual stuff. This is a real drag when bouncing as I get unwanted sounds before the track starts. If I hit stop and start repeadedly it does help but is there an actual solution to this problem? Didn't happen in previous versions of Logic.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I leave air at the top of all my sessions, so... I would recommend that.
It sounds like the plug is not clearing it's buffers when playback is resumed. It's very unlikely it is Logic's fault. Some plugs will behave this way and clear their buffers, some won't. In short, email Spectrasonics, tell them it is irritating that their buffers don't clear and you are having these problems. I get this too from certain 3rd party plugs.

  • Create Routing Groups using BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE Limitation?

    Hi all,
I am doing a conversion for the routing groups for PP. The routing groups include sequence, operation number, material assigned and component allocation.
In this project, the BOM size of the material is super huge, thus to ease the conversion. I have used Function module to download the BOM structure and then allow user to maintain manually the operation and sequence. After that I will use BAPI BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE to do the conversion.
And I manage to get all operation, sequences, material assigned and component allocated. However, I face a problem as the BOM size keep increasing and same material BOM might be assigned to different header BOM at the same time. Thus, key field such as level and path is important for the input.
Note: Please check the order path in CA03, the technical name is STPOB-WEGXX1 with attribute type DEC length 4.
In my case, the Order Path is more than 99... around few hundreds....  But the issue is the order path field used in the BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE: BAPI1012_COM_C-ORDER_PATH is only has attribute type NUMC length 2.
Either I get a short dump by passing in the order path, or I might miss out the some component allocation using the BAPI. Anyone faces this before? Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Best regards,
    Vin

    Hi Vivek,
I got this reply from SAP.
ORDER_LVL and ORDER_PATH need not be filled, but PATH has to be
    filled with the KANTE values.
The logic to calculate path value is the same as the kante value.
    (PATH)
    A (N) 0
    -> B (P) 1
    -> B1(N) 1
    -> B2(P) 2
    -> C (P) 3
    -> C1 (N) 3
    -> C2 (P) 4
    N- normal item P- phantom
    Note 305919 details this.
However, it quite confuses me as I read through sapnote 305919 : It seems like what is been replied from SAP does not really correct.
    Symptom
You want to create component allocations to phantom assemblies using batch or direct input. In order to uniquely identify the phantom assembly, you must enter the level and the path. This note describes how the SAP System assigns the level and the path.
Thus, I will continue to check with SAP. I think this is the inconsistency of the database and the BAPI, correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks a lot.

  • My iPad is double downloading iTunes TV series shows and when I delete, the extra show does not delete from the available memory.  I have lost almost 30GB of my 64 to this phantom shows.

I am losing available memory on my iPad (64 GB 3rd gen) and it appears to lose memory because some TV shows that I have downloaded from iTunes are appearing twice in my downloads.  Both download, but when Only appear as 1 show on my "videos".  After viewing the show, I delete, but the duplicate show appears to be still there somewhere (not visible anywhere) taking up the same amount of memory that showed before downloading.  It reduces my available memory to download other shows.  The general settings do not show any of these phantom shows taking any memory, but the total available is much, much less than what is showing for all usage such as music, videos, photos, apps, etc
Is it possible to delete a show from the download portion of iTunes if you have already seen a show and do not want to waste time or memory downloading again?  The only way that I know is to let it download completely and the delete from "Videos".

  • Items below to phantom items are not available in ASCP workbenck.

    Hi Experts,
I came up one issue on ASCP, consider following BOM. Assume that all below items are MRP planned , all items supply qty is zero,
FG ( finished good, WIP supply type - Push)
    |-> PH ( Phantom, WIP Supply type - Phantom)
    |-> P (Purchase item, WIP Supply type - Push)
Now I have entered forecast against FG. After running data collection and plan, I can see forecast for FG. It is suggesting work order for FG but not suggesting purchase order for P part. While going in detail, I found that BOM data is successfully imported from source instance by data collection. But in plan, I can not see any child part for FG.. either PH or P. And this will be reason of not creating planned order for P. So can you please help me to find out reason behind this behavior.

    Hi Dipak,
Check the value for profile option MRP: Explode Demand Through Phantom Component. It should be set to yes for planning to recognize the requirements for the components below the phantom.

Get onto the integrated iOS + Mac OS and end support for "legacy" Mac 10.8 and earlier.
Force older hardware users like me to upgrade to new hardware which is where $$ are.
Make apps work across tablets, phone, and computer with similar (though not the "same" app, but able to read and use the same file format).
    Simplify.
I don't think anyone incl. Microsoft knew Windows 8.1 was going to be a free upgrade, I didn't and read that it would be more like $30.
No OS is ready for everyone on the day it is launched. iOS 7 is now 7.04 and climbing, Mac OS tends to really not be ready until the last patch and version is out, often a year or more after it was first issued. Ship it, then plan to fix the bugs left in or that surface.
www.macperformanceguide.com is saying "No" to Maverick for now. Of course there will be no "No" on new Mac Pro 2013 6,1 when those ship (Late Jan? )

  • Does the AC adapter pull a "phantom load" when not actively charging?

Got notice today that our electric bills are going to be "around $44/bill" higher starting June 1st, according to Austin Energy.  Their "suggestions" for less power use (which are really pointless in view of how much Air Conditioning costs) are to "elminate phantom loads" such as battery chargers, etc.
I'm wondering if the AC adapters for laptops (and iPods and the like) pull a "phantom load" if left plugged into the wall, but not plugged into the laptop?
I've always just left the adapters plugged into the wall, 24/7, even if the laptop isn't charging.  Same with the iPod charger...it stays plugged in whether the iPod is plugged in or not.
Anybody know the answer to this?  If they DO, then I've got to start playing "plug nanny" with even those adapters.
Thanks, "City of Austin", greedy, money-hungry entity that you are.

You can get a definitive answer for anything in your home by getting a device like the Kill A Watt which is a meter you plug something into and it tells you how much power it uses. You can set it to calculate how much money a particular device or appliance is costing you.
You can get versions that are much cheaper than the fancy model I linked to. Also, regardless of electrical rates I already plug a lot of adapters into power strips so that I can throw one switch to shut off the whole strip and ensure nothing is drawing power.

  • REquirement not generated for component of Phantom Item

    Dear Gurus,
We have a scenario where A,B,C and D are part of multilevel BOM. A is finshed product. B and C are phantoms. D is RM.
    A is level 1, B level 2and C level 3. D is component of C.
After MRP run, we found that requirement is generated for Material A. However, corresponsing requirement of material D is not generated. Could you please suggest what can be the problem ?

    Hi
The parameters maintained by you are more or less OK.
Your issue is : you are not getting requirements for the part for which you have maintained manual reorder point.
It seems you have run MD02.
If you run MD02 requirements for the component with reorder point will not be geneated because it is consumption based planning& it is not requirment based planning.
For getting rquirement for that either you have to run single item single levelMD03 or total planning for the plant.
    This is std SAP functionality.
Hope it is clear to you.

  • Phantom Assembly Reporting Point Backflush - Not able to backflush

We are unable to generate a backflush of the assembly components of a phantom assembly.  The backflush indicator in the operation have been activated and the components involved are production relevant.
In the material master, i believe the REM Profile has been set correctly to allow for backflushing of the asseblies.
Am I overlooking something to have this work properly?
    Any thoughts are much appreciated!
    Thanks All!

    Dear suntevea,
Generally Production confirmation is not made for phantom assemblies either in Discrete or REM scenario.
So once when you do the confirmation for the upper level assembly where this phantom assembly is used
as a component, then at this point the good's issue(backflush) will be happening for the component's of the
    phantom assembly.
Eg : Material A is a phantom assembly which is made up of components say B & C.
Again material A is a component for making another assembly say X,so when you do the backflushing in
MFBF for material X,you can see the components B & C are getting issued, which means Good's issue will
    be happening for B & C,261 movement.
I hope you will be clear with the concept.
Revert back if you need any further assistance.

  • Firefox not visible because of a phantom display

    I have a 2010 iMac running 10.9.2
I have had a problem where Firefox started but nothing showed on the display. MIssion Control did not show that any extra displays were in use. Eventually I realised that a VGA adapter was plugged into the back of the iMac but was not connected to an active display. I unplugged the adapter and Firefox appeared on the main display.
It seems that Firefox was using this phantom display even though it was not recognised by Mission Control. The problem occurred after I moved Firefox to the VGA display and forgot to move it back to the main display. Evidently Firefox remembers which display was last used and will use it next time, even though the display is is no longer active. Other apps might have the same limitation.

I think all apps will exibit this behavior the OS tries to keep windows on the same screen.
You could also disable the 'Mirror' option, if you have it in System preferences (it's unclear to me since this is document for 10.8 & I don't have dual monitors).

  • PP - Phantom Assembly Alt Item in BOM not loaded in Planned Order

    Hi all,
I have a scenario where in my finished product, I have several components organized in Alternate Group, and for each group, I define a component as Prime (100% usage) and others as Alternate (0% utilization). Among these there are some components that are configured as Phantom (Special Procurement 50), and these Phantom items, when they are Alternate in the BOM, ie, 0% Probability of Use in Alternate Item Group, it is not loaded in the list of components in Planned Order. Only the Phantom that is as Prime in BOM is showed in the Planned Order, together with their subcomponents.
The other components that are not phantom, usually appear within the Planned Order, those that have 100% utilization, and those who have 0% utilization set in the BOM. Obviously, all requirement is pointed in the Prime Item, but I can change according to availability of material in MDVP or manually in CO02.
When the Production Order is created directly by CO01, without conversion of planned order, the list of components typically brings all the Phantoms, independently of the Probability Use %.
Someone tell me if there is some kind of configuration to allow the Phantoms Optional also be uploaded to the component list of planned orders without having to change the percentage of use in BOM.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello MCantos,
When you have maintained the usage probability as 0% for a alternative component, that means you do not want that partular material to be planned further. In short this is just an Engineering Relevant Material (is not required in Production activity).
When this alternate material with usage probability 0% is phantom material, you want its components to be proposed. But you yourself have answered that this phantom material has usage probability 0% and this means it is not required in Production and thus its components as well are not required. Thus system is not exploding the BOM and proposing the material at the time of Production activity.
Hope I answered your query. Please check your usage probability for phantom assembly part and if required correct the same so that you can achive what you want.
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

  • Planned order is not creating for a phantom assembly

    Dear experts
My fert having two semi finished components
first semifinished is assigned with a raw material
And second semifinished is assigned with two different raw material
in material master of second semifinished mrp2 view Special procurement=50
and after running mrp, second semifinished is not getting any planned order or dep requirement all the raw material under this getting planned order
But in my understanding of phantom second semifinished in should not get any planned order?
    Am  i correct?
Pls advise me where i need to check
    Abu Fathiam

    Hi,
Phantom assembly will generate planned order for its component when you will maintain:
    Procurement type: E
    Special procurement type: 50
Also in SPRO: OPPQ BOM explosion
Also check in BOM In basic data tab
In MRP Data screen, check explosion type- are you maintained phantom assembly off? Check it if you want planned order.
If you don't want system generated planned order for your phantom assembly component you should not maintain this indicator.

  • Phantom Assembly not exploding in production order

    Hi All,
We are using phantom assembly as a BOM component.
When we create a planed order from MD03 or MD02 and try to convert this planed order to production order the components of Phantom assembly are not explode in production order. When I tried with read PP master data option it get explode.
Can you please let me know the reason?
    Thanks,
    SAP PQ

    Dear ,
Couple of points on this issue which may help you understand the problem  : Bom Explosion With Phantom Assemblies will happen based on the following set up .
    1. You need to maintain the special procurement key-50 for the phantom Assembly
in the MRP 2 View of the material master
    2. We can override the Phantom Assembly Setting by defining in SPRO --->
Define Explosion Types so that MRP Creates Procurement Propasals for the
Phantom Assembly itself.ie We can Swith off the Phantom Assembly Settings.
This settting need to be defined in the BOM Item details screen in the Basic
Data Tab Page under MRP Area.
So check in your Bom whether switch off phantom assembly is defined.Make the Explosion Type-Blank
3.Run MRP Single Item - Multi level - Transaction MD02 with Planning Mode 2 : 'Re-explode BOM and Routing'. The Phantom Item will now get exploded correctly in the Planned Order.
4.Check the Validity of the BOM  and planning date
5.Check the MRP4 set up in FG where you have kept the BOM/Routing selection
6.Check wether dependent requirement  material master -MRP4 view -MRP  for Depent Requ should be blank .
Check the above points and come back

  • Phantom assy could not be exploded??

    Hello All,
We have an issue...!!!We are in REM scenario.
We have configured for automatic backflushing in the background. When we see some of the logs  it says for some parts "phantom assy could not be exploded....!!!"
Thanks in advance for the favorable reply
    Shashi Kumar

    Dear Shashikumar,
If you are using ECM - for BOM validity, then check whether the Engineering
Change number which you have used is released or not(provided if the ECN is of
Release Type). This could be one of the reason.
    Please check & revert.
    Dear Shashi,
Has your problem got solved?Plz update

  • Requirements for phantoms to not pass down to components

I have this requirement where the requirements at the phantom level should not be passed down to the components but the Planned orders at the phantom level need to be created.
Is this even possible? If so then what planning strategy needs to be used and what type of independent requiremnets should be used. Please advise.

You can use any stg like 11, 10, 40 to phantom assembly, but see that following setting is done in MRP4 view of product material master
MRP dep. requirement = 1- Materials for dependent requirements are not planned.
    <b>Explanation</b>
    <u>MRP relevancy for dependent requirements</u>
This indicator controls whether dependent requirements are relevant to MRP or not. Dependent requirements include dependent reservations and stock transfer requirements.
You only use this indicator in connection with planning strategies for make-to-stock production, assembly planning. Note that the indicator Dependent requirements not relevant to MRP should only be used when, for example, planned independent requirements exist for an assembly. In this case, no receipt elements for the dependent requirements in MRP should be created as receipts have already been created for the planned independent requirements.

I have three podcast (NYT Front page, NPR Most Email Stories & This American Life that were synced on Monday morning 9/14) that I thought I deleted from my IPhone (ver. 3.1) and they no longer show up when I'm synced with ITunes 9 however still show up on my IPhone. I listen to a lot of podcasts and manually sync (and delete) everything. I've deleted other podcasts since ver 3.1 but for some reason these are still there. Am I able to delete directly from my IPhone or only thru ITunes. Why are they not showing up in ITunes as being on my IPhone.
