what r the different types of phases in implementation project

The Implementation Roadmap has five phases:
    1. Project Preparation – project formally initiated and planning well under way.
    2. Business Blueprint – project team gathers requirements and conducts conceptual design of the solution.
    3. Realization – system solution is built and integration tested, end users trained
    4. Final Preparation – final check before cut over to new system solution
    5. Go Live & Support – solution confirmation, on-going support in place and project closing

  • Different Phases of SAP Implementation ??

    Hi Experts,
Please tell me the diff phases of implementation project.
    Regards,
    Kali Pramod

    Hi Pramod
All implementation projects have the the following phases:
    Scoping -
What is to be implemented i.e. which submodules are to be implemented some clients may not require credit management for example. Look at the project scope document carefully it will tell you what SAP sub-modules in SAP you should be prepared for. Usually the sales people along with project manager do it.
    As is -
Here you understand the existing business processes of the client . Your BPOcollect all the ISO-documentation (if client is ISO certified), reports and forms at this stage and you analyse how and when the reports/forms are generated, where the data is coming from. You also do a Level -2 training for your BPO so he is made aware of all the required transactions in SAP.
Once this is over BPO can start learning with the consultants help more about SAP. This is crucial because if you miss out any transactions the BPO may forget about some of his Business processes which may come up later. It is a good practice to ask the BPO to make flow charts to explain business processes.
    To-Be -
Parallely you map these processes to SAP. Processes that you are not sure of as to whether they are present in SAP or not you try to do a configuration of those processes, and along with the BPO(Business process owner he is the clients employee who knows about the clients business processes probably a middle management guy, ther can more than one), BPO involvement is required as he may be able to tell you his requirements better. Once you do the business modelling you will also be made aware of the gaps between as-is and to-be , here decisons have to be made as to wether a ABAP development/system modification is required or not and so on. Involve the BPO as much as possible and document everything it is good practice do not be lazy about it.
    Business blueprint:
Here the as-is and to-be and gap analysis is explained. This is the document that you will be using to do your configuration in the realization phase.
    Realization phase:
Here you do the configuration in the development server (there are three clients -development,quality, production). You also decide on the master data format, so that BPO can go collect the master data. You also gove ABAP specifications for forms, reports etc, system modifications etc. Unit testing: Your BPOs and a few key users sit down and test your configuration in your module only. It is good to test the BDCs that you need for uploading data at this stage so you have more realistic data and your BDCs are tested.
    Integration testing:
Once all modules unit testing is over then the configuration is trasported to the Quality server, where testing for all the modules is done by BPOs and end user, this is to check if any problems are there in integration between various modules. Once all is okay from the QA server config is transported to the production server.
    Go live preparation
Data uploading: The collected master data is checked and the uploaded into production server(sever and client I have used interchangeably). Now you are ready for go live i.e. users can now use the production server.
    Hope this helps !!!

  • CHARM during implementation phase possible?

    Hi Gurus
I would like to know the constraints of implementing CHARM during the implementation phase of the project.
I am aware that, charm functionality is best suitable for post go live change tracking tool and it is not recommended during the implementation phase. But I would like to know the reasons behind not recommending CHARM during implementation phase.
    Please provide your valuable inputs.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The following may not be the detailed reasons behind not recommending CHARM during implementation phase.
Implementation Project u2013 A project to implement SAP solution as a part of regular implementation or a roll out. This is considered for single-site implementations. Predefined scenarios can be selected from template projects.
Change Request Management (ChaRM) is an SAP tool to manage all those activities performed between the design of a change and the final promotion to a productive system
    ChaRM can:
o Improve efficiency and transparency of change management processes
    o Minimize business disruptions
o Store documentation of implemented changes
    o Track and monitor changes
    o Improve audit process
o Reduce risk of correction and project failures
    ChaRM benefits are:
o Allow the Organization to control and manage changes in the SAP system effectively
o Guarantee that any change to the SAP system follows the standard process flow and procedures with mandatory controls and documented steps
o Effectively adheres to requirements for SOX compliance
Please also go through [this|http://www.sap.com/community/webcast/2009_06_worldtour_fr/2009_06_Worldtour_SOL1_SAP_fr.pdf] document.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to create JSF UIComponent tree before rendering phase?

    Hello,
The JSF lifecycle create the JSF UIComponent tree (I mean : parsing the JSP to buid the JSF component tree) during the restore phase if the request is a postback else during the render phase.
In my application, I need to link JSF component with error message (coming from business layer) like :
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage("form1:v1", new FacesMessage("Test!"));To do that, the JSF component with the Id"form1:v1" must exist! And that not the case if the request is not a postback.
A solution should be to build the JSF component tree just before the rendered phase by implementing the a custom PhaseListener. But i dont know how to force JSF to build the JSF component tree?
    Is it possible? Other solution?
    Thanks!

  • WHAT IS ROLLOUT IN SAP IMPLEMENTATION. ?

    Dear All Guru's ,
I m in need to know about one of phase of implementation in SAP, pl guide about " ROLL OUT " i will be very greatfull to all of you , pl explain with simple steps or if u are having any material then do send it to me .what is the sequence of all these phases.?
    regards,
    sap11

    Hi,
    Roll -out Project:
Extending the business functionality from corporate to its branch office.Example: You have main office in German and they implemented SAP.Also they have branch in India and want to implement in India. When implementing SAP in India office( having same company in corporate level and assigning a company code for India to the same company), you can say it's a roll out project.
    Upgradation projects in SAP:
Replacing older verion to new version.Example:Upgrading from SAP 4.6C to ECC 6.0.
    Roll out example
IF client is on SAP and runing SAP
now he purchases new p-lant or set up new plant
then going on to sap for this new plant is roll out

  • Real life technical and business issues--FICO--implementation

    Hello,
Can someone please give some real-life Technical and Business issues and problems faced by FICO consultant in different-different phases of implementation (asap)? please provide from basic to critical examples?
    Thanks,
    Amit
Moderator: Please, respect the rules of the forum

What you are asking is very project specific.
    Try to do the following:
    1. Ask for the detailed business requirements
    2.  Ask for the design documents. Usually, there will be bunch of documents that got documented when the project team made the design. There must be documents like conceptual / high level design, detailed / low level design, ABAP specifications, report specifications, etc.
    3. The design documents will contian other things, DATA FLOW DIAGRAM. Here in this diagram, you will see where the data comes and how it gets processed and transformed when the data reaches BW.
    4. Ask for your access to the develoment system or the sandbox ( where you can play around without affecting anybody's work).
    5. With the data fliow, you keep reviewing the objects in BW and also in the source system.
    6. Even if you dont get access to dev or sandbox, you cans till view the objects in display mode.
    7. Open the query designer and see how the variables are defined and how formulas are defined and how the restricted key figures are defined.
    8. In production system, go to SM37 and see the jobs that are scheduled.
    9. Try and co ordinate weekly calls with your team members and this is the place where ideas  and problems will be shared.

  • Post Implementation Internal Control review

Can anybody assist with an audit program and/or standard checklist/procedures for conducting an Internal Control review of Oracle Financials once the implementation is complete and the system has been in use for a few months?
Note: Does not need to cover the Technical aspects of the system.
    email: [email protected]

    Hi Ravikanth,
Review/Audit has to take place each and every phase of implementation such as:
    1. Audit is to be done from As Is/To be to BBP- whether all the business processes are mapped in BBP.
Check whether any change management issues are defined are not
    2. Audit is to be done on BBP - Whether the standanrd SAP/Developments are meeting the user requirements or not
Identified GAPs are correct or not
    3. Audit is to be done on Realization - Check whether all the proceesses defined in the BBP are mapped in SAP or  not
Check the configuration documents with the actual configurations in DEV/QAS
Thurve testing has to be done at the time of realization- Positive and negitive
Test cases/test scenarios are to be prepared to make assesment
    4. General - Training at each and every level is essential
User should acquint to use SAP system
The above are need to be checked while implementation. Post implementation review has to be done before implementation partner is getting sign off for Go Live. Once proper testing is done the Go Live phase is to be signed off.

    Hello
This question is very generic, if you pin point to specific phase of implementation, specific module you want to implement, than it would be easy for forum to put on some details for you
If you extract AIM Tool, you may get templates for various phases of lifecycle.
    Remember, THESE are TEMPLATES..
All you can do is standardise your documentation, however, content varies from project to project and business area to different business area,
If you need specific help, do not hesitate to get in touch with me on [email protected] and i will see if I can be of some help to you

  • CUA Implementation

    Dear Experts,
Currently we are planning phase to implement CUA in our IT landscape.
We have systems like   ECC, CRM, BI and solution Manager. We plan to implement Solution manager server as Parent system.
Each child system we have separate roles.
    ECC ->ZECC_ROLES (Total 6 roles)
    CRM ->ZCRM_ROLES (Total6 roles)
    BI -> ZBI_ROLES (Total8 roles)
Some users we create only  at ECC, some of them only create in ECC & CRM and some of them in all system.
1.In case to (parent system) create/distribute a user(test01) for all the child system, how to assign the roles to a user in Parent system. We want user(test01) should be assigned only ECC 6 roles in ECC System. the Same user at CRM should be assigned to only CRM related 6 roles. similar way BI also.
Could you please someone let us know how to handle the role allocation separately in CUA Central system(parent system) ?.
    Thanks
    Malai

    Hi Thirumalai ,
Yes , you will be able to assign roles to user profile with respect to what system  and roles does user requires access. After setting up central system and completing all configuration steps with child systems , you will be able to find an extra tab " SYSTEM " in central system which you cannot find in decentralized system. In this field you can enter the logical system name of the system (ECC / CRM /BI) in which does user access is requested. There after in role tab you need to enter the logical system name in system field and respective role namesin the role filed respectively and then save the user profile.
Please note that when ever you create any role in the child system landscape(i.e for example in ECC systems) you need to complete the text comparision from central system to child system , else the newly created roles will not be replicated to central system and you will not be able to perform any role assignments in the respective child systems.

  • Roles for functional consultants during implementation

    Hi,
We are in the configuration phase of implementation of ECC 6.0.
Please suggest the roles we need to assign to FI/MM/SD/PP consultants during configuration.
    Thanks & Regards
    Mrutyunjay

Yes Pinkle we can restrict !!
by restricting transaction code at S_TCODE definetly you can stop the transaction but for those which we are allowing do need many other auth_objects in the profile.. and identifying them is problem.
I want to restrict the above four transactions and want to give the rest.. is there any simple way !!!
I would appreciate if anyone share their knowledge regarding what roles they carry during configuration.... sap_all + sap_new !!

  • What is the fi responsibility for new implementation project

    hai. gurus
please give me complete suggestion about fi responsibility for fi module in new implementation
    bye
    pooja

    Hi
If you will  see the phases of implementation in a SAp project like
    Project preparetion
    BBP(Business Blue print)
    Realisation(Base level configuartion,unit testing,iNtegration testing)
    Go live and support.
During BBP stage you have to study the existing process of the client and suggest how it will be mapped in SAP.And the process which can not be mapped in SAP will be treated as GAP and may be solved through out side software or through ABAP development.
Finalisining the Enterprise structure. The mapping of the org stru in legacy to SAP to be done here.Since for company thwo important statement are prepared at the yearend like B& S & p&l.These two statments can not prepared unless company code is mapped and assigned to other logistic structure.
Integration testing is another important milestone in an implementation. In  this stage you have to see that the FI  T code is not only working stand alone but it also works in an integrated scenario.
These are some of the scenario, where you have to contribute as a FICO consultant. Since the data flows from other modules of SAP to FI module ,  you should take care for that
