PHD not working correctly when upgrading from 10.4 to 10.5 client

Hello,
We're starting to upgrade our 10.4 client machines to 10.5, and in the first couple, portable home directories aren't happening correctly after the upgrade. When logging in after the upgrade, the OS asks if I want to create a portable home directory on this machine.
We're running 10.4.11 Server.
Any ideas or has anyone encountered this?
On clean installs of 10.5 or migrations, our PHD's are working flawlessly.
any advice will be appreciated.

From my experiances, 10.4 Server does not serve well to 10.5. We are running 10.5 and created new PHD with 100 % success, you may want to try considering upgrading your Server, after all it is the heart of the operation.

My mouse is not working correctly after upgrade to ITunes 11

I upgraded to iTunes 11 for WinXP and now my mouse is not working correctly. No double clicks, no right button function and sometimes refuses to do simple left click options. What can I do?
I've tried new mouse drivers and checking the settings in Control Panel but no joy so far.
Driving me mad and taking me three times longer to do anything as I look for keyboard solutions.

I'm facing the same problem too on Windows 8. No mouse clicks (just 'ding' sound whenever trying to click anything).
I could work around it on Windows 8, but ultimately have to restart my PC to get back mouse functionality.
I wasn't quite sure which app is to blame, but ultimately concluded it's iTunes 11. As this behaviour always concided with having iTunes running in the background for 15-20 minutes (usually listening to podcasts) and never seems to happen when iTunes 11 isn't running.
Don't know what to make of this, I'm currently playing my podcasts through Windows Media Player instead. I'll hopefully try running iTunes 11 in Windows 7 Compatibiliy mode to see if that helps.

HT201365 my text to send messages is now not working correctly after upgrading

Since upgrading last week my text is not working correctly it is very slow does not show the letter being used and takes seconds to be put in

Looking into the Diagnostics and Usage Reports in 'Settings' -> 'General' -> 'About' I see nine different "ExcResource_MobileMail_DATE" reports. Looking at the report I see a SysInfoCrashReport that indicates that the CPU was pegged at over 50% (mostly over 75%) for over 180 seconds using the MobileMail app.
I also see a "MobileMail_DATE" report that indicates that there was an 'Exception raised during monitored invocation of _loadMoreMessagesWithMaxVisibleIndexPath:maximumIndexPathsBySource:, exception: ** -[__NSArrayM objectAtIndex:]: index 4294967295 beyond bounds for empty array"
And finally I see three "stacks+MobileMail-DATE" reports with "Power assertion timeout for 'com.apple.message.fetchMobileSynchronously...' Simply resetting it now." and "Power assertion timeout for 'com.apple.mobilemail.messagebodyloader' Simply resetting it now" reports.
I updated to iOS 7.0.4 and decided to try and delete the account in my Mail settings and recreate it and set it to manual instead of the non-working fetch. Now, when I try to check my mail it still takes up to five minutes to respond, pulling the screen to refresh brings up the spinner for about one second and then disappears and no indications of activity occur until about three minutes later when I see the spinner in the status bar near the clock and then see a notification that it's downloading X of Y messages. At that point, message headers come in very quick and then about a minute later message previews come in. At random times, opening the mail app I get a "Password incorrect" error, even though the password works on other attempts.

TX2500Z touchscreen does not work after Windows7 upgrade from HP specific to S/N, etc on laptop.

after 2,5 days (spending half a day within the apple shop as well with this problem) i have it all back on track.
i did a lot of different things: trying to remove and reinstall iPhoto; did a SL installation over the old SL I had on my HD; backing up all the data of course before and reformatting my HD and installing a new clean SL version on it + a new clean version of iLife9 with all the updates and than I migrate with migrate assistant all the data and setting with time machine back onto it, but all this didn't work, because it also migrated the error/bug through time machine with it.
so at the end i just installed a brand new, clean SL version on my hard drive, than I did the updates and put all my data, photos, docs, movies, mail, bookmarks, music, etc manual back into the system (drag and drop from my external HD, where i had an exact copy of my internal HD) and did all the settings again in all the different programs.
the only thing i used migrant assistant with time machine for was for the programs. it seems to work now all fine and i even got more free space on my HD, because some of the old stuff i always carried with me but i never used, i didn't take over.
basically everything is clean now. At least i hope and works fine. touch wood!

Menu Widget is not working correctly when applied in Master Page?

Hi There,
Is there a reason why menu widget doesn't work correctly when put in the master page? When I do preview it only highlights certain menu and doesn't highlight other ones? In order to fix this I had to take my menu widget off the master page and had to manually apply the menu widget on each page for it to work correctly? Is there a reason why this is happening and are you guys working on fixing this?

Bug?: layers.add() is not working properly when invoked from menu (ID/CS6/Win7)

I am facing a mysterious issue with the layers.add() method.
I am trying to create n number of layers for my document. So I have decided to create a menu for this.
I have creatd two scripts
1. For creating menu & menu action,
2. Actual script that creates n number of layers.
When I run the script #2 direclty from ESTK it works fine.
Now when I try to invoke the same script from the Menu it is not working fine. Only the last layer is created.

Hi Green4ever,
At a very first sight I'd suspect UndoModes.FAST_ENTIRE_SCRIPT which, as you may know, can deeply scramble script steps, especially when a try...catch is in use.
Try to replace FAST_ENTIRE_SCRIPT by ENTIRE_SCRIPT and tell us.

Eurosign not displayed correctly when picked from database

Hi ..
I'm having a problem getting a eurosign stored in an Oracle Database to be displayed correctly in my Crystal Reports 11.5.
When using the built in (preview) Crystal Viewer, the eurosign is displayed correctly, but when I want to print the report directly to a printer or to export it to pdf the eurosign is displayed as a box?
It only haapens when i need to pick the eurosign from the database. If I insert in a textbox on the report, it will show correctly.

What is the source of the text stored in the database. I ran into an issue a ways back where someone was copying news articles from a website into their database and the euro symbol would not display correctly (unless the option HTML Text Interpretation was used).
You might want to do a quick check to see if it is stored as an ascii character using a formula similar to the following;
asc(mid({database, x, 1}))
where x = the position of the euro symbol in the string.
The formula result should be 128.

Trackpad not working correctly when plugged into AC power

When i am running on battery, the trackpad is great--when plugged in, it is very flakey, not smooth, sometimes freezing up...all in all pretty frustrating!
I have reset the power management unit, but it did not help.

Do you have any "hacks" installed your iBook? Try going to System Preferences > Energy Saver > Power Adapter (next to Settings For:) > Processor Performance > Try faster or reduced and see if one works better. What are you doing when this happens? Do you notice any patterns? You may want to look at Knowledge Base Document #17228 on Portables: Jumpy or Erratic Trackpad Operation and Knowledge Base Document #58389 on Your PowerBook and iBook's trackpad doesn't respond. Is the wall socket grounded? How can you tell if its electrical or static? What does it feel like? Try touching something metal to ground yourself before touching (bed frame) and see if you still get a shock. You should not get an electric shock from the button, if you do stop touching it. Bring it to your local Apple Store/Reseller.

TS1248 Track Pad not working correctly after upgrading to OSX10.8

I've the same issue since yeterday night after upgrading to OSX10.8 from OSX10.6. The problem I am having is only right side of the track pad is not working.. Did some one already experience this issue ?

I'd recommend trying another VI function to get the power spectrum for
your signal to see if the behavior is the same. You can find some
examples of VIs using the power spectrum functions using the NI Example
Finder.
You can go to LabVIEW's Example Finder by going to Help >> Find Examples.
Then search for FFT. There should be some results that include FFT and
Power Spectrum Units.vi, Power Spectrum Measurement.vi, Basic Spectral Measurements.vi, and Spectrum Measurements.vi. Try opening and
running these examples to see if the VIs are returning the proper
results.

Norton Login is not working with the upgrade from firefox. Not too happy about this

I upgraded to the new firefox. I have a lap top with vista windows.
Norton Login does not work with this version. Can you please explain to me how to fix this problem. Much preferred the last version of firefox.

Bluetooth not working correctly after upgrading.

I have Lenovo G580 Notebook. I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (32-bit). In Windows 7, the Bluetooth software used to work with no problems. But since I've upgraded to Windows 8, the Bluetooth device doesn't function well. I had installed the Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth Suite 3.0 for Windows 8 32-bit. But whenever I try to search for any devices, it doesn't find any nor any other device (such as Mobile, Tablet, etc.) could find my Bluetooth PC. I tried installing the Atheros Bluetooth for Windows 7 32-bit. But it has compatibility issue. I also tried installing the Broadcom Bluetooth software but the setup doesn't find any Bluetooth device on my Notebook. What shall I do? Please guide me
And one more question :- Can I install Lenovo Energy Management for Windows 7 on Windows 8?

Programme does not work correctly when built as an application

My programme operates correctly when in development, but when built into an application it fails to function with regard to closing and opening front panels. I am using 'open VI referance' and 'property node virtual instrument Front panel open' to close and open front panel, it is this area that seems to fail.
Do I have to do anything special with VI's that contain Server Functions?
Any help would be appreciated. I am using LABview 5.0 with its Application Builder.

1. Could you please explain what you mean when you say "it fails to function with regard to closing and opening front panels" ?
2. It may also help if you can attach your program so that I can take a look at it.
3. What is the program intended to do?? I mean, is it some sort of serial application etc.??

First Play at Preview ok, but not working correctly when Video started from DVD

Hello
I created a Project with Encore CS5.1. When i test via the "preview" button (disc symbol) everything works fine.
When i export the Project to a DVD the Video starts directly with the Main Menue although i expect starting with the intro clip. As i said with encore preview everything works fine.
Has anybody an idea how to solve this issue?

Attached i'll send you a screen shot of the flow chart and the specs.
I just created a new project with only the "Vorspann - Trailer" and the Main Menue. All other links are not created yet.
With the preview everything is ok but if i create an image the video starts directly with the Main Menue.
