Philippines to American
I have purchased a new iPad Mini Retna for my Fiance'e to use here in the United States. She is planning on leaving her old mini with her family. What steps do I need to go through to allow her to have access to all of the apps, music etc. we enjoy here in America with her new iPad? Currently she has a Philippine iTunes account. I would like for her to be able to back her ipad up to my MacBook and then restore from backup to her new ipad yet have access to everything here in the US. Are there steps I need to take to make this transition easy? Do I need to somehow "convert" her account from Philippine to American? Or does access to apps, music etc rely on IP location to determine content?

The RAM figure tells us that it originally came with a CD-ROM drive only. (No DVD capability of any sort.)
There is one 512 MB RAM module in the one user-accessible RAM slot. In other words, the RAM is currently maximized.
Have her click on the blue Apple logo in the upper left of the display and select "About This Mac" from the drop-down menu. That will tell her the version of the OS it's running and also will give her the processor type and speed. Clicking on "More Info…" will continue to the System Profiler which will give her more detailed information.
If it is running a very early version of OS X, she may have to access the System Profiler through this route:
Hard Drive > Applications > Utilities > System Profiler

Anyone using Verizon iPhone 5 on GLOBE Philippines get LTE ???
I've read a few reports that Verizon's A1429 (CDMA) is able to get LTE on Globe Philippines if you get an LTE enabled nano-SIM card and get your account enabled for LTE. I've tried all of this but still to nothing. Not sure if Globe has really done the enabling of my account or not. Or if there is a such a thing.
Other reports have said that only A1429 (GSM) models (Non-North American) can get LTE on Globe Philippines. That would suck for me.
So can anyone using a Verizon iPhone 5 on Globe Philippines network confirm that they can get LTE?

Can I used an unlocked iPhone 5S from US here in the Philippines?
I was planning to buy an iPhone 5S in US anf bring it here in our country (Philippines) so I was asking if I can used it with our carrier.
It can be used on GSM networks, but not on LTE because the Asian bands are different from the North American bands.
Note also that if it needs service it will have to be returned to the US, because service and warranty are only provided in the country where the phone was purchased.
You would be better off getting a phone locally. -
I have a confirmation number from American Airlines for a flight with my family all under my name and for some reason I cannot add all of our tickets to Passbook. To clarify, I went to the American Airlines app and put in the confirmation number along with my name which pulled up my boarding pass only. Although I was able to add this boarding pass to Passbook, I was not able to add any of the other boarding passes for my children to Passbook that should have also been under the flight reservation. In fact I couldn't even see them in the American Airlines app. I tried to use their names and the same confirmation number but nothing happened, and nothing else seems to be working. How can I add all of these boarding passes to my Passbook?

I started doing this before unlimited data and emails on phones was a common commodity, on my Samsung Blackjack.
I then continued it due to its convenience. My only counter argument is this:
Even when emails are set to immediately push, I am always notified earlier by this forwarding message (sometimes by several minutes/hours due to the fact that it is not dependent on my being connected to 4G or wifi to receive it.
Also, to contradict snozdop's point that both methods use data and battery, I say this - when I use the forwarding method, the information comes in a pure text format and therefore uses considerably less information than an HTML and CSS rich email, with embedded images and such -also, unlimited text messages aids curve costs.
I will, however, give this method a go. In any case, a solution to my original question would still be greatly appreciated.

Click + (bottom left) and in the pane that comes up, select Danish on the left, and click Add.
Of course that can only change what the keys actually input, not what is written on the keys. If you wish to change the physical look of the keys as well, get in touch with Apple and ask if they can replace the keyboard. -

How to get week of a year in American Standard
Hi,
I know it might be a repetitive question, but did not find a convincing solution to it in any of the previous threads. I am looking for a function (user defined, if someone has already written it) to return me the week of the year, in American Standard. i.e,the week should start on Sunday and end on Saturday (and NOT from Monday to Sunday)
01/03/2010 - Should be the start of 1st week of 2010...... 01/10/2010 will be the start of second week and so on
01/04/2009 - Should be the start of 1st week of 2009...... 01/11/2009 will be the start of second week and so on.
Does any one have a function that takes a date as input and returns back the week of the year in this above format? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The reason is in the docs:
An ISO week always starts on a Monday and ends on a Sunday.
* If January 1 falls on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, then the ISO week that includes January 1 is the last week of the previous year, because most of the days in the week belong to the previous year.
* If January 1 falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, then the ISO week is the first week of the new year, because most of the days in the week belong to the new year.It depends on what your requirement asks.
If you need to prevent any January 1st that fall on Monday to Thursday from becoming your week 1 you'd probably have to adjust that implementation and fine tune it further.
Let us know if that will do or what your rule would be otherwise. -

Try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your iPad and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select Canada.

I was given an iPhone 4 which I believed was purchased outside the Philippines. The previous owner had it jailbroken but something went wrong so it was stuck on DFU mode. So when it was given to me, I had it restored and updated via iTunes to iOS 5.1. I bought a micro-sim and inserted it on the sim tray. iTunes was able to detect the SIM card number and there was NO MESSAGE like the sim card is not supported whatsoever which can be usually seen in unsupported simcard. I thought everything went smoothly. But when I tried to set-up the phone, the SLIDE TO UNLOCK button is unresponsive. It doesn't work so I was stuck there and my iPhone cannot be accessed because of that. What shall I do? I have tried doing the hard reset several times, it still didn't work. I have tried restoring my iPhone three times but the slide to unlock is still unresponsive. I think the iPhone was able to detect my carrier simcard since it shows on the top corner the name of my carrier, mobile signal and 3g network. Now I am wondering as to why the slide to unlock button is unresponsive? Was it because of my iPhone LCD or was it because the iPhone is locked? Please help.
according to some blogs, if the sim card you are using is unsupported, iTunes will show you a message that the sim card you are using is unsupported. But when i opened itunes, I didn't see that message. Instead, it was able to detect my sim card number. So I guess, the simcard is supported. It isn't the original sim, though. Then the phone was able to detect the mobile carrier, mobile and 3g signals. So iam wondering whether my phone is locked or was it a hardware problem?

It is up to the content owner as to when, and if, specific content is available on itunes (or any outlet for that matter). Very often a network or production compnat willhave exclusive deals with streaming outlets for a period of time before a seaon of a series is available elsewhere.
I can't speak to most of the shows you reference, but in the case of The Americans, there has only been one season so far. Season two isn't schedule for broadcast until February of next year. -
Living in Japan and I'm an American who just signed up with Soft Bank the phone service here and spent a TON of money on an iPhone. I can't figure out how to connect my bank account at home to my app account so I can Skype my family. Please help!!!! I don't have a credit card nor do they gove debit cards to foreigners here, or at least it's really hard so I'm using my bank at home and still have a debit there. My phone number is 8 numbers plus the country code which is strange! Another thing is I was given a phone email that I was told to use for texting but I'm not sure how that works!! It's so frustrating too because no one speaks English here and I'm not very tech savvy. God bless you if you can help :)
whichever app store you are connecting to, hyou need a credit card with an address in that country. Also, itunes gift cards must be in local currency too.
