Phone acting up?!?!

Randomly a website will open up on my phone; today it took me to a surveysandpromotions website, yesterday it was admin.next.com . Any ideas? I deleted a new app installed on Saturday, but this started before that. Before Saturday words would show up on the bottom of the screen saying try this fun game.

bagogirl We can understand your concern with random website appearing on your phone. Is this the only website that you notice or are there others? Does it happen when you open a specific app? It is common for advertisements and pop ups to display on smartphones.

Unable to establish TCP connection when enabling internet sharing (Phone acting as hotspot)

I have developed a small .NET Desktop application which hosts a TCP service. In addition, it sends UDP Multicasts to anounce that service.
Service consumer is a Phone 8.1 app, which listens for these UDP multicasts and when it receives such a multicast, it creates a TCP connection to the service.
The following snippet shows how the Phone 8.1 app listens for UDP packets and then connects via TCP

This works well when the Desktop computer and the Windows Phone 8.1 are within the same WLAN. For some customers it is important that this also works when the Windows Phone 8.1 acts as hotspot (by enabling internet sharing on the phone) and the desktop computer
(or Laptop) connects itself to this WLAN. In this scenario the Phone 8.1 still receives the UDP packets, but when trying to connect via TCP, the connection attempt fails.
Any ideas how to get rid of this problem?

Have you tracked down if the phone actually sends the TCP connection to the desktop? I'm feeling that this is a firewall issue that shows itself when the firewall zone changes (public/private/domain).

My screen is going black and the phone acts as though it is on and everything is working but I can't get the screen to change from being black... Any thoughts?

I have had my Droid 2 for about a year and a half now. I had no problems with it until a few months ago when that update came out. All the sudden the phone would freeze up then all of a sudden yesterday I was texting a friend and had the keyboard open then the screen went completely black. I tried rebooting the phone...pulling the battery... and then doing a hard reset... Nothing works. I cant even really do a hard reset because the screen is black. Any thoughts?

New user, phone acting wierd

I'm brand new to the Iphone experience and so far, I am impressed. But today, I've noticed that when I hit the home button to wake up the phone, on a couple of occasions the phone's display lit up, but noticeably dim. Is this a problem brewing, or did I do something to cause it?

if you have auto brightness turned on the phone will adjust its brightness depending on what light is hitting its light sensor...
you can check that setting in :
Settings -> Brightness

I set up my iphone on my wifes apple acct and now whatever she does with her phone happens to mine. I now have my own acct and I want to change it to my phone so my icloud works with just my phone. Wow! I hope someone can figure out what I just tried to type

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

Need help phones acting up since update

ever since the last system update, every single text i get comes in two's and its quite annoying, also my touch screen is acting up, ill try and write messages and it just glitches out like crazy, any input would be great thanks!

Hey can someone help? In the past two weeks my phone alarms failed to go off and I've check to make they are working, next battery drains too fast and phone keeps overheating

May need a factory data reset . Back everything up first. Don't know which phone you have but usually can be found in setting back up and restore section

Ios 7.1.2 update - phone acting on its own since update. HELP!!!

I updated my iphone 5s on Sunday. Every since then it is like my phone is possessed. It will randomly click on photos and zoom in and out, even while sitting on a desk with no one touching it. If you try to type a text message, or even have the keyboard up, the caps buttom will randomly light up and unlight on its own. VERY frustrating!!!! It will also scroll through the app screens all on its own with no one touching the phone. Anyone have any suggestions?

It would have been helpful of you to have mentioned what you have already tried.
Back up and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

When I click on itunes it won't open up. No error message, phone acts like it's going to but then it goes back to the main screen.

Using VI Example Basic Serial Write Read to send AT commands to Cell phone modem error 1073807360

I am using the NI Example VI: Basic Serial Write and Read to send AT commands to a Cell phone acting as a Modem. I can send AT commands to this phone using Hyperterm when I select the modem driver by name in the hypert port selection field but not as com 7 which it occupies according to device manager modem properties. The basic serial vi does not show the modem driver as a selection, only ports by comX are shown. I get error 1073807360.

Have you tried to put the name you enter in Hyperterminal in the VISA resource control? If Com 7 doesn't show, you can simply type "COM 7" in the VISA resource control. Or use "ASRL::INSTR 7".
Also, make sure the connection in hyperterminal is closed, before you open the port in LabVIEW.

I am wondering if anyone can assist me on configuring Cisco ASA 5520 site to site vpn with Avaya VPN Phone? According to Avaya, the Avaya 9630 phone acts as a VPN client so a VPN router or firewall is not needed.
The scanario:
Avaya System ------ ASA 5520 ------ INTERNET ----- Avaya 9630 VPN Phone
