Phone Adapter for cable internet

I have recently switch to cable internet and phone service through Cableone.  I purchased a CM100 modem, but didn't realize that I also needed a phone adapter.  What do I need to by now to hook up my phone?  Just the PAP2 Phone Adapter or do I need to purchase a router as well?  Thanks for any replies...

Either you can go for PAP2 or else you can VOIP router. WRTP54G.

  • The FREETALK Connect•Me Home Phone Adapter for Sky...

    Hi all,
I am seriously considering dropping my landline since I mostly if not only uses my iPhone as my primary device for calls. The problem I have is an alarm system is connected to my land line and requires a way to call the alarm centre in case of an emergency.
I talk to my alarm service provider for an alternative. They already have the cellular option, but it adds $12/m which is not a big saving... They are working on finding an IP/Internet solution, but it will be also a $4/m.
I was wondering if I could use the FREETALK Connect•Me Home Phone Adapter for Skype as a solution. From a computer I can call any 1-800 numbers for free, and I really suspect that the alarm centre is a toll free number too. So in theory it could work.
Can anyone share their experience with the device and suggest if my solution can work or not?
    Thanks

I use that adapter in my house, it works just as a normal landline would.  There is a slightly longer predial delay when initiating a call (approx 3 second Skype dialing noise), beyond that no real difference.  If the box doesn't lock up, or your Internet doesn't go down it should be rather reliable as a replacement.  Those are worst-case scenarios and I generally don't find myself having to do anything to maintain it.  In any case I have it connected to a power surge strip like I do the rest of my equipment.  Should I need to reset it, I just toggle the switch.

what are the settings in i phone 4s for connecting internet in mobile data ?

Did you ever get a reply to this.  I have the same problem.  I have the same problem when even when I reply to an email... no photo shows up in my new reply message.  The only way I have figured out is to use the "forward" option.
But this still does not solve the problem when people email me back... I have no idea what photo they are speaking of.  Instead of a photo... there is a <photo name of some sort>.
Let me know if you ever hear on this one.
    Many thanks.

  • Shure Music Phone adapter for iPhone

Is it just me, or is the Sure Music Phone adapter for iPhone not compatible with the iPhone 3G? I can't seem to get mine to go into the headset jack on the phone itself. It won't fully seat. It seems like it'll go halfway in and then get jammed. I know it's not a defective adapter because it worked with my original iPhone and still does (old one was given to my sister).
Any input/knowledge of this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to the adapter for those who aren't quite sure what I'm talking about.

  • Phone Adapter for Sony Clock Radio

I recently purchased a Sony model ICF-C8WM clock radio along with a walkman player. Since both docking connectors are exposed when I am using the Walkman device, I would also like to take advantage of the phone dock. I would switch my phone to a Sony Ericsson except for the fact that your brand of phone is not produced for the Verizon Wireless network. Is there some type of adapter device available that would allow me to couple my LG phone with the phone dock? I know this is a tough one but I just wondered if you know of such a device. Thanks. A. Thank you for your post.
Unfortunately, there is no optional adapter that will connect a none Sony Ericsson Phones to the Speaker Dock Clock.

  • Wehere can I find a tutorial to set up an OS 9 G3 for cable internet?

I have had a verizon cell phone for 13 years and have gotten your cable/internet/phone when i moved out on my own because i had been so happy with the experience i had with the cell phone service. i ordered my new iPhone 6 on October 6th along with my husband. i was told by the sales associate at the vierzon store where i placed the order that it would ship a week before halloween. instead of a shipping confirmation, i received an email a week before halloween letting me know that my order had been placed on 10/24/14. i thought this was weird, but figured i could weight another week or two, no big deal. my husband got his phone in the mail yesterday. still no sign of mine. then this morning i got an email letting me know that my order was cancelled and if id like to place another order for a phone, then i can go back to the store and do so. why would i want to go through another month of this??? verzon lost my order. i never canceled it and i am beyond annoyed. i am looking to switch my entire house to another provider. this is ridiculous.

i did not get any reasons or explanations. the email just stated that my order was canceled and that it won't be posted to my credit card (i have more than enough to cover the cost, so that is not the issue). also my husbands phone was paid for from the same card moments before me. my balance is always paid automatically and on time. so that couldn't be the reason either. that's what so frustrating is because they didn't explain what happened. this is what the email read exactly:
"This email is to confirm that your order has been cancelled; you have not been billed for this merchandise.
If you would like to place a new order, you may do so by visiting your local retail store or going online to www.verizonwireless.com.
Business customers should refer back to their local Verizon Wireless Sales Representative if you have any questions or would like to place a new order.
Thank you, and we look forward to your business in the future.
    Verizon Wireless"
it almost feels like its saying that i canceled it and that this was to confirm that i did. but i didn't cancel anything.

  • Cable internet (ethernet) won't work or even show up adapter

    Hello,
I am owner of S10-3 laptop and I have problem - cable internet is not working. Adapter in adapter section or HWinfo (software, which shows hardware incomputer) won't show up nor internet working.
There is no changes if I put or remove cable. I tried installing driver, but it says it can't find adapter.
What can be problem and how can I fix it? Might it be physical problem?

    Hi and welcome,
go in BIOS via F2 press  F9 for default values.. F10 to exit ..
If possible try to boot with a live linux USB  ..If there is cable LAN available... your windows should be restored .
Try an other cable  , cable could be broken
If nothing help , call your local service if your S10-3 is under warranty.

  • Using Gigabit Adapter for intranet access, wireless for internet access

I have a PowerMac G5 I have been using with a built-in wireless adapter for a couple of years. I also have a Windows PC with a wireless adapter as well. Both of these access the internet over my AirportExpress connected to a cable modem.
I wanted to take advantage of the Gigabit adapter in the PowerMac for copying files directly between the computers, so today I installed a Gigabit card in the PC and connected the two through a Gigabit switch.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get either the Mac or the PC to get valid IP addresses, let alone talk with each other.
Any idea what I need to do on the Mac to get it to use the gigabit adapter for intranet traffic? I am guessing whatever I do on the Mac I will need to also do on the PC.
    Thanks!
    Brian

What you're trying to do is called 'dual homing', and it's not really supported by OS X's automatic network configuration, though 'Internet Sharing' is close.
I'd avoid it if at all possible. Connect the computers and the cable modem to the Gigabit switch. If the switch doesn't have routing capability, you might need a router also, to provide DHCP and NAT services. This would save you a lot of grief compared to figuring out how to set up the Mac and Windows for dual-home operation.

  • How to change default internet access password in Gateway Max (for cable)

Hi All, My home boardband (home bundle with cable) connection has just been installed. I am trying to change the default internet access password. But I can not find out where to set the new password in my Gateway Max configuration page (192.168.0.1).Is there anyone having idea about that please? RegardsCheng

Hi Yeldarb, Maybe I do not describe the issue clearly. The "admin/password" is used for accessing gateway modem configuration page. But it is not what I want now. I am wondering the method for changing the default password which modem use to connect the telstra server. I think every telstra boardband client would have one username/password pair for access internet, right?

  • Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D Dual Cable/Adapter for mid-2010 iMac?

    Hi . . .
Sorry to pester with a question that's been covered from various angles before, but I'm new to the Mac world. Am a musician in BC, Canada doing a project remotely with people in Ontario. Decided to ditch my PC-based recording rig and went with a 2010 iMac and Logic Pro X (hallelujah!) because the other people are using Logic Pro X. So . . . I'm just learning the ropes.
Anyway . . . I have a spare monitor I want to run in dual setup extended desktop, and I'm not 100% certain of the cable and/or adapter I'll need. I'm also not sure why the adapters are bigger and seem to contain more internal components, whereas the cables just look like a simple "Plug 1" connected to "Plug 2" cable in a variety of lengths (in the same way you'd have a XLR to 1/4" phono cable).
Here's the info on my system, and any help would be greatly appreciated (will a cable suffice or do I need an separate adapter, DVI type, etc).
My iMac (mid-2010 21" Core i3 with Firewire running Moutain Lion 10.8.5):
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/specs/imac-core-i3-3.06-21-inch-alumi num-mid-2010-specs.html
My monitor I want use as an extended desktop (Acer 22" X223W LCD):
    http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/acer-x223w-lcd-monitor/4507-3174_7-32627876 .html
So, it appears I'll need a male Mini DisplayPort to a male DVI-D Dual adapter and/or cable. Do I need to specifically buy a DVI-D Dual cable? Will a simple cable function properly or do I also need an adapter? I'm pretty sure a DVI-I cable won't work because it would have extra pins that aren't present in the DVI-D.
Thanks again . . . the assistance is appreciated.
    Suds . . .

    You are overthinking this.
"DVI dual link support" is concerned about the resolution of the display, not the number of displays.   A dual-link adapter or cable basically has double the number of wires to carry extra data to support higher resolutions than a single-link cable.  Of course, both the computer and the external display must also support the higher resolutions in order to take advantage of the capabilities of dual-link.
You want to use two displays ... your iMac's buit-in display + your Acer display as a second monitor (what you called "dual monitors").  You can do this, as I explained earlier.
Your Acer monitor's maxiumum resolution of 1680 x 1050 is not high enough to require a dual-link connection.
"In single-link mode, the maximum pixel clock frequency is 165 MHz that supports a maximum resolution of 2.75 megapixels (including blanking interval) at 60 Hz refresh. For practical purposes, this allows a maximum 16:9 screen resolution of 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz (1915 × 1436 at a 4:3 ratio).
To support higher-resolution display devices, the DVI specification contains a provision for dual link. Dual-link DVI doubles the number of TMDS pairs, effectively doubling the video bandwidth. As a result, higher resolutions up to 2560 × 1600 are supported at 60 Hz [via dual-link DVI]."   (See Digital Visual Interface, Wikipedia)
You can connect almost any VGA, DVI or HDMI display to your iMac, using the appropriate cable and/or adapter.  Of course, you always have to make sure that your cable has the correct gender plug on each end.   The Apple adapter I recommended has a female connector, so you will need a cable with a male DVI-D plug on one end.  As for the other end of the cable, check the input on your Acer display to see what it has and select a cable that has an appropriate gender connector on the end that will plug into your Acer monitor.
In extended desktop mode, you can set separate (independent) resolutions for your iMac display and your external Acer display, taking advantage of the maximum resolution of each.   (For example, that's why the MacBookPro example you cited works, it's because that model MacBook Pro can support higher resolutions on an external display than it's built-in LCD panel can.)

Most of the current Apple Intel based computers are comparable in CPU speed. I don't think it is so much the model of laptop as it is the memory, and storage capacity of the machine. If you are going to use FCP on a regular basis, perhaps as a professional or semi-professional, then you should think about the maximum memory and a very large capacity internal disk drive. For instance, one hour of finished compressed video will take up about 1.5 to 2Gbytes of disk space. If you add up the raw footage and still imagery and audio, you'll use up your disk drive capacity real quick. So a hard disk on the order of 750Gbytes @ 7200rpms might be good for video editing. 5400RPMs might be slow to rendering times. Rendering a video might take up a lot of memory so more memory is better e.g. 8Gbytes.
As a rule of thumb, once you get to about 80% of your disk drive or memory you'll see degradation of performance.
You can check out macsales.com. THey have a menu system that will allow you to pick and choose from various alternatives. BTW, it's been said that although Macs are typically spec'd at a certain memory size, macsales.com found that Apple computers will actually support higher memory levels. That is, if 4Gbytes are spec'd, some machines support 6Gbytes. macsales.com will provide the guidance for you.
You might also consider buying an external disk e.g. 500Gbytes to carry around with you for back-up or transport to another machine.
