Phone call dropping
Phone calls from my Mom's phone have been dropping, especially long distance ones.
Have you dialed *228 and selected option 2? That will update the PRL, which is a list of towers for the phone. You can also just try powering the phone on and off.
You should also try calling from other locations or at other times, there may be an issue with a tower being broken or overloaded. If the issue persists, you can call *611 and ask for tech support and they can look into the issue.

UC320 - Phone Calls Drop After Transferred
Good morning all -
I have my UC320 setup for a small law firm. I have all calls in normal business hours transfer to an automatic call service (help desk/reception). Once they receive the call they then forward it to the attorney in which they want to speak to. Once the call is forwarded, after approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds the call drops. Does anyone know what this can be caused by?

I personally make calls longer than 60 min, with CCME to some South American friends (trying to keep it vague to not release any personal info :)
Anyway, if you use ISDN, it is easy to see which side is dropping the call. Enter "debug isdn q931" and "term mon". This is relatively low output and can be left on for days. You can also log to router memory or syslog server.
If you don't have isdn you can still see many things with "debug vpm signal". It is a little more verbose but still not overwhelming.

In the phone settings, you can select which ways you will receive your iMessages. Settings - iMessage - Send and Receive I think.
As for Contacts, well, you have the same AppleID so your contacts in the cloud are the same. Were your contacts just on your phone before? Maybe hers were in the cloud and yours were only on your phone?
EDIT: if yours were only on your phone before, you can turn off the iCloud account in Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars. -
Just recently my Iphone 5 battery is dying in a just a few hours, it used to last all day or more. I'm not doing anything different with it, although I have started shutting down apps etc. to conserve battery. I get constant "message send failures and frequently dropped phone calls.
My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!

Is it possible to tell which side of a phone conversation drops the call?
Just curious, in helping me decide my iphone issues... I've had 3 or 4 dropped calls. Is there a way to distinguish if it's my iphone or someone else's phone dropping calls by the type of notification you get?
Sometimes it says "CALL FAILED" in big letters on the phone dialing screen (where the name of the caller is)
Other times it says "call failed" as a tiny alert -- like one you would get notifying of a text message.
Does one kind of notification mean my phone is dropping the call and the other kind mean the other person's phone is dropping the call?
And if so, which means which?

Yes, if the iPhone was dropped or if it has liquid damage, it have a hardware issue. Try the troubleshooting suggestions in the article linked below and setup service if those don’t resolve the issue.

Impossible to make phone calls... drop drop drop...
By now it's impossible to make phone calls because they drop every single time after about 3 seconds. My phone goes completely dead from the other side, they tell me. I love this phone for everything else, but shouldn't at least the phone function work?
My wife want me to return it and get a "good" phone...Have you checked for the proximity sensor issue? i.e., is the screen turning back on after you put the phone up to your head and you're possibly hanging up the phone by pressing the screen with your cheek? Not saying this is your problem but definitely worth checking as it's a well known issue with the iPhone 4 and is widely expected to be fixed with firmware 4.1 coming soon. (I hope!)
Easiest way to test it is to simply use the phone in speakerphone mode. If the call stays live then you've found your problem. Also, do you have a case on the phone to deal with the well documented antenna issue? That will kill a call as well if you're using a bare phone and touching the metal edges with your fingers.
I replaced my 3GS with a 4 and rest assured, if you have a case on it, the signal and call quality is fine. I know for a fact that my new iPhone 4 is working better at holding voice calls than my 3GS in areas where my 3GS was known to have signal problems. I have a case on my phone and I do have the proximity sensor issue but I watch for that so otherwise, I'm very happy with the phone.
If none of the above is an issue then you may simply have a defective phone and you should return it for a new one. Cheers!

My phone is dropping calls, and having trouble downloading apps over the 3G.
The first thing I'd try is resetting the phone. Press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo appears. You won't lose any data. The iPhone 5 also has a sleep button replacement program. If you have one with the bad button that may also be causing the problem.

Data is dropped when I receive a phone call - Lumi...
Is it normal to get disconnected from mobile internet while you're on a call? I was on 3G using Lumia 920 at the time it happened. I was talking to someone and needed to look something up in the broswer but was surprised I could not.
Is there a way to do it?On some network carrier/service provider its normal for data to be dropped when on phone call. But I suggest you confirm it with your service provider too.
On 2G GPRS, I guess its called DTM which allows both voice and data to work simultaneously. But speed may drop when on call. On 3G, it allows only IM and emails to work simultenously when on phone call. Its service providers limitations.
Also provide name of service provider and country name here, so that people using same network might help you. -
1.1.3 causing phone freeze, dropped calls, bluetooth sync problems

I upgraded to 1.1.3 a couple days ago and have had the following problems since.
1) The phone locked up / froze. I was switching applications and the screen went to half brightness and the phone would not respond. Could not power off, could not get home button to react, nothing. Was sitting down at PC to search for how to reset when the phone just "came back". This is a bit annoying and has happened a couple times.
2) I have the bluetooth integration in my car. It's worked flawlessly since I got the car and set it up. Not one hiccup. Get in the car and voila. As of 1.1.3 the car had a tough time finding the phone. The phone said it was "paired". Took the car a while to see the phone and be able to use it.
3) The phone has dropped 4 calls in the past day. All dropped suddenly with no warning in a place where I always am able to have clear, long calls.
Is anyone else having trouble with this? The new features are great but the phone is starting to really be annoying and "PC" like in its flakiness.Same issue. Found a solution that worked for me:

They gave 3 possible solutions. The only one that worked for me was the following:
Connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC then press the “Restore” button in iTunes. When prompted, choose the option “Set up as new iPhone.” Once the phone has been restored, re-attempt pairing with the problematic Bluetooth device. Unfortunately, this solution will result in the erasure of some custom settings on the phone.

My iphone hangs any time.I see a call coming but i cannot attend. My call drops anytime and i cant even end the call.The settings page doesnt respond many times.I have given the phone to Apple care , they update the software and return it back to me.IT WORKS FINE FOR 3-4 DAYS AGAIN THE SAME. If you used your backup to restore the data after it got returned, set it up as new device and don't use the backup data afterwards. It seems that some data inside the backup are corrupt. Follow this article and set up the account info and other setting manually after that:

My Iphone 4 is now dropping EVERY phone call after 1-2 min. I just updated it, and it still drops. Any suggestions?
Hm.... Jailbroken? No warranty. No support. Stay away from it in the future.

Drop outs with incoming phone calls
My Broadband drops out when I get an incoming phone call. I've changed the filter (twice) but it hasn't resolved the issue. It seems to be OK with outgoing calls, and doesn't always drop with incoming calls - just about 90% of the time. Anyone got any ideas?

When I ask Siri to make a phone call the call is immediately dropped
- Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear. (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
- Relaunch the App and try again.
- Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
- Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
- Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
- Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
- Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
- Test the issue after each step. If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.
