Phone calls cutting off or saying call failed

hello. i have an iphone 4. recently upgraded to IOS7.
for the past few days everytime i make or recieve a call it always gets cut off or says call failed.
can anyone assist me with this?

I am having this same problem.  I have an iPhone 4 AT&T, which until today had iOS 5.1.  Over the last month or so, I have been either dropping calls, or the person whom I am speaking with can no longer hear me speaking, but I can hear them.  AT&T made me upgrade iOs 7, swearing that it would solve the problem.  Now I can't complete a call, and have a $100 per month paperweight that looks like Apple should be paying royalties to VTECH as my phone looks like a leapfrog children's toy instead of a phone.  AT&T is "looking" for a solution to my area's coverage, which has been perfect for the last 24 months.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.  Also Apple:  If you actually read these, let us choose what the desktop looks like because it looks like a lot of users HATE the new one.

    You have outdated iOS software so without upgrading it first there is little you can do.   A restore will force you to upgrade as 5.1.1 is no longer signed.

    My phone keeps cutting off randomly by itself. My battery life will be at 100%, then it will cut off, and suddenly jump to 18%. Anyone had this problem before?

        Jessica2010, that is strange that you are having those issues! When did this start happening? Does the phone ever get hot? Have you ever had the battery replaced? Have you tried to charge the device using a different charger?^SP

  • My phone keeps shutting off and saying "connect to iTunes." I connect to iTunes and it doesn't do anything last night i kept it there for a while and it turned on so I tried that all night and nothing. I can restore it but i never back up my phone

    Error 9006 when restoring your iOS device indicates that there is security software on your computer which is preventing connection to the Apple server or your device.  To troubleshoot this issue please follow the directions below.
    Check your security software
    Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can stop your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
    Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't blocking a connection to the Apple servers.

  • Phone loses signal from carrier orange, when I do have signal when I use phone it cuts off after a few seconds

    iPhone loses signal often with message no service , I have tried several times to reset it through iTunes and on the phone, still the same problem have phoned orange they say it's not a problem there end, I think maybe it's the phone ,when I do manage to get signal because it comes a goes I find I can't make calls or receive calls has any one else had this problem with iPhone 4 thanks john

    I purchased iphone4s in april 2012, people used to say why is your phone always switched off. when i visited apple store, they checked/disgnosed and told me that the signal is dropping and replaced the phone in july2012.
    Recently, after march2013, i again visited the store and replaced the phone again.
    now with the new peice, i am unable to get the calls, till recently i used to get  calls for my job oppurtunities, but with the new replacement, i am unable to know, if it a problem with the phone or ishould move out of apple after all the embarasement for a year.
    i have all the apple gadgets, but iphone4s really ***** my life.i have told them that i will pay the difference amount for iphone5, but the store guys says they cannot. with this problem, they now sold me a protection plan for 60 pounds.
    I think, apple really ***** after steve jobs.if apple does not respond i am sure i will move to samsung 4

  • HT5047 my phone keeps cutting off when it still has 40-50% battery life

    since i got the phone- i have only seen the battery meter turn red once.  Since then, it would get to 20% and cut itself off.  Now , today it cut itself off at 48%.  Why is it doing this?

    Try recalibrating the battery meter... fully discharge (until it shuts off) and then fully recharge (don't unplug until 100%) to recalibrate the battery meter.  You may need to do this a few times.

  • Cannot make phone calls since a week

    Since one week (about), I cannot make any phone calls. I have plenty of credit, and my connection is ok.
    My skype version is 4.3.0.37 under ubuntu 12.04.
    I tried calling FR, UK and US numbers without success. The phone keeps ringing (skype tone) and never connects. After a moment skype says that the phone call failed.
    I tried disabling the "Caller ID" service, but didn't help.
    Please help me to solve this..

    Skype is aware of continuing problems with the website when contacting their customer service agents.  If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented.
    Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent.  If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.

  • Lync 2011 for Mac with iMessage on OSX inbound and outbound calls fail

    Running Office 14.4.9 updates and many before that.  If you activate or deactivate an iMessage account using the built-in Messages application, Lync can no longer make or receive calls.  Calls received will automatically go to voicemail. 
    Outbound calls just ring and ring.  The phone setting in Lync were all three set to Lync as well.
    The only way I've found them to work is to following the first instructions at the following link:

    Log on to your computer by using administrative credentials.
    Exit Lync if it's running.
    Drag the Lync application to the Trash.
    To remove your existing Lync preferences, delete the following files:

    Users/username/Library/Preferences/ByHost/MicrosoftLyncRegistrationDB.xxxx.plist
    Users/username/Library/Logs/Microsoft-Lync-x.log
    If you activate or deactivate an iMessage account steps 1-4 must be performed, otherwise, phone calls fail.  One additional annoyance I've noticed is that Lync tends to hand with a red X on the icon in the dock when this happens as well.  You must
    use the terminal and do 'pkill Lync' in order to close it.

  • Wireless Phone Cutting Off Airport Express

    I think that my wireless phone is cutting off my wireless connection for my internet. Can that be true? Is there a phone I can buy that won't do that?

    What you are probably experiencing is adjacent channel interference. Before potentially wasting money by purchasing a new phone, you could try to change the channel of either the phone or the Airport Express. Some quick tests will tell you which channels play nicely with each other. 2.4GHz is a crowded frequency range but there should be plenty of room for these to coexist.

  • BT Cut off

    Hey,
    Basically our Phone was cut off a while back, we could still be called just couldn't call other people but the Internet still worked fine, Now 2 weeks ago phonecalls ceased completely, when trying dialling any number it says "Number not recognised" and this has also resulted in my internet connection ceasing to work (no DNS Server connection can be made) although my ADSL Light is still green.
    Now we paid our bill last Saturday through Postal order, i want either one of these answers
    - How Long does it take for us to be reconnected after paying the bill through postal order
    - Has our line been cut off completely which will mean we have to pay for the line to be reconnected (which i understand incurs a cost), if so why has it been.

    Edit- I just entered my landline number on sky landline check (to see if my line is compatible for sky broadband/talk) and it came up saying :"This number does not appear to be a BT compatible phone line. It may be from a cable or other service provider, or you may have moved house and just activated this number. We can only supply Sky Broadband and Talk on working, active BT compatible lines."
    So i assume this means BT has completely cut me off and would mean i need to pay for the line to be re-installed?

    It sounds like BT has disconnected your line.
    If that is the case and it is a stopped line which is more than likely, then you shouldn't have to pay a connection fee however you may need to pay a deposit if the previous service was stopped due to non-payment.

  • Samsung Convoy 2 cuts off by itself

    My husband has a Samsung Convoy 2 phone that is probably six months old.  The phone cuts off by itself several times a day.  The battery is at 100% so I don't think it is the battery.  He has to restart the phone and then several hours later, it will cut off again.  It has been doing this for several months.  The battery should not be old  because the phone is basically new.  Is anyone else having this problem?

    It is my husband’s phone and all he uses it for is calling.  He doesn’t text, email, etc.  He says he is a “primitive man” and doesn’t need any of that stuff.  LOL!  But, yes, it just turns off by itself.  Not when he is using it, but he will go to call someone and it is off.  It does this several times a day.  He has tried taking the battery out.  Also, sometimes when it has turned off by itself, he can’t turn it back on until he takes the battery out and puts it back in again.  But, sometimes, he is able to turn it back on without taking the battery out.  He had this same model phone for several years and never had any trouble, so when it needed replacing, he wanted the same type phone.  This one has done this (cutting off) for a while.  He doesn’t realize that it has turned off until he needs to use it.  In fact, yesterday, he was waiting for UPS to deliver something and wanted me to call him as soon as it arrived.  He remodels homes and sells them and was waiting on this delivery.  I tried to call him and no answer.  I tried to call him for 30 minutes before I finally got in my car and went to the house that he was working on, only to find that his phone had cut off.  Really annoying!  Hope you can help!
