Phone calls in Facetime keeps getting disabled

I'm having trouble activating iPhone Cellular calls in FaceTime in Yosemite. When I try to check the "iPhone Cellular Calls" checkbox in the preferences I get a message saying that "FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to use iPhone and Cellular Calls". Which they are. If I log out from FaceTime and then log in again, I'm able to turn on the phone calls feature, however, and I'm even able to make and receive calls. However, after a certain period (hours, minutes...) the functionality seems to be disabled or turned off again - the checkbox is unchecked and when I try to activate it, I get the same error message again.
Anyone else having this problem?

Hi,
Having the same problem here. Tried all kinds of stuff, but it keeps disabling the feature. Ever found a solution?
Cheers,
Maarten.

    Hello BobWeaver,
It sounds like we need to troubleshoot the software on your device as that is not expected behavior.
I would perform steps 1, 3 and 5 from the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/. If you get to step 3, then I suggest closing all the apps. Here is step 1 to get you started:
    Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • My wife and I got Iphone 4S same day 2 years ago. I used the same Apple ID for both. We do not use iCloud, but today after I updated my phone to IOS7 I keep getting her texts on my phone ans vice versa.

My wife and I got Iphone 4S same day 2 years ago. I used the same Apple ID for both. We do not use iCloud, but today after I updated my phone to IOS7 I keep getting her texts on my phone ans vice versa. I turned off imessage in message settings. Seems to have stopped now? Never did this before IOS7. Will I have more troubble when her phone updates to IOS7? Is icloud going to be forced on me then?

This is being caused by using the same Apple ID for iMessage on both phones.  To separate your messages, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and do one of the following:
Either uncheck the email address shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at" on both phones; or
If you want to continue to receive iMessages at this email address, on one of the two phones, tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a different Apple ID.

  • Administrator account keeps getting disabled in SAP BI 4 from time to time.

    Hi,
I am working for Ericsson. Recently during a upgrade for a customer, we migrated from SAP BO XI 3 to BI 4 Platform. Everything is running fine, but the Administrator account keeps getting disabled from time to time. They need to login from any other account with Administrator rights to enable the Administrator account to resume operations. What can be done for this problem?

    Hi,
Try to check if the administrators group have already enough rights.
Also verify if one of the admin users is modifying the rights for the administrator.
    Best regards,
    Saloua.

    Hey there jnsprad12!
I have found a couple of articles that may help you get those passwords into your Keychain application. Those articles can be found here for Mountain Lion:

  • HT201413 My apple ID keeps getting disabled what can I do?

My apple ID keeps getting disabled. When I try to update an app what to do

What do the emails say ? They are unlikely to be from Apple (they don't send emails account disabled accounts or asking you to confirm your id), they are likely to be phishing emails to try and get your account id and payment details - emails from Apple tend to be personalised (not 'dear customer', 'hello', 'dear email address' or similar), and they are written in proper English.
If you've clicked on the links in them and filled in your details then you should change your account's password as a precaution e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPad and logging into it, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or by logging into it via http://appleid.apple.com . And contact your card issuer if you entered your card's details

    Folks,

However just recently I've found that the Call Forwarding settings in my account keep getting set back to disabled. • My iMessage is stuck on the wrong phone number and I keep getting coded text messages from SMS Info.

I recently switched the sim card in my iPhone when I moved from one country to another. When I put my local sim card in iMessage would not activate (just staying on 'waiting for activation' forever). This has not been a problem before. When I went to send/receive I saw the phone number there is still on the old one from the country I left. This is not the case in phone settings when I look for 'my phone number' or in facetime, which recognise the new number.
Plus I keep getting text messages from 'SMS Info'. They are just code, except that in there my new phone number is included among the code. The only other discernible characters are the letters 'REG-RESP?'. Perhaps this is something to do with an error in registering my new number.
    I have tried-
    1. Turning it off and on again.
    2. Turning iMessage off and on again. This results in the usual 'it may cost you to reactivate with an SMS' popup on my phone screen, then a popup saying there has been a mistake, then one of these coded SMS messages.
    3. Doing the above in combination with logging in and out of my apple id (as suggested on another forum post here)
    4. Removing the new sim card and replacing the old one. Then turning off iMessage, replacing the new sim card and turning iMessage back on (of course powering the phone down and up)
None of these remedies have worked. The iMessage problem is affecting all sorts of my messages. Windows keep popping up saying that I may have to pay for an SMS to activate iMessage, except that it doesn't activate. The SMS messages from 'SMS Info' keep coming and I can't seem to get any of it to stop an just work normally.
I have looked in these forums already and can't see the same problem elsewhere. If someone could figure this out I would be most grateful.

    Hi,
When a Mac is "registered" for iMessages account with an Apple ID the Serial Number of the Mac is used to create an Auth Token as it is called for the Messages app that allows that Mac to work.
I would guess a similar process of linking the Number of the iPhone to a Hardware fact about the device is also in place.
I would contact Apple Support and check with them.  (you might need to speak to a Level 2 person as Level 1 people are script led and try to fit everything into Software or Hardware categories where as sorting and Apple ID (which the Number is in this case) is normally Free).
I did find this iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
It starts off about sorting SMS that is not working.
This one has a bit on Unlinking an iPhone Number (with or without the iPhone) iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage - Apple Support

  • WiFi Profile keeps getting disabled

I'm always having issues where the WiFi profile gets disabled.
My school has a number of access points all with the same connection info and so I should be able to connect onto all the different access points seemlessly, however, it seems to get disabled a lot especially when I'm in an area of poor reception, or when I'm moving from one access point to another. It is extremely frustrating because I have to keep manually clicking on the profile, and then re-enabling it. I already have "Allow inter access point handovers" enabled. I've tried with IP 6 on and off, doesn't make a difference. I had the same issue on my Playbook as well. There are a number of other people having problems as well as seen here on CrackBerry.http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-10-os-f269/saved-wifi-network-keeps-disabling-itself-774078/ As people have mentioned, this is likely due to the algorithm used by BlackBerry to prevent battery drain, but clearly it's causing the connection to stay dead. Especially for connections that have ever connected successfully, it would be good for the phone to keep trying every 5 or 10 minutes, or maybe try and figure out what cell-towers might be connected to the WiFi so if you are within a certain area, it will know to keep trying. For the mean time, there should definitely be an option in the menu to quickly and easily re-enable the wifi profile.(e.g. with the long press/right side menu, or maybe even have an option at the bottom of the profile list.)

  • My iPad is receiving phone calls, not FaceTime calls, that my iPhone under the same iCloud account is receiving, how do I stop this?

I have an older iPad that we use at my office for Pandora. My iPhone is connected to the same iCloud account as my iPhone is & once in a while my iPad will receive a phone call, not a FaceTime call, from one of my contacts that's trying to call me. It will say the contact's name up at the top like usual, it plays my iPhone ringtone, says "Slide to Answer" but also beneath that it says "from my iPhone." I still receive the phone call on my iPhone but I also receive it on my iPad & I'd obviously like it to stop. Can anybody help me out?

You can do this on the phone and the iPad. Settings>FaceTime>iPhone Cellular Calls>Off.

  • AppleID keeps getting disabled

It's driving me rather crazy. My AppleID keeps coming up with an error, "This AppleID has been suspended for security reasons." I keep resetting the password at the iForgot webpage, and it works for a little while again, but then it comes up suspended again. I keep resetting it, it keeps getting suspended.
I don't have a jillion different devices trying to access the account: I've reset the password on all my macs. I'm at my wits end. Calling Apple support has been no help: it's not apparently a support topic that has folks dedicated to it, and the frontline support folks have had a hard time understanding what my issue is.
Has anyone had this issue? Is there a good way to resolve it?

I think it was tied to my AppleTV not having my correct account info: I think it was trying to log in and failed until it locked my account. The problem went away when I factory reset my AppleTV.
I will swear up and down that I entered the info correctly, because I did it several times, suspecting this at one point. I do believe it didn't save my info correctly. There are plenty of bugs with the AppleTV, I've noticed.

  • I'm trying to restore my iPhone 5 to the original settings because it did not sync my contacts from my last phone (it synced from my husband's phone instead).  I keep getting a message saying that files were corrupt so it couldn't restore settings. Ideas?

I'm trying to restore my iPhone 5 to the original settings because it did not sync my contacts from my last phone (it synced from my husband's phone instead).  I am trying to delete everything so I can back it up from my previous phone and not my husband's.  I keep getting a message saying that files were corrupt so it couldn't restore settings. Ideas?

I tried following the instructions listed in the following thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19512128#19512128
but have still been unable to backup data using the third party software.
TouchCopy tells me I have no photos or Video ad won't alllow me to copy any of the critical files e.g. Notes, Calendar, Contacts, Messages, etc.
Anyone have any other suggestions for backing up my iPhone? Or help using TouchCopy?
If I am ever able to get TouchCopy to work, should I be using Copy to iTunes or Copy to PC option?
    Thanks!

  • Apple ID keeps getting disabled

I go to App Store and every time I pick an app it says my id is disabled then I reset and it disables right after

best thing to do is ring apple care
main reasons you account is getting disabled
    > more than one person uses your appleid
    > another is that someone is trying to enter the password for your account incorrectly to many times
    > your account may be compromised and then disabled for security reasons
    > best thing to do is
    id.apple.com
    > sign in and then reset your password, security questions and also your rescue email address
    > this will enhance security on your appleid and hopefully avoid if from getting disbaled in the future
also ask other people in the house hold who may share the same appleid and then work it out from there whether or not you want to let them sue your apple id or they have a complete seperate one
