I just want to make sure I am fully understanding. By “blocked” are you referring to the device being locked to Vodafone? Or are you saying that it is locked to another customer or the previous owner?

I can certainly see how that would be an inconvenience. We call this “Activation Lock” and this is a security feature that is enabled by the original owner of the device. This feature can only be disabled by the owner who enabled it.
In this case, since you purchased it from Cash Converters, they would be the best resource for you to contact, as they may be able to reach out to the original owner.
Once the original owner is contacted, they can remove the iPhone from their iCloud account on iCloud.com and you will have access to activate the phone again.
vodafone is unsure who put the block on it because the vodaofone fraud squad is involved

If the device is locked to another customer, it would be due to an Activation Lock. There is a chance that the phone could have been reported stolen, and blocked by the carrier as well.

Apple can help with most things, but in this situation it would be best to work with the carrier and Cash Converters. Apple does not have the capability of unblocking phones that have been locked or reported stolen.

Yes, absolutely. However, the block is controlled by the carrier. If we are dealing with an Activation Lock issue, that is a feature of iCloud and once the owner releases the device from their account you would be able to add it to your own.

Does this happen with all Wi-Fi hotspots?  A specific one?
Have you tried forgetting the Wi-Fi connection and then reconnecting to it?
What about power cycling the Wi-Fi router?

    There is no way to reliably disable private browsing or keep a user from deleting history. Use a program such as netnanny to keep track of history and sites visited.

    Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
    And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

    Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
    Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
    Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

    The device is locked to Verizon wireless not a Russian cell provider.
    You can use Verizon here in the states. Get a Verizon Sim.
    In out of the country use, pop in that Sim and it should work. However Verizon does not unlock for use in the USA.
    And you must be a Verizon customer to get it unlocked to use in other countries. Apple claims it will work in other countries.

    Sorry, but it is not possible to restrict use of specific apps other that the few restrictions provided in the Restrictions settings, not unless the app itself provides some sort of lock. If you don't want your child playing certain games, the only answer is to not load them on the iPad he uses.

    Connect phone to computer.
    Select Restore.
    Tell iTunes which of the available backup files to use, let iTunes restore it.

    I downloaded Blue Fire Reader and it requested an adobe id. I clicked on the link that was in the error message stated http//adeactivateadobe.com. Found out that if the date and time on my Ipad is wrong that it won't let me download a book. I was off 5 hours. I reset my clock settings and adobe id let me download a book from the library. I am back to using Overdrive and adobe again on my ipad.

    Open it up. Buy a new replacement drive. Install Mac OS. Then give it to them if you still have trouble.
    As for the install failing,
    I never do the older "archive and install"
    I format and initialize first, even zero the drive, and only then install.
    of course all the data is lost.
    Data Rescue 3 demo can scan a drive but you need to have setup a 2nd boot drive to work from, AND you would need part of that 2nd drive partition for recovery of data. 30-50GB system partition and 150% the size of the drive you want to recover.
    TimeMachine I never adopted or liked but 350% and would only use as secondary backup with cloned copy of your drive.
    Backups can be scheduled, run at night or weekend or both, a weekly clone and daily sets.
    Disk Warrior 4.2+ is another $100 (DR3 is about same but demo is free to try).
    A spare external drive case $30? and TWO hard drives, a replacement and backup/recovery $100 each?
    Just some ideas to throw out there....
    Bootable clones though you will find are very useful, handy.
    I like the small 40GB emergency boot partition - put one on your TimeMachine drive etc.
    LION: the one good thinig: it has a recovery mode partition and new Macs have "net install" feature and minimal hardware diagnostic over the internet to do Apple Hardware Test. Lion $30 and might actually want to install it on external.
    So DO try installing OS X on one of your external drives - create 40GB volume just for that - if you can please.

    I'm currently dealing with this issue myself, except that my rMBP has NO articles in the reading list.  It's a brand new rMBP too, purchased just this week, with the 2.6 Ghz Processor & 16GB of RAM.
    Let's see what we can find.  I may just take it back to the Apple Store.

    Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
    - Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
    - Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.
    Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.

It now has a blank bar under the launch pad and no matter how many times I try re-downloading it or restarting my computer it does not work. I use too play starcraft and other games on this computer although new patched/updates have made it that I can no longer do that now. Really frustrating having to deal with this especially after buying this computer upfront and now out of warranty.

    Go to your Applications folder and find a file called "Install OS X Mavericks".  Send it to the trash and delete it.  Then try the download again.

    Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
