Phone connects but cannot sync

Question

I have just purchased a new Dell laptop running Vista and, at the same time, also bought a Nokia 6500 Classic.
I can connect to the Nokia 6500 Classic in the PC Suite, can read the messages, see the calendar, browse the phone etc.
HOWEVER, I cannot use the synchronise function (and have never been able to). When I click on the synchronise icon in PC Suite and try to select "settings" (the middle button in the 3 buttons in the lower left hand side of the synchronise window), nothing happens. Likewise, if I hit the "synchonise now" button, nothing happens. These buttons are not greyed out (although a button below "synchronise now" is greyed out. The "help" button and "select phone" button work fine (and in the "select phone" button you can see my phone and that it is connected via bluetooth).

O/S: Windows Vista Home Premium (SP 1).

Software: Outlook 2007 (part of Office 2007)

This issue is related to Vista, not Nokia! So please point all your anger to the **bleep** MassBugSoft's new OS.
Here's what you can do:
1. Disable all useless "security" functions on this amazing phenomenon Vista. YOU DON'T NEED THEM as much as you don't need Vista at all.
2. Right click on the program launch icon
3. Left click on "Properties".
4. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.
5. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
6. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.
7. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.
8. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".
9. Be sure to run ALL SOFTWARE (not only PC Suite, Vista hates all programs, hates your PC and furthermore, hates You) as administrator, just in case. You can do that by right-clicking on the start icon > Run as Administrator.
LAST BUT MOST IMPORTANT!!!
10. Launch google (I hope that doesn't count as advertising, since I'm trying to help all those lost souls that would read this), search for the first Linux distribution that pops up, download it and install it following the guide (Ubuntu is recommended for beginners) and just start using your computer properly! You can put XP as second OS for all your games and other not-so-important stuff. If you have the money - get MAC!
