Hi
When restoring an iphone4 I get to the part that says restore from icloud, then enter the user details (if you get them wrong it tells you) then it moves onto the Terms and Conditions page which you then click agree. At this point I either get "there was a problem connecting to the server" or "invalid device while updating mme delegate account".
Help ....
Any ideas please

Sorted it by clicking the home button and choosing start again, the phone then erased its self and the next time it started the restore process worked fine

that error is typically in referance to trying to restore from a back up created on a higher software version, set the device up as new without signing into your appleID, update, then erase all content and settings to get the set up assistant again.

When trying to restore an iCloud backup, I receive the error message "Appe-ID cannot be created. invalid device while updating mme delegate account".

After a complete crash of my iPad 3 (WIFI only) because of updating to iOS 7.03, I try to restore my config from iCloud.
I managed to get into the settings assistant and enter my Apple-ID (which is valid as checked via iTunes).
But then I see the error message "Apple ID cannot be created - invalid device while upgrading mme delegate account".
I have no clue what the mme delegate account is but need my data back.
Any suggestions?

All you need to do is restore the iphone in itunes as new
and then set up as new
after this is done
then you can restore from itunes back up with out any error!!

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC

I understand that you are wanting to restore your new iPhone 6 from an iPhone 5 backup. This sounds like the iOS version of your old iPhone 5 may be newer than what was installed on your iPhone 6. Try going through the steps in the article below.

I would also check to see the backup dates in iTunes and if the backup is located on iCloud instead of iTunes.

Camera Roll not restoring from iCloud back-up

Due to an extremely large amount of "other" on my iPhone 5 I decided to reset / delete and restore from iCloud. Camera roll IS turned on in my cloud back-up, and I backed it up just before reset / delete phone.
When I restore from iCloud back-up everything works perfectly except my camera roll reloading. It just continues to say 'Downloading" (with the little circle thing going round & round) with no change or progress. It never says "downloadng xx of xxx" or anything like that. The photo stream has restored with no problem.
I hope I can restore the camera roll because it has videos that aren't saved anywhere else, but if not how the heck do I stop the "downloading..." at the bottom of the camera roll folder and get on with my life? Any help will be much appreciated.

Actually I posted here only after trying ezjules suggestions No luck. Even stranger is that even after I "stopped restoring" my camera roll is acting the same,; still says Downloading at the bottom. Strange.. Here is a screen shot after I have stopped the restore in settings.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.

Hey there, i got the same Problem with my MacBook Pro (Mavericks 10.9.4) and two iPhone´s 5 with the iPad 2 and the iPad Air, (all with iOS 7.1.2) since 2months. SOLUTION???
Since the change of Snow Leopard on Mavericks, the entire system of the MacBook is much slower. This is already noticeable at the beginning (start the MacBook Pro). It runs through the entire software. z.Bsp. Open Safari / Outlook, iTunes and more. for about 2months absolutely no back-up of my devices is possible!!
Every time when you connect the hardware (iPhone 5 / iPad 2 / iPad Air) iTunes stops responding and needs to close above EXIT NOW!! No back-up's my hardware (see above) possible!!!
but iPhoto is running with the devices and at least I can transfer the images.

I'm not sure you will be able to merge everything but, you need to select merge when prompted after turning on each service in settings iCloud.
If you don't want the details stored currently in iCloud and wish to delete them before merging then you can delete this data from iCloud.com on a computer.
So for example in the case of contacts, make sure contacts isn't turned on on your phone (settings > iCloud), go to iCloud.com and delete your contacts there, go to iCloud settings on your phone and enable contacts, choose merge when prompted.

Brand new 5s - set up as new but will not restore from icloud backup

Hi, all. I received a new 5s today as a present. It was set up at the Sprint store by the staff. I asked what I would need to do to get all of my.apps, photos, etc. and they told me to do an cloud restore when I got home. So I got home and tried to figure out how to do this. I made sure to back up the 4s last night but my new phone says it has never been backed up which I suppose makes sense... so I have several questions:
1) Why would an old apple ID show up all of a sudden?
When I couldn't figure out restore, I erased all settings and tried to set up again from an cloud back up. But it showed me my original apple is from 2005 when email addresses weren't required (my ID then was edavies988) and I only had an iPod. It kept telling me I had an incorrect ID or password when I tried to set up as cloud backup restore. And I checked to make sure my apple ID is my current email address not my old ID. It is the email address. So any idea why this would have happened?
And since that didn't work, I went back and set it up as a new phone again. So....
2) Is there any way to access the cloud back up and restore it without having to reset the phone? I have pictures and apps, etc. that I would like to have on the new phone....I have no idea how to fix this.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

No, photos and apps aren't on my computer. Only in the cloud. I back up to the cloud only. I have a very old computer.
And no, I don't have anything loaded on the new phone. I apologize if I wasn't clear. I am unable to reset the phone and do a restore on the new phone because of the apple ID problem I mentioned. (Old, no longer used ID is what pops up when I try to restore. And since it isn't the current apple ID it doesn't accept my password. And it will not let me update to the current apple ID during set up. And, yes. I checked online. The current ID is all that shows online.)
What I clumsily was trying to ask was is there a way to do a restore on a new phone without resetting so that I can get the stuff from the old phone to the new phone? (Again, the reset didn't work when trying to reset/restore. So I had to set the phone up as a new phone.)

I can tell you how to do this but first wanted to be sure that's what you want to do. You would then be sharing the same iCloud account and any synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.) would then be merged and the merge data would appear on her phone and your iPad (i.e., you'll end up with each other's contacts on your phone). You would also both be backing up your devices to the same account, sharing the 5GB of free storage (assuming you're both backing up to iCloud).
There's an alternative setup that would allow her to set up your iCloud account on her phone as her primary account and just turn on photo stream in that account (allowing your to share you photo stream), then set up a secondary iCloud account on her phone that would sync her Mail, Notes, Contacts, Calendars and Reminders. She would still have to back up her phone to your account, as well as syncing Safari, Documents and Find My iPhone (all of which can only be done in the primary account). Also, her mail would be fetch, not push as push email is only supported in the primary account.
I suppose a third option is to leave things as they are and share you photos with each other using shared photo streams.
Let me know what you want to do and I'll give you the steps.

HT4848 Mavericks does not restore from most recent backup

I want to change the HD on my MacBook Pro. I have proceeded as advised and installed Mac OS (Mavericks) on the new drive using the recovery function. However, when I try to restore the data from Time Machine the only backup that is available is one from November, despite having created a backup just before creating the recovery disk. What hoops do I have to jump through in order to be able to install from a more recent backup?
I have also tried using the Migration Assistant but it seems that it cannot find my Time Machine, which is connected by FW 800.

We restored her new iphone 5s from a backup on icloud from her previous iphone 5. it was restoring for two weeks! we called apple and eventually reset and started over. verizon had us do this again a week and a half later. still, now, its been over two and a half weeks and the phone will not restore from her icloud backup. she has alot of our pictures from the recent past holidays and pictures in icloud that we dont want to loose. along with all her itunes purchases.she is starting to get really upset. i know her backup was a fairly big one but if icloud sold her the storage to do the backup. why cant we get her phone to restore from this icloud backup? Restore from iCloud backup. Pictures missing and ones there are blurry?

I went to the Apple Store and got a new phone so they went and did a restore from backup from iCloud. So, everything was fine and I went home and my apps were there. I look and only 900/1,700 photos transferred from iCloud onto the new device. Although, I have no more room on iCloud so they may still be there but because there is not enoguh wiggle room in the cloud for them to download, they cannot be pushed to the device. Or, more likely, my photos may be gone because the "genius" at Apple had wiped my phone so I'm not sure if my backup is still available or if it just says that it is. And, the 900 pictures that did transfer are all blurry and wont unblur so what should I do? Should I buy more storage and then restore this phone and restore from the previous iCloud backup? First of all, treat your device like a camera - always sync photos to a computer for archiving. Many users have lost photos doing a restore from iCloud, and this is generally due to several reasons: only photos in the camera roll are backed up, and (it seems) iCloud messes up often enough when backup/restore is used.
