Phone / Favorites / View Options

The standard Favorites (Phone) can be organized and viewed only as listed items...
Why not to improve the app by extending view options in Favorites: just to add 3 buttons like in iTunes app (list / grid / cover flow)?
This would allow to organize favorite contacts (photos) not only as a list, but in 2 additional views: grid (like standard icons) and cover flow (with changing photo orientation inline to screen position).
Should look nice, especially when driving a car (imho)

Phone List View: "Call Log" Option Not Available

I recently upgraded from BB 8830 to BB 9630. With the 8830, I was able to display my Call Log on the phone screen, but I can't seem to make it happen with the 9630. According to the User Guide for the 9630, I should be able to change the Phone List View field to "Call Log." However, "Call Log" does not appear in the drop-down list of options on my BB. My choices are Most Recent, Most Used, and Name. What am I missing? Please help!

Screen resolution or view options issue?

I have my LED Cinema Display set to the highest resolution available (1920x1200), but something looks off. Icons look too big as do the list of favorites, devices etc. in the left column of Finder Windows. Is there a view option somewhere that I am missing to increase resolution or make desktop icons etc. smaller? Everything looks bigger than it was in SL.

N73 Needs a View Option

Dear Nokia,
Please, please, please add 2 of the features from the 6300 to the N73:
1. A "View" option in the contacts app. Currently the N73 does not wrap addresses so they shoot straight off the edge of the screen. To view an address you have to use the "Edit" function. Unfortunately this marks the record as having been edited (even if you don't make any changes) and next time you sync with Outlook any truncation that the N73 has applied to the address due to it limiting field lengths gets written back into Outlook, overwriting the source information. I want to be able to sync in both directions but not loose data.
Please can we have a view option that wraps the text on the screen and does not mark it as edited. Making the font size smaller would also help. Even better still, in these days of virtually limitless memory, please can the N73 NOT truncate fields.
2. The really neat feature on the 6300 which allows you to manually lock the keyboard and then requires the security code to unlock the phone again.
These bits of code are already written and tested so porting them to the N73 should be a doddle :-) They would make an already great phone even better.

Year/Annual planning/view option in iCal

I would like to find a way to print a Year/Annual planning/view option in iCal, but I could not figure out a way to do it.
Does anybody knows how to do do it?
If it is not possible, can anyone recommend a script/plugin to achieve it? Or another software that can import iCal calendars and then print Year/Annual planning/view?

Me too! Please please someone reply to this request! This is a vital option that needs to be made available as a view AND print option.
Some small improvements to the print dialogo window would also be appreciated:
I think it would be more efficient if the calendars/subscriptions to print were all OFF by default: I would imagine it is more often the times you are printing a selected calendar, rather than all of them together.
The frame containing the calendars also needs to be expandable making them all visible at a glance. Scrolling through lists in a dialog is a no-no (or for Windoze).

How can I turn on the Compatibility View Option?

In viewing a vendor's online reporting, I noticed that the report's header appears on the right, while the report's content appear on the left, creating a confusing viewing.
The vendor has recommended that I turn on the Compatibility View Option, but I cannot find this option anywhere.
Would someone direct me to the section where I can turn on the Compatibility View Option?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

View option in bi publisher 11g

Hey,
There is a bi publisher report embedded in obiee dashboard page.There are several view options in the report.When we try to view the report as excel or rtf it gives a pop up to either open or save.It acts more or less same as Export to Excel/rtf option.
Is there any option to make them viewable in the same window .Is this a tool limitation?.

Can't find the "sort by" option. I've tried the view options and clicked "none" in arranged by section as I've seen in forums, but still doesn't work.

Feature Request - Please allow for a "classic" view option.

Please allow for a "classic" view option like you have in Mail. Miss the sidebar that had a list of all the calendars using. The pop up list is not nearly as functional. iCal in Lion may be great for touch screen users but is a step back on the intuitive scale for Mac users.
Also, the delete / revert button are too close to the done button. Too easy to hit on accident.

However, this is documented in the Known Issues section of the Smart View 11.1.2.1 readme and could be worth a try:
When you try to open a Planning web form in Smart View through Workspace, you may get this error: “Web launch operation has been cancelled.” This happens if Essbase has not been added as a server in Shared Connections. Workaround: Open the Smart View Panel in Smart View and add an Essbase server as described in the online help or "Adding Essbase Servers" in chapter 2 of the Smart View User's Guide.

View options in iTunes

Under view options, I would like to sort albums by year and descending. This 'descending' option was in earlier versions if iTunes. How can we sort the albums where the new content appears on the top of the list?

Hi,
In song view you can sort a number of field by either ascending or descending order.
You can select year, click on heading, this changes to descending order, click again to get ascending.

DJ1970, Unfortunately no. iTunes does not have the key in the database.
People who want to know the key of a song can use (unless they already have perfect pitch!) key detection software such as Mixmeister.
Once you know the key, iTunes does not even have a field to store it, although you could stick it into Comments or some other unused text field such as Grouping. These fields are indeed viewable in iTunes.

Change view options for a single folder

I use the Finder exclusively in "column view".
I have a folder that contains some huge (> 1 GB) .tiff files. If I navigate to one of these files, the Finder tries to generate a preview image, but this typically takes more than a minute. I want to turn off the "Show preview column" for this folder (but only for this folder). Under Finder>View>View options I can hide the preview column, but this change applies to my entire file tree. I can't find a way to restrict the change to a single folder.
Note - if you work in "list view", the view options menu gives you a choice of making changes to "this window only" or "all windows". Not so in column view.

Probably the best option is to put that folder in list view. When you navigate to the folder containing that folder in your normal Column view, you can hold down the Command key and double click the folder. It will then open in a new window and display in List view. If you use this folder frequently, drag it to the Dock, when you select it from there it will open in List view. I have a number of things that I prefer to open in List or Icon view, rather than my usual Column view, but don't want to clutter up my Dock, so I keep aliases to some of them on my Desktop, and some in my home folder (depending on how often I access them). The ones on the Desktop open in the preferred form with a double click, the ones in my home folder open the way I want with a Command double click.

How to set view options for whole subdirectory tree

In the "shw view options" menu of the Finder, i can set the "show icon preview" and the "icon size" for a single window.
I wold like to apply these options to all directories in a given directory sub-tree (but not to all directories).
Doing this manually would be really tedious, since there are a lot of directories in my subdirectory.
Does anyone have an idea, how to do that more automatically?
