Phone Firmware report for hard coded devices
To roll out new phone firmware in UCM 9.1.2, we opted as first step after lab test to update some individual phones in production by hard coding the "Phone Load Name" field for several beta users. We also have some vpn phones that we hard coded with specific firmware load value that resolves some vulnerability. What I'm looking to do is figure out a query to report on all the phones that have been hard coded, and a way to bulk change these values or remove it.
Thank you
Unified Reporting -> System Reports -> Unified CM Phones With Mismatched Load will tell you what phones have an explicit phone load specified.
You can also use the command line to get the information too:
admin: run sql SELECT name, description, specialloadinformation FROM device WHERE specialloadinformation IS NOT NULL AND len(specialloadinformation)>0
You could use the SQL command line to update the firmware information, but BAT is a lot easier in this case.

Madfuload: A firmware uploader for M-Audio devices
My third PKGBUILD!
AUR wrote:
M-Audio (formerly Midiman) has released several pieces of hardware that require a firmware upload upon every hotplug. madfuload is a utility that detects the affected hardware via udev rules and uploads firmware appropriately.
Without madfuload, these select devices will appear to be ready but will not respond when interacted with by the user.
This is the initial release. As of now, the firmware only gets uploaded to the devices the first time they are present. I will try to fix this soon and upload a new package. If you have a solution, please post it as a comment and I will update it!
DON'T FORGET to adjust the sound card levels on your mixer! If this is the second sound card on your computer and you are using alsa, adjust it by using the command "alsamixer -c 1" See the man page for alsamixer for more details.

We have 2 iPads (one is a iPad 2 and the other iPad 1 32gb wi-fi's) and a MBA.
Everytime I get online with the MBA it slows down my wifes iPad2 to a crawl.
I just downgraded to 7.5.1 and it seemed to help some, but both iPads will drop from 20Mbps to 3-5Mbps if I use the MBA at the same time.
If you use both iPads at the same time which ever one you hit "restart test" on first will be the fastest. Each will run from 7-11Mbps.
I bought my AE as a refurb from Apple approx 5 months ago. -
SCCM Report for hard disk mode (IDE/AHCI)
May I ask you if anyone of you is aware of and has an example on how to create a SCCM report to find out if the hard disk mode is set to IDE or AHCI?
Many thanksYes, I know this is an old post, I’m trying to clean them up, Did you figure this out, if so how?
This information is not collected by default and therefore you will need to collect it first before you can report on it.

Handling Outer Join for hard coded values in the Logical Table Source
Has anyone tried to apply an outer join in the Logical Table Source Content Tab?
I have to add this APPLSYS.FND_LOOKUP_VALUES.LANGUAGE (+)= 'US' but the outer join is not allowed. I get this message.... [nQSError: 27002] Near <(>: Syntax error [nQSError: 26012] .
Could you tell me please how this should be handled? I have a lot of this cases in my project and without this being set-up affects the expected output of my report.
Thank you in advance.hi Ap,
Pull only Dim_W_LOV_D_Acty_Src column into answers and check whether u r able to see CUST_SRC_ACT or not .Of course, you need to check sql query too

Can Cisco Mars do the reporting for all devices (checkpint, ISS etc)
Is this is true that cisco mars can do the reporting for all the devices(like checkpoint, juniper, sonicwall, and IBM-ISS ) devices.
Requesting plz reply ASAPno, it's not true. the following MARS lists what mars has direct support for:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/security_management/cs-mars/4.3/compatibility/local_controller/dtlc43x.html
Anything else would require creating a custom parser, which is great functionality to have in a pinch but is a major pita to maintain. That's one of the biggest reasons to buy a SIM in the first place, so you don't have to manage parsing yourself. -
Custom report of all cisco devices

Hi All
I want to eliminate the need for hard coded values in my code . for example when I set an attribute as
setAttribute ("A", "This a good day")
I want to eliminate "This a good day" from the code and replace it with something else more sophisticated to reduce the code maintenance in the future . Do you have any solution for that ?
ThanksHi,
You can create your own messages in Application Developer Responsibility and then you can access those messages in OAF.
suppose message name is XX_TEST
so in the code use it like
String msg = pageContext.getMessage("<application short name of message>","XX_TEST",null);
then this variable you can use anywhere you want in the code.
setAttribute("A",msg);
Thanks,

User Logic for Conversion Type Instead of Hard coding in query.
Hello , Good response from SDN but thats all standard which I know. Please help me to resolve the problem as stated below. SDN friends are always best help.
Requirement: User will select the Target Currency; Will select the Exchange Rate like Monthly Avg 002M. Now there has to be a variable in Conversion which tells the logic to pick Conversion Type ZVHGR if Exchange Rate = 002M, but if Exchange Rate = 001, then Conversion Type ZVHMR.
<u><b>
Approach to solve abo</b></u>ve
1. I have created a Currency Translation Type " FiscperConversion" "ZVHGR" now this has Exchange Rate Type from Variable "ZVARN" (Which is a variable single value manual input on 0RTYPE Infoobject for exchange rate.)
2. Now Currency Tab: Target Currency is selected from Variable placed in the Report. ZRPVAR.
3. Now the Variable Time Reference is used. Standard Infoobject 0FISCPER
which is beginning of period.
Now all the above is done. Let go to the query and For Value of kEYFIGURE "Audit Balance" in Conversion Tab Conversion Type is specified is "FiscperConversion" ZVHGR"same as above and thats it. But the problem is here user want a variable that user can select the Conversion Type Instead of Hard coding.
<b>Please suggest how to create this variable for Conversion Type and specify in query designer since In Conversion Tab this is not allowed to have variable.</b>
Please help me very soon
Thanks
Soniya Kapoor
nullHello soniya
CTK ( currency translation key) includes
1. Exchange rate type - variable
2. Time base - Variable
3. Source abd TGT currency - variable
if all the things are given in variable why and what extra you need by selecting currency translation key from user input. I think you should ask business user again abt their requirement.
I can think of inputing CTK if say you have choosen time base as static ( Fix value)...say in one key u r using fiscal period as base and in other u r using calday as base...
Thanks

Phone Firmware upgrade Startegy for 9.1 -- 10.5 migration
Hello,
We are planning our migration from CUCM 9.1 to 10.5.
I want to do a phone firmware upgrade before upgrading the cluster, to minimize phone upgrades. Planning to use PFD (Peer File) for this.
My question is, what would be the best strategy to upgrade the firmware?
I am not sure if the current load in 9.1 will be supported by 10.5, and if 10.5 device pack/load is installed on 9.1, would 9.1 support it.
So should I upload the 10.5 pack on 9.1 and upgrade the phones in groups, or would 10.5 support it.
The other thing is, I just want to confirm, after a cluster reboot/version switch (in upgrade), would the phones restart and try to upgrade or would only try to connect to available CUCM.
The compatibility Matrix is a bit confusing.
Thanks,
AK.Thanks for the reply guys.
I DID try to upload the 10.5 pack in CUCM 9.1, but it rejected it. so no way it will do that. For the file this is what I understand:
1- COP files: contain script to upgrade the firmware
2- loads files: contains the actual firmware
So would a good strategy be:
-Register all phones on Sub first. Keep Sub as Primary.
-Upgrade Publisher.
-Register a group of phones on Upgraded publisher (by making changes on PUB), by making Pub primary for them.
-the Phone group Upgrades the firmware
-Group of Phone gets upgraded. move to next group.
-After all Phones are upgraded, upgrade the sub.
If there is a better way to do it, please let me know. The biggest challenge we have is to get all 3000 phones migrated in 1 night.
Thanks guys. Appreciate it! -
Generate Active load report for Cisco IP Phones
Hello All,
We have a cluster contains around 24,000 IP phones, and we have a migration very close so we want to get the report of the phones whichever running with the old phone firmware.
Our current active load should be : SCCP42.9-3-1SR2-1S
So please let me know, is there any way me to run a report and get the details of the active load for all the phones ?
Thanks.I believe the solutions below will address your concerns.
The PC that is daisy chained to the IP phone could capture the mac adresses by the attacker reading it physically on the IP phone and then set the pc network port to that mac address. The attacker could then configure its own verified MAC adress on a loopback interface, thus the PC would be able to access both its Data VLAN and the former IP Phones Voice VLAN.
And since the link between the Switch and the IP Phone acts like a trunk link VLAN hopping can occur.
********To prevent the end user from reading the mac address on the bottom of the phone, you could physically remove the mac label. To prevent the end user from seeing the mac via the phone display, you would disable the Setting access setting the in the phone configuration in call manager, which would prohibit access to the settings button on the phone.
Another attack vector would be a Cisco switch configured for CDP and configured with the same MAC address as either the IP Phone or the PC. The attacker could then gain ciritical information about the state of the Corporate switch. In order for this to work the switch would need to have STP disabled so no BPDU would get broadcasted.
***********In this scenario, you could leave stp enabled, but enable bpdu guard on the port, then if it receives any bpdus, it could place the port in err-disable state.*************
The final attack I can think of is that the PC launches a Double VLAN tagging assault by tagging its packet as the Voice VLAN and then encapsulating the desired attack VLAN inside than Voice VLAN tag.
*************To prevent double vlan tagging by the pc, you would disable the pc voice vlan for the phones within the call manager.***********
Hope this helps. -
Strategy for managing phone firmwares
Hi,
I would like your advice on phone firmware management.
We are running a big CUCM 8.6 cluster with many site offices. The phone firmware version in device defaults is 9.3
When we order new phones, we receive phones with firmware versions less than 9.3 and greater than 9.3.
When the firmware version is less than 9.3, we dont have an issue. The phones just upgrade.
When the firmware version of the new phones is greater than 9.3, then we have had issues. Phones dont do the downgrade of the firmware from a higher version to a lower version. Does Cisco support downgrade of the phone firmware from a higher to a lower version? How do we know which version downgrades have been tested by Cisco. I dont see much info about downgrade in the release notes.
How do we manage this situation?
We dont want to add the new devices with a special load as we would like all devices in our network to have the same load.
Is upgrading the phone firmware globally on CUCM on a regular basis the only solution?
Please let me know how you manage the issue of phone firmwares on CUCM?
Many thanks for your help!!
Regards
PeteHi Pete,
Just to add some new fun into things, you now have to watch for
new "Hardware" versions as well. This will also impact the upgrade
& downgrade determinations made by certain phones when they
look to register. So your new phones won't downgrade to the older 9.x version and
this is why you are seeing these anomalies
So if you move past 9-3-1sr1 in the general device defaults you should be good to go.
Hardware Updates
The hardware updates improve the compatibility of internal phone components.
The following table lists the updated hardware versions that require this release.
Phone Hardware Version
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G
15.0 and higher
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7962G
15.0 and higher
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7945G
13.0 and higher
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7965G
13.0 and higher
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7975G
12.0 and higher
Phones manufactured with these hardware versions must run Firmware Release 9.3(1)SR1 or later. The phone firmware does not allow the phone to be downgraded to releases earlier than Release 9.3(1)SR1.

Rolling Fiscal YR reporting - trying to eliminate hard-coding
Hello,
I'm trying to create an embedded report that shows sales order history for only the current fiscal year. The only way I've been able to get the report to run correctly is by hard-coding the dates, but I'm trying to get away hard-coding. I've tried YEAR(invoice date) = YEAR(current_date), but this shows calendar year. I've also tried YEAR(Invoice Date) = valueof(NQ_SESSION.CURRENT_YEAR), but this pulls all dates b/c it is a session report.
Is all date fields in analytics mapped to custom fiscal years set by Oracle? And, if it does map, then can anyone give an example of case statement or function to try?
Thanks. Thanks: I did post to the OpenSource projects forum over there. Would it be appropriate in the general announcements as well?

I just got my replacement phone from Warranty. The phone was on for just 2 hours and it crashed. I was told that motorola knows about this "possible" issue. I got a new sim, hard reset, If it can be done I did it. They are now sending me the same phone again. Number 3. I would hope this one doesn't crash but I rather have a different phone so I can enjoy using my account. The phone's most recent error was today. " Unfortunately, the process com.motorola.widget.circlewidget3d" has stopped. At least the error message works and it's polite. I told tech this and they could not answer my question or help me other then "let's do a hard reset" My warranty replacement is coming on Monday. Let's hope this one works. Anyone else havinbg the same problem. it says "such and such as stop working" on all sorts of stuff! Help! I want my iPhone Back!
I just did a google search on this issue. OMG, I got a ton of videos on this or similar issues. Each one says in some way to clear the cache, reset the data, etc. Why in the world would this continue to happen and they not do a fix that resloves this without having to lose or stop what your doing. This is a very long and constant issue it seems with Android phones as there must have been pages and pages of what I now call "Unfortunately" So I am going to pray that Verizon helps me out and gets me away from this issue and helps me go back to iPhone or try the Samsung.

Output type for the managed codes cut letter is hard coded
Hello,
Very Good afternoon!
I have a requirement to create new Output Types for a Smart Form.
The already existing Output types are hard coded as shown Below :
CONSTANTS : c_kschl_order LIKE nast-kschl
VALUE 'ZUS0',
c_kschl_order1 LIKE nast-kschl
VALUE 'ZUS1',
Now they do not want to use ZUS1. Insted they wnat to use New Output Types.
u2022 Remove ZUS1 as we no longer use this one.
u2022 Add ZAU0
u2022 Add ZNZ0
u2022 Add ZJP0
u2022 Add ZCN0
u2022 Add ZKR0
How to add these Output types without Hardcoding as shown ABove.
Any Suggestions will be appreciated.....
For reference..I will paste the code of the Program here.
Here is the code :

I am trying to update my iTunes to 10.5.1 so that I can upgrade my 3GS phone but am getting the following error message when trying to install the itunes: Install step failed: Run pre upgrade script for apple mobile device support. Contact software manufacturer for assistance. I am on a MacBook pro running 10.5.8 OS. Has anyone seen this before and how can I get it resolved.
Thanks for your help in advance....Did you ever figure out the problem? "Contact Software Manufacturer"?? That sounds ominous... I've got the same issue and I'm pretty durn aggravated right about now....
Thanks!
