Phone forwarding

my iPhone 5s is forwarding calls to another phone on my plan if I do not answer it within 2 rings. I have checked call forwarding and it is not on. It just started doing this after we updated our phones to iOS 8

That's the problem. Are you the user of both iPhones, if yes this is IOS 8 new feature.
If no, make sure other than in Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: > here to share purchases,
make sure your Apple ID isn't used anywhere else (iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, etc...) on the other iPhone.

Iff the Caller number is Displayed on Phone B it goes to Phone B voicemail.
If DID of phone A is displayed on Phone B it goes to voicemail with a message welcome to Cisco Unity messaging system, without a greeting.
If Local Extension of Phone A is displayed on Phone B, call goes to Phone A voicemail.
I am not able to understand what is happening here.
Please give me some solution. Your help will be highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Saurabh Kumar

    Hello Saurabh,
    This is due to:
    •Called number
    •First redirecting number
    •Last redirecting number
Just to add additional input to Chris suggestion, if you do the change of "Use Last (Rather than First) Redirecting Number for Routing Incoming Call" , make sure you understand the full impact in your dial plan deployment, to avoid other possible call routing issues.

  • Spam from phone # asking for private info to unlock account

I got a text to unlock my account from a phone number 917-564-5996 this is spam, is anyone else getting this?

I've not heard of this, so I would say it's spam. If you'd like to report it to Verizon, I've copied and pasted a how-to. I borrowed it from a March CNN Tech article and used it to report a spam text from Wal-Mart. It worked as intended. Here's how:
When you receive a spam text message on your phone, forward that text to the shortcode 7726 (which spells "SPAM"). You'll then receive an automated message from your wireless carrier, asking you then to enter the phone number from which the spam text was sent.

  • BB charge for forwarding e-mail?

    Can someone help me here...
I was given detailed guidance by an 'Orange' helpdesk operator for getting my pop e-mail fowarded to my BB 8900.
I still can't set up e-mail though. A second call to another 'orange' tech told me that I have to have a monthly plan to get e-mails forwarded! and that there are no other options...
2 years ago, before I switched to an Android phone, I used a BB Curve 8520...and got my e-mails forwarded for free.
Can someone enlighten me as to what the rest of the world knows, and I don't?
(I pay about £10 - £15 a month for my TalkTalk broadband with e-mail, and about £10 a month PAYG... Why on earth would I then pay more money (another £5 or what ever it is) for the privelage of receiving my e-mails, when all other phones forward them for free?)
    Dave

Most other phones don't fetch your email from your account, send it through the company's servers where the email is compressed (saving you a LOT of data consumption), then forward it to your phone.
BlackBerry phones have probably the best email push capabilities on the planet.  For that, you must pay.
    I hope that helps you.

  • Forward unregistered in Hunt pilot

    Hi all,
    I currently use CCM4.2(1)sr1a.
I've configured a hunt group with forward no answare or busy to unity.
Can I forward an incoming call to an external pstn destination when all phones in this hung group are unregistered?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tommy

There is no solution, I send a call to a secondary line in a phone, forward no answer to hunt group and forward unregistered to pstn line.
    Bye

  • Staying reachable by U.S. phone number when abroad

    Hi!
I am actually on a minute plan with my U.S. phone. h2o does not allow to use the phone abroad in Europe (no roaming).
I would like to find out if there is any possibility to keep my phone number with this minute plan and stay somehow reachable under this number in Austria, Europe.
I think there must be some possibility to do some call forwarding from my U.S. phone to a Skype Online Number which I have not yet ... but what is after?
I have an Austrian phone number. Can I addititionally configure Skype to forward from the Online Number to my Austrian phone number? If yes, how?
    Silvia
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you buy skype credit you can have your phone forwarded with  a skype online number for  27.8 cents a minute, Which is kind of high, You can buy a subscription for I think up to 600 minutes for mobiles. Make sure you pick the landlines and mobile tab, and not just the landlines tab, There is another option there is a company called Kall8 that has a toll free number that will follow you anywhere in the world you are, I have used it in Dubai, Afghanistan, Russia and most of the Soviet block countries. You will have to check the price list as where you are determines the price/ minute to mobiles.
If you found a post useful, please give Kudos. If it helped to fix your issue, mark it as a solution to help others.
    Thank You!

First thing is I don't know anything about struts, you should have posted in some other forum like that for JSP or other....
From the exception, I can say that maybe method signature needs to be:
public ActionForward EmailSearch( ActionMapping am, ActionForm af, HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)instead of:
public ActionForward EmailSearch(ActionForm af, ActionMapping am, HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws ExceptionBut don't take my advice to be authentic in any way, thats just a hunch....
And yes, change other method signatures also, if I'm correct , by any chance.
    Thanks!

  • Magnetic charging port and loss of mobile data

I finally decided to switch to Android once I felt the iPhone update was not worth the high price tag. I decided on an Xperia Z3, and so far I have had to replace 2 devices and I am considering returning this one also. The first phone had a dead pixel so this was a quick return and replacement. The second developed problems with the magnetic charging port about 2 months after I received it - for instance in the magnetic charging dock I bought I suddenly had to start propping the phone forwards for it to connect and another magnetic attachment that clips on to the end of the microUSB cable kept connecting and disconnecting. Added to this, it demonstrated the problem I have seen mentioned here and elsewhere with the Z range of phones, in that it will often fail to regain its 3g signal after having lost it however restarting the phone will allow it to reconnect (until it does it again).
I hoped that replacing this phone would finally allow me to enjoy my phone, however right from the beginning it has demonstrated the same signal problem and while the magnetic port is slightly better with the magnetic clip it still wont connect to the charging dock and needs tilting forward slightly for my in-car charger.
I know the chargers are not the problem as my fiancee has the same phone which works perfectly. I don't know whether this is something to do with her buying hers straight from Sony while I got mine from Amazon (directly, not a seller) but I have no idea why that should make a difference to the quality of the handset. Are Sony known for build quality issues with their phones?
I can put up with the magnetic charging port if there is a reliable way of fixing the 3g issue, if anyone can suggest anything I will give it a try. If there isn't anything then I will have to send this phone back and in all likelihood will probably go back to apple

It'll be wise to install or reinstall the latest update with PC Companion (PCC)

  • Why is changing my number such a problem?

All I want is a number change. I have moved to a new city with a different area code, and all I want, which is very basic, is to have anyone that dials the old number to be forwarded to the new number or a message stating the new number. I am a telecom engineer and know there is no technical limitation to prevent this, but have gotten nothing but roadblocks on making it happen. I was told by a chat rep that they could for up to 3 months, but calling customer service they said it couldn't be done. Getting the run around here. I know for a fact that verizon landline service provides an announcement with the new number. Why can't they do it with cell? Just make the number virtual and an announcement voicemail that states the new number!!!!!
Option 1. Give me a new number and forward the old for 1 month
Option 2. Give me a new number and let me set up a vmail box, announcement only, point caller to the new number.
Option 3. Let me port to Google Voice to forward without terminating my contract, even though I want to keep your service, and just want a new local number!
This is just crazy!!!! Such simple things that they won't let me do.

Why is it you want verizon to jump through hoops? The number you have will ring no matter where you are so a new number is not really necessary. You are not charged long distance and with today's phone service I doubt anyone else is either.
You just change your number if you desire, in the old land line days that phone forwarding message was useful but like everything today it has been discontinued its progress I guess.
Just remember your number was not transferred even in cases you moved across the street, today the number follows you all over the world. Progress?
Changing a number is also risky in that the last person who had it could of been doing something to break the law, or had bill collectors calling all night and day, or other annoyances. Keep the number you have and stay happy. That is my advice.

There is a feature where I can change my current local area code, but I don't understand what it does, or if it's necessary when I'm temporarily away from my home city. Please help!

  • N97 Mini screen problem

    Hi all
I just got a brand new N97 mini via a private sale, i was just wondering if anyone had experienced the same issue i have
The bottom of the screen is showing the white backlight in a thin strip across the bottom where the screen is supposed to be
so in otherwords i have a screen that is maybe 0.2mm too short so the backlight is showing ? does this make sense ?
i can only get rid of it by tilting the phone forward so im viewing at a different angle
Is this one for a nokia care point?
    any advice welcome
    thanks alot

Without seeing the phone it's difficult to advise, and sounds like a physical problem to refer to Nokia Care Centre, however you could try installing a new theme, if the line dissappears just carry on using the phone !
Try here, I've used loads without a problem:

  • Forwading, different ways...

Ok, so I think I got the forwarding down. Spoke to an Apple tech this morning when dealing with ATT support for other issues. HOWEVER the old ways of forwarding calls apparently doesn't work or was he wrong?
61*11122233335# used to forward calls to the number if I didn't answer the phone after a 5 second pause.
0021112223333 would just forward all calls bypassing the phone.
Now I'm told to goto Settings->Phone->Forwarding
    [Feature Request]: Multiple Forward list.
While that's NICE here's the problem. I forward to up to 7 different numbers depending on where I'm at, what I'm doing, etc... Most times I'm forwarding to the office or my OTHER cell phone (the one with signal).
Most times the preset numbers above (held in contacts) will work but not all the time. ATT said these shouldn't work at all and that the phone itself is doing the forwarding -OK but it takes off the mins used on my contract - NOT GOOD (if I'm on the office phone it has no battery and I could take 1hr calls all day long thus using up my mins in a week). And YES it does take off the mins, there are a dozen calls on the bill from last month that I know were taken on different phones...
So what's right? Or what have others done? Any input would be appreciated. No offense but the Apple tech's phone was distorted and I doubt he heard me because he kept saying the same thing over and over again when I asked.

No matter how you set up forwarding it will use minutes if the caller calls your mobile number. This is true for AT&T and all other carriers. If you don't want it to work this way you must get a non-mobile number and make that your primary phone number. Then forward that number to where you will be. You can do this with most VoIP providers and most landline telephone companies as well as Skype and other Internet phone services.
For one very innovative solution take a look at Grand Central, a Google service: http://www.grandcentral.com/

  • Writing to an xml document, not working.

    Hey all,
I'm trying to do something pretty simple, just setting up a phone forwarding script (I believe it is the one that came with CCX) that reads XML documents to forward and unforward the phones.  But I cant for the life of me get the script to actually write to a status file on ccx.  Please take a look at my script and help me out.

Figured it out.  You have to write to a different directory.

  • IChat - Failure to close

I have recently installed the new OS X V10.5. I was trying my iChat and then went to close it by placing it in the 'trash' and it would not close or shut down. I also tried from the top left hand where it has the name 'iChat" and tried from there. It still would not. I then tried to shut down the whole computer and it would not allow me to.
I was forced to do a 'hard shutdown'.
Anyone want to try and help me.
    Thanks

I have seen several threads with Phone Forwarding listed as pat of the issue (If not the whole issue).
I am not sure that is relevant here.
I have not seen this error myself.
You seemed to have covered most of what any of the regular Posters would have suggested.
There are circumstances where one iChat Screen Name will have issues where another one will not.
AIM periodically clear out what they consider to be Unused Screen Names and release them back for re-registration.
Now this has a knock on effect to the people who might have one of those names in their Buddy List still as they are removed from there as well.
This tends to mean your Buddy List is not accessible for a while.
In the past AIM did this in Early December (pre Christmas) and at 4 monthly intervals after that.
When AIM started doing this it caused chaos as previously names had been "For Life"
The first time they also lost contact with the then @Mac.com data base.
The next December that had issues with all @mac .com names that contained more than 12 character before the @mac bit.
It has been smoother more recently as the early attempts also cleared out the largest amount of "dead" names.
It seems unusual that you are having what looks like a similar issue in Jan (Unless AIM have changed their timings on this).
Do you have another Mac User account on your Mac where you could test the Screen Name you are using ?
Any chance the Mac User account you are using has Parental Controls applied to it ?

  • LG Cosmos 2 - VN251

    Hello!
Last week I purchased the LG Cosmos 2 and for the most part I am quite fond of the phone. However, I've noticed the phone has a horribly long charging time.  It will take up to a few hours for the phone to completely charge.  Today I plugged it in at 4pm and now, at 8:30pm it still is not reading as fully charged.  Is this somehow normal?  Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks!

Got my first Cosmos 2 on Tuesday and it has a peculiar problem neither tech support, the Verizon store, or LG have a clue about and cannot seem to fix.  If the phone is powered off for more than about a half hour, when it is powered up again the phone will not receive calls.  Calls made to the phone are immediately routed to voice mail.  There is no indication on the phone that this is happening.  If I then make an outgoing phone call, the phone will thereafter receive calls normally.  All the missed calls and voice mails then show up on the phone.
On Thursday I brought the 1st phone back to the store and described the problem.  They checked that call forwarding was off, which it was.  They claimed they had seen a number of cases of phones forwarding calls to "non working numbers" and that this had happened even if call forwarding was not selected.  They suggested that if problem reoccurred, I should dial *720 which cancels call forwarding.
During the day on Thursday I turned the phone off and on periodically to see if the problem reoccurred.  It kept recurring.  Nothing prevented it, not dialing *720 or *920 either.  Only making an outgoing call fixed it.
I called tech support from my land line while the cell phone was not receiving incoming calls and demonstrated the problem.  Tech support said he had never had this problem before,  Had me go through the activation menu and update roaming.  Had me read off the settings from a service menu.  He was seemed stumped.  He suggested it might be a hardware problem and that I should swap the phone for another.
Friday morning I brought the 1st phone back to the store, and demonstrated the problem again.  They gave me another Cosmos 2,  I went home,  turned this phone off for a half hour, and bingo - same problem.
For whatever reason if the phone is turned off for less than a 30 minutes, this does not seem to happen.
Anyone have any clue what is going on?
They only solution seems to be to never power the phone off, which typically I do each night.
I suspect other Cosmos 2 phones have this problem but their owners do not notice because: 1) they never power it off, or 2) they make an outgoing call or text shortly after turning on the phone (which fixes the problem).  Users like myself who might not make an outgoing call all day could potentially miss a lot of incoming calls.  This problem needs to be correctly daignosed and fixed.
Other Cosmos 2 owners - power off your phones for 30 minutes and see if you have the problem as well.  If so please report the problem so hopefully Verizon will devise a fix.
