Phone freezes up when media card is in phone

I have had my phone for a couple of weeks. I have a 4gb card that I have had in my phone for over a week. Now it is freezing up when the card is in the phone. Once I take the card out the phone works just fine. Any ideas of what I might of done?

Media card wont read on phone or PC. "Media card can not be accessed due to fatal errors"

I've had my blackberry curve 8520 for over a year and never had any problems with the media card until now. I'm unable to look at any pictures, videos or music on my phone as i can not install the media card on my phone. I'm unable to repair it and format it also. The media card will also not be read when I plug it into my laptop with the USB.
I definitely know its the media card and not my phone itself as I've tried my brothers media card in my phone and it worked perfectly. When i put my media card in his phone, it did the same thing and came up with the same error.
Does anyone know how i'll be able to make the media card read in my phone or my pc so I can backup the data as I don't really want to lose it all?

From what you describe, the data that was on the media card is already gone. If the PC cannot read it and the BB cannot read it, then it has for some reason been fried. I'm sorry for your loss.
You can try PC-based recovery utilities, but typically with flash memory (as opposed to magnetic memory of hard drives), once the data is gone, it's gone for good. But, you never know...give some of those a try and see what happens. Before you ask, no...I've no guidance for one versus another.

To my knowledge, I've only seen this for imessage only and not SMS.
The other users would need to have send read receipts enabled on their phone.

BBCurve freezes w. Media Card - Photos

Alright,
So I have denoted that the problem is deftinitely that pesky *.dat file problem that most have encountered.
The easiest solution is deleting all of the DAT files off of the media card, but as soon as the that is complete, and the Curve has a chance to scan the media card again, it generates those DAT files and screws itself up again.
Now I have seen a few people mention large photo files causing the problem. Since it is inevitably related to these bloody DAT files (RIM staff, anyway you can help us out, or what!?) has anyone been able to pinpoint what common problems cause these DAT files to act up?
I keep the same photos on the card in the same folder structure. Nothing is moving, so it has to be either a photo size or quantity of files in a folder. With that in mind, does anyone have any suggestions? What should I be looking for? I know the best solution is to just delete the media, but then why the hell did I even bother buying this media card!?

Just a quick note: RIM does not participate directly in these forums, they are just intended for user to user support.
I would suggest moving all your files off the media card, formatting it from the phone. The next step is crucial, be careful to transfer only the media files back to the card i.e. don't copy and paste entire folders because they may have hidden .dat files.
What device OS are you running by the way? Options>About, 3rd line down says v4.x.x.xxx?
And did you recently purchase the media card and install it? Did you recently transfer files to the card when problems started occuring? Perhaps there is a corrupted media file causing the problems.

Hello, I have formated my media card twice and satred over with putting only media on it and it still locks up my phone, any suggestions on what to do next?

Phone freezes up when charging

iphone 5 freezes up when charging. I will go to look at the time and the screen is dark and i have to do a reset on it to get it to turn on. Only seems to be happpening on the charger. I depend on this for an alarm clock and I am on call 24/7 for work I cant afford to have this happening. Any one else having this problem or is there any fixes.

I backed up my phone and now when I plug in my phone and it takes me to the set up as new or restore this from backup page

Phone Freezes up when Closing out multiple Apps in Multitasking toolbar.

Hello World...umm.. I am not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but every since I have upgraded to os 4 on my 3G S... whenever I proceed to close apps out of my multitask toolbar after the 4th app closed in a row my phone COMPLETELY LOCKS UP! Unresponsive mode major. I hold the lock button to turn it off and nothing happens I keep pressing the home button and nothing happens. It just freezes in the toolbar but the apps are still wiggling? Anyone might have heard whats going on with this? I have to hold my lock button and home button to reset it and reboot to resume usage of my phone. Thanks...

This happens to me also. I think it's a bug in the software
It happened on my 3GS and also happens on my iPhone 4.
It doesn't only happen when closing out of the 4th or 5th app, sometimes it happens to me on the first app or just at random times. It takes about 2 minutes for the phone to unfreeze, or you can simply restart it.
Apple needs to fix this, and also recall these iPhone 4s because of the antenna issue they're refusing to accept.

I suffer same. AppleCare can't seem to solve the problem. I did a restore from backup. Then I did a restore as new phone (virgin). Then I did a restore as a new device and then backed up from a stored backup (which does not replace media). To no avail. Some days it works fine, and on others it's extremely bothersome. The major symptoms:
1. It can take 5+ seconds to delete a photo.
2. It can take 10+ seconds for the camera app to activate. In many instances, the moment is long gone.
3. Switching from camera to video can take 5+ seconds.
4. Saving a photo that's been optimized in iOS 5 can take 30 seconds. Absurd.
Note that Photos and Camera aren't the only affected applications. What'sApp can have the same issues on occasion. Voice Memos don't respond like they should, either. I suspect that there's some behind-the-scenes operations with network feed to which iOS gives its full attention (contrary to the UX getting full attention is is historically the case). This makes the user interface painfully slow at times — and, as most of us here would agree — painfully annoying. This might have to do with changes designed around iCloud, but I'm not even (yet) using it.
The bottom line is that what used to be a quick, pretty good phone camera is now totally lackluster and unreliable for fast shots. Sometimes I think Apple spends too much time worrying about form and not enough about function.

How do I change the email the phone defaults to when emailing pictures from the phone?

When I select a pictre from the photo library and opt to email it the phone always defaults to the wrong email address. I have several (as most of us probably do) and want pictures to send from my main account. Very puzzling, especially for recipients.

Sadly, that's one by one...but, if you connect to your PC and activate Mass Storage Mode, you can use your computer to perform the actions, using your normal computer interface (which should allow you to move them all as a block rather than one by one):

How to access media card on phone bb 9360?

hi all! please help! I need to know how to access my media card on my phone: blackberry 9360. when I download or save pics or songs to my phone on to the media card, I can't access them at a later stage! Please assist me!

MicroSD Media Card is not being recognized by my BB 8100

Hi,
I currently have that problem with my Blackberry Pearl 8100.
I put it a New 1 GB MicroSD (Patriot) card and connected the cable to the PC and on the PC I created a folder and added the music to it and pictures. It worked fine but one day I took the SIM card out just because and when my phone restarted it would not go pass the providers screen. It stays there, it seems it freezes and it cannot be turned off. So, I took the media card out and turned it on and it displays the screen with no problem. So again I turned it off and installed the card back in and it still the same problem. I also somehow I installed the media card in the phone without taking the battery out but it still doesn't recognize the card. Under Options says card is not installed.
The first time I installed the card I don't think it was formatted(not sure). But it was working fine.
I have installed another card and it still doesn't recognize another card. Also,the media card I tried it on another phone and it is not recognized.
Why would it work the first time as BrandonV(below) but not even locate it or make the phone not work while it has the Media card in?

Anyone else be kind enough to propose a solution.

Don't know why the BB would stop seeing the media card, but as far as your important stuff... have you tried putting the card into a reader hooked up to the PC to at least retrieve that stuff or move it to that other card that does work?

Try this.
1) With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery.
2) Remove the media card
3) Insert the battery and replace the back cover.
4) After boot up (~5 mins), check your Memory stats to be sure that is says that no media card is present.
5) Pull out the battery again
6) Put the media card back in and then insert the battery and reboot
7) Launch the Media app and see if it is "Scanning" the media card (as it does for any new media card insertion).

1Gb Media Card Wont Be Recognized As Present Anymore

MEDIA CARD CANT BE READ DUE TO FATAL ERRORS

Hi, I took my blackberry 9630 tour to the repairers to fix my trackball because it wasn't functioning. They fixed my trackball but the problem is when I insert my media card on the phone, I got a message sayng "media card cannot be accessed due to fatal errors" and I got shocked because the card was working before they opened my phone. Can someone please help me get back my 700 music files and pictures because they are important :'(

To better determine if the issue is being caused by the media card or the BlackBerry® smartphone, I would suggest testing the media card in a PC, if the card is working transfer the files to your PC and then reformat the card and then test in the BlackBerry.
