Phone froze and now stays on white htc screen.

My phone froze earlier and i couldnt turn it off or do anything so i pulled the battery and now when i power it up it goes straight to the white htc screen
and stays there, it wont do anything else, what can i do?

Did you upgrade the IOS to ICS? I purchased my phone in January and I had no issues with it until the IOS updated around August. Once that happened the phone started getting stuck in a reboot loop for no apparent reason (mid-use it would restart itself), figured out how to fix that, then it started overheating randomly (no apps open & when a bunch of apps were open) and then it would just shut itself off. Finally this happened.
I brought it into the store and they really weren't any help. They did a search to see if there was a fix for it but didn't actually TRY to fix the problem, just told me they'd send me a "new" phone on Monday.

If not successful and you can't turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour, try the above again.

I tried to update the software for my iPhone 4S. It froze, and now won't turn off, or on, or sync. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I tried to update the software for my iPhone 4S, 16 GB to the most recent version (8.1?). I don't know what I was updating from, because I can't access that, but it was whatever was installed on it (I got it about a year ago, so probably 6.something).
It froze, and now won't turn off, or on, or sync with my macbook plus, which is what I have always sync'd it to. (I backed it up and sync'd it right before I tried to update the software.)
Since it originally froze almost 3 hours ago, it shows a white screen with the apple on it and a line underneath. When I try to sync with my laptop, it says it needs me to enter a passcode on the phone, which I can't enter because the screen is frozen. So I'm unable to access the iPhone portion of iTunes.
I have tried to turn it off, with no luck. I have tried rebooting my laptop and syncing, but I still get the same result.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I really wanted to wait to update the software, but I was having internet connectivity issues for the past 3 weeks, and Sprint suggested updating the phone's software.

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

Go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. Also, since you have IOS-7, read this.

Obviously not charging in not normal.
But iOS 7 checks to make sure that the lighting connector is certified by Apple. All Apple Lightning connectors and most Lightning connectors from recognized third parties are certified. But some third parties shortcut the certification process and these cables may not work with your phone.
If you are not using the original Lightning connector or a connector from Apple try that first.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If it does not resolve the issue, the device is permanently damaged and will require replacement.

You don't metion whether the car was hot or cold.

I have the same problem. My Ipad 3 was a bit slow/unresponsive, and then it just went blank. I pressed the home button to see if it would come back on, and it was extremely slow, but it did show me the home screen. However, then it went off and wont come back on at all now. I have tried charging, tried the reboot, connected to itunes (which cannot detect the ipad) and nothing is working.
The ipad is only 2 months old, and no damage!
