8900 two days old - trying hard to conquer - cannot locate the phone icon - can anyone help please?

Oh! The Call Log icon...yes, as above it's hidden in the App folder. Alternatively, you can launch the phone app (with the Green phone key) and one of the selections there should also allow you to access the call log.

ride1992 is correct. You may have moved the Phone icon to another page of your home screen. Fortunately the Phone icon is not one that can be deleted - only moved. Information for editing or resetting your home screen is found in the pages ride1992 mentioned.

If you are using an iPad, a contact will not have a phone icon next to the phone number unless that contact has FaceTime available. See this help page for reference -

Phone icon contents missing

The contents of the phone icon on my iPhone 5 (64GB and recently updated to iOS 8.1) are all missing. I can receive calls and see who is calling, but I cannot make calls and access my contacts. I tried restoring it, but it did not change anything. When I search for one of the contacts it does show that contact, but I still cannot dial or access other contacts through the phone app. Has anyone had a similar problem?

It sounds like you are opening the Phone app but you cannot use any of the tabs even after you restored your device from a backup. I would quit all the running apps:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If that does not resolve the issue, I would next backup and restore the device as new with iTunes and re test:
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If that does resolve it, then restore your backup and verify it still works, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

HELP - missing phone icon

Am new to smartphones...I got a Droid Maxx this week - while "sweeping" my fingers on the main screen, I moved the phone icon off the screen and cannot figure how to get it back. Please Help!

Welcome to Android...and your problem is easily solved if you haven't already got it figured out. Tap the Apps icon to see list of all the apps installed on the phone. Swipe till you see the phone icon, press and hold itto drag it back to your home screen.
From there you can press and hold and drag it to your favorites at the bottom so it's always there no matter what screen of apps you are on.

Why is my app missing the tablet/phone icon in the Windows store when I have linked my phone app to my Windows Store app

I recently updated two apps that I had developed both Windows and Windows phone apps for. They were not originally linked as they were developed before there was a linking process. I updated both the phone apps to have the same in app purchases
as their corresponding Windows app and then linked their app package ids to there corresponding Windows apps as well. However, only one of the two apps I updated now shows the Tablet/Phone icon in the Windows Phone store. I would really like that
icon to appear as I think it will help downloads. I linked the app packages the same on both apps so I don't know why one is showing the icon and the other is not. The updated has been published for over a week so I don't think it's a timing issue.

It's just you. And the Caps Lock key on your keyboard is stuck. You should get that fixed.

Plug the cable into the iPhone and into a USB port directly on your computer, not a USB hub. Also make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

I have lost my 'music, mail, safari and phone' icons and i cant get them back alothough i can still find them when i search for them in the search bar.

my 'music, mail, safari and phone' icons have gone from my home screen and the rest of my apps have spread out only show 16 on a page (instead of 20) i have no idea how to get them back and have tried resetting home screen which did nothing. i can get onto these applications but i have to search for them in the search screen. can anyone help me get these icons back? if so please help

this just rearanges the icons in the same order but with the screen still set up with only 16 icons an the bottom 4 (muisc mail...) missing are there any other ways i can get them back?

Nokia Maps Icon Missing?

Good day everyone.
i have just bought this new Nokia Asha 303 phone and i thought the software installed in the phone is incomplete because i cant seem to find the shortcut for nokia maps. I installed the nokia suite in my pc and check for software updates and it is up to date. I already tried factory reset, but nothing, still the same. Is it possible to restore the missing icon? thanks for any help.

Right after having my new phone I started exploring its possibilities testing applications from Ovi store. At some point I got some problems with an application so I decided it would be a good idea to try a reset... I first try with an app settings reset to defaults (from the s40 Configuration menu, not the Restoring Factory Defaults menu)... right after that I realized I didn't have Nokia Maps icon in any of the lists of installed applications, nor I could found any loader in both file units, phone and memory card, for it... I was not 100% sure the icon vanished after settings reset, but I supposed it, so I thought something went definitely wrong and I decided to try reset to factory defaults as I just started testing the phone so I hadn't any information saved there to lose... what I could not expect it's that a factory reset will not yield the software at the same very state as what I received short time before. In addition to not getting back the Nokia Maps icon, I noticed another difference in the system, I have an Introduction icon in the list of default applications, that triggers a video playback showing the phone basics... now when I push that button, the playback starts but only for the audio, and instead of the video I show a black screen with a NOKIA logo in the center, the same very screen I see when boot up the phone. Contact icon missing

I have an IPhone 4 using iOS 6. My Contacts icon is missing and can only be accessed by clicking my Phone icon. I've already reset my Home Screen layout. I don't have a Utilities folder. Any other suggestions?

Look in Spotlight and you find witch folder contains the Contact App.
Look at the right side when Spotlight founds the app.

Why has my phone icon disappeared?

While I was lying in bed my phone turned on because it was warning me of a voicemail,so I turened my phone on and went to check my voicemails but that's when I relized I was missing my phone icon,because it was missing from its usual spot.I've tried restarting and rebooting my iPhone but nothing seems to help.
Can anyone help me fix this?

Check in All Folders and on All Pages/Screens...
Check in Restrictions...
Settings > General > Restrictions
If no joy...
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen
