Phone Interference Recording Audio

Hello Everyone:
I've been recording music with my current setup over a year now and had no problems. Suddenly I now can hear voices (sounds like phone conversation) during my vocal recordings. I thought it might be the mic so I tried it in on an amp in the same area as the Macbook. No voices were heard. Also, when I have my guitar plugged into the mic port on the Macbook I have a weird humming interference. I have to suspect that this relates to the Macbook. Should I bring it in as it is under warranty? It seems as though it is intercepting phone signals. If not should I be calling the FCC to report some haywire electronics from the neighbors?
Thanks,
GrandPrix132

I've tried two sets of guitar wires and had the same result. I've also tried both cords in an amp and everything sounded prefect. As for the voices, I have to suspect that something is intercepting a phone call. I can actually hear the person talking. What is weird is if I put my hand on the mic the voices get louder and more clear (as if I'm functioning as an antenna). I have to suspect this has to do with the Macbook. Everything else has worked properly in everything except for my Macbook. The only thing I question is the converter which takes the mic/guitar plug and converts it into the small mic port. Could this really be intercepting the signals? I have to this chance is slim.

My phone is not jailbroken.  I don't know what you mean about hacked.   Maybe it is hacked?   This is what is happening: About three times over the past few months I've noticed that my phone while "off" will come on (light up) and the screen shows an arrow towards the bottom; an arrow such that you would see on various "players" in order to "play" video or audio, I've searched my phone and cannot find any app that produces this particular screen though. Once I pick up the phone when this screen myseriously appears out of nowhere and press anything, it goes away and goes to the standard "slider" front page to unlock the phone.

  • Recording audio in motorola iden phones

    Hi all,
I'm currently developing a midlet to record and play back audio on iden phones. However, I'm getting:
    MediaException: Player cannot be prefetched
    when during the recording part.
I'm using i605 model, and have checked it against the developer's guide, that this model supports audio recording.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Sansony,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you would like to record audio from the headphones you connected to your computer. When recording audio with QuickTime Player, you can choose to use the built-in microphone, an external microphone you’ve connected, or a microphone from a connected Apple display. Please use the following article as a reference.
Mac Basics: QuickTime Player creates, plays, edits, and shares video and audio files
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4024
Clicking the triangle icon gives you additional options, such as letting you choose whether to use the built-in microphone on your Mac, an external microphone you've connected to your Mac, a microphone from a connected Apple display, or the option to simply use no microphone at all. The triangle also allows you to adjust the finished quality of your screen recording, select whether or not your mouse clicks are shown during the recording (the pointer is highlighted when you click), and to select what location (on your Mac) to save your screen recording when finished.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • I have voxer, and my phone keeps saying when I am trying to hold and speak, that voxer cannot record audio without a microphone, please connect a headset and try again.

I have downloaded voxer on my phone, it was working yesterday and today, I put my phone on my docking station and used voxer a few times while it was on there.  When I took it off and tried to send a new message my phone keeps saying when I am trying to record a new message, Voxer can't record audio with out a microphone, please connect a headset and try again?
does anyone know how to change it back so it will work again?
    thanks for your help

Try resetting your phone by pressing and holding the Home button and the power button unti the silver apple appears. If that doesn't work, contact the developer of the app.

  • How to record audio using wireless phone headset on a mac (Adobe CS6)?

I have purchased a Plantronics Savvi w440 headset, with which I want to record audio. I was assured by the company that I could.
Well, Audition won't record me talking; it only "picks up" about 1 sec, then stops recording.
I have used a variety of mics before; I know how to set them up in Audio Hardware. My Default input & output are this new headset. Still, no recording.
I have Audition CS6 on a macbook pro.
    I need help. Thanks.

Thanks Bob for your help. I had already downloaded and installed the software for this headset on my Mac. Still won't work. There are no updates for this headset. At least, I haven't found one.

I am trying to record audio on a few different MIDP 2.0 handsets and would like to know if it's possible to send this audio off of the handset.
Anyone have any ideas of how to do this? Send a multimedia message or is there a better way to send it over the network?
    Thanks for you input.

  • Recording audio from a soundboard

Hello fellow iMac'ers, got a brand iMac with OSX Mavericks. I'm trying to set it up to record sound from a Peavey XR1212. I'm a PC guy, so I'm used to using Audacity to do the same procedure, so I downloaded it and tried to get it to work.  The soundboard has an "mp3 in" line as well as an RCA out jack.  The iMac does not have a mic in line, only a headphone port.  I called Apple Support and the representative informed me that the headphone port on the Mac is smart enough to determine whether I would be using it for headphones of a mic in line, so I should put the mic in line there.  So my set up was running an RCA jack (red and white connected to soundboard) with a headphone jack on the other end into the headphone port on the Mac.  When I began recording on the through Audacity, the program did not show me the soundboard or the RCA jack as one of the available options to choose to record sound from, it defaulted to the internal mic on the Mac as the only option.
I did not try going from the "mp3 in" line from the soundboard (which btw is a headphone port as well) to the headphone port on the back of the Mac.  I use an auxiliary cord to play music from the Mac through the soundboard with these headphone ports, but it just didn't seem obvious to me that this set up could be used for recording.
While I was downloading Audacity, the Mac was updating garageband, which I have little to no familiarity with.  I have done some research and found out that I could potentially use this to record from my soundboard as well.  So finally here is my questions:
    1) The back of the iMac has 4 USB ports, 1 FireWire port, 1 headphone port and 1 ethernet port.  Since there is no "mic-in" port, what port can I use to record audio from the soundboard in audacity or garageband?
    2) If I go from the soundboard with an RCA into the headphone port on the Mac, can I use garageband to record?

Thanks. Now, since Apple failed to provide an audio in jack for their new and improved iMacs (mine has one), all I can suggest is that you contact AppleCare, since you have 90-dqy free phone support. If need be, you might reconsider your purchase, but that's for you to decide.

  • Recording audio and adding pics

I have an iPhone 4 and I would like to record myself singing a song and put it to pics from my phone without hooking up to a computer. How can I do this? Is there an app for that? I've found ones with will do it to songs on my playlist but not a recording

    Hi Comoass,
The application that I would recommend for you would be iMovie. With iMovie, you can create your project and record audio, such as a voiceover, directly into the project. This first link is a general overview of iMovie for iOS.

  • Where did the "record audio from speakerphone" option go in Connect 8??

When I went to start a recording today in Connect 8, I noticed that the "record audio  from speakerphone" option is missing on the pop-up where you enter your  recording name and description.  Where did this option go?  This is how  we record all of our meetings where we do not have integrated audio  (usually due to using an operator assisted line.)  I did double-check my flash settings and made sure the meeting had access to the microphone.

Connect 8 records all audio from the Phone if that was used, or VOIP or via Universal Voice. It picks up all audio in the meeting.
If you have associated a universal voice audio profile with the meeting, choose Audio > Join Audio Conference.
    Choose Meeting > Record Meeting.
In the Record Meeting dialog box, enter a name and summary for the meeting recording.
A recording icon (red circle) appears in the menu bar to indicate that the meeting is being recorded.

  • I just recorded audio using QuickTime, but now I can't use it in iMovie.

I used QuickTime 10.0 to record audio, but now I have no way of using this audio in iMovie. I added it to my iTunes library, but I can't drag it into my project to use as a regular audio file. I can't even convert it to some audio format since QuickTime 10 doesn't have that feature.
Help! I was hoping to create a screen recording demo via QuickTime and overlay it with audio using speech I recorded using QuickTime as well, but now I see I can't. Is there any way to use audio recorded with QuickTime other than just listening to it?!? Seems like a feature that isn't done yet.

The thing is that there is no unlocked phone in the US that is available for purchase.  The T-Mobile phone is contract/sim free and not unlocked and for the unlocked phone you have to wait for at least a couple of months after release before the unlocked phone is available.
That is why you cannot use the phone in the UK because it was never unlocked in the first place if you activated it with T-Mobile.  Sim/Contract free and unlocked do not mean the same thing.  You will have to wait at least 2 months now before T-Mobile will consider unlocking your phone and then you won't be able to get 4G in the UK and you have no UK warranty, only US where you purchased the phone.
Why not buy a new phone in the UK that is unlocked and sell the US one?

  • Recording audio level in Sound control panel resets after each slide

This has been a HUGE problem for me ever since I went from Windows XP to Windows 7 and Captivate 5.5.  Basically, the sound was not recording loudly enough no matter what I did.  So, I checked the Sound Control Panel and the Level was down to 12.  Of course, I adjusted it to 100.  It would stay at 100 for just one recording.  As soon as I hit the red recording button a second time, Captivate readjusts it back down to 12.
Now, you might think that this has something to do with my hardware device.  Think again.  I tried numerous hardware devices -- it did not matter which device I used -- the problem remained the same.  You might also think that it is not a Captivate problem, but how do you explain that the problem does not exist when I record audio in any other program -- Lectora, Articulate, Windows Audio recorder?  It ONLY occurs with Captivate.
So, I finally got an Adobe Support person on the phone ...  somewhere way down in TIMBUCKTOO -- of course!  And of course, he could not help me or explain why this is happening and tried to blame it on anything except Captivate.  This has added 6-7 keystrokes to every slide I have to record....  and drastically impacted productivity.
Is anybody listening out there?  Because I'm pulling my hair out and ready to dump Captivate!

I'm posting specs on my machine.  If there are any settings I left out, please let me know where to go to find further information.  I'm assuming my audio/sound devices may be of interest here:

  • Problem in recording audio on Note 2,3 (AIR 13)?

    Peace be upon you ^_^
My team and I developed an android game using flash pro cs6, we published it like two months ago.
Now,we are fixing the bugs for the next update.
1 level in the game accesses the microphone to check for input only, doesn't record anything (record audio permission)..
it just listens for sound to blow up a balloon. It works perfectly on most devices, but some users reported it not working !
I checked some cases my self, it didn't work on Samsung Note 2,3 running jellybean 4.4.2, some SIII phones and others.
my phone is SIII (jeallybean 4.3) and it works fine on it ..
WHY? what could be the problem?
I suspect it's AIR compatibility problem with some android versions ... :/
*please note that AIR runtime is embedded inside the app (captive)
    thank you for your help

  • Video Recording - Audio distorted / missing?

I went to a showcase last night and recorded a video of one of the performances. The music was pretty loud, but not any louder than any other show. I had no problem enjoying the music without my ears hurting and my ears are pretty sensitive.
I checked the recording (3 min long) today and the sound is terribly distorted for the first minute or so and then cuts out completely. Obviously this wasn't the case during the show. I tried another sample recording of me just talking and it works and sounds fine. The video file also sounds the same when transferred to my computer.
Does anyone have any thoughts or has had this happen to them?

I had the same issue. Recorded songs at concerts 2 nights in a row and at a loud nightclub. Audio terribly distorted most of the time. Sound cuts in and out completely at seemingly random times (no pattern based on sound volume - the shows were at a fairly constant level of loudness - very loud). At first I thought I may have accidentally been hitting some button/screen item on the phone while recording, but I don't think there is anything on the phone that would produce the on and off sound situation. Never have this problem when recording in normal sound level situations. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. If I need some app or external mic, I'd be happy to get it so I can record at concerts.

  • Anyone know if there is an adapter to record audio from an outside source in real time to an iphone 4s or 5s video?

Anyone know if there is an adapter to record audio from an outside source in real time to an iphone 4s or 5s video?

    Hi @imobl,
You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
To respond to some of the points you made,
    - I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
    - you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
    - all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..
Please refrain do. Responding if there is nothing to add.
