I've been experiencing this problem for the past 3 days and went to my provider today to ask about.
My phone has been running extremely slow, the hour clock thing is forever running, and as a result my phone dies in about 3 to 4 hours with no real use. I was told it was because i need to update my OS but when I came home and plugged it in it says that my phone is up-to-date and there is no OS upgrade available. i bought a replacement battery to see if that was the problem and it is not. this is becoming quite frustrating. it has even gotten to the point of when i lock the phone i cant unlock it over even get the screen to turn on. the only way to turn it on is to pull the battery out and put it back in.

My MacBook Pro has been running hot, slow and eating up battery power lately.

I see ads everywhere except the app store for an app called maccleaner. Will this app do what it says and bring back my old speed? If not, how can I get my old smooth running Mac back?

Are you running andy anti-virus or "cleaning" software? Both can shorten battery life and run up the temps.
Take a look at this Apple article:

Note in Step 3 you need to make a change if running Mavericks. In Mav, Activity Monitor's "Show All Processes" function moved from the application window to the application menubar:
Setting to "All Processes" is the only sure way to catch some suspects. Not noted in the article is this: AM won't tell you much if you run it shortly after a restart. Use your computer as normally as possible for at least a half-day before running the test. Also not clear is that you should be looking for any process that uses more than about 10 percent of the cycles. All design programs running extremely slow and takes forever to save and sometimes shuts down randomly?

Ok so I'm a design student at a community college (about to graduate soon and will be continuing on getting my BFA) I have all of the creative cloud suite. I have Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, etc. Recently I started having problems with all of the programs. Whenever I work in the programs they would run extremely slow. Recently, I tried to save a .eps file that was only about 1.2 GB and it took me an hour to save, and this was when I was working off of my computer desktop. When I place the .eps file in Indesign, everything would go blank and it would freeze up. Also I had an error sign popping up from InDesign saying "out of memory". Im not sure if that is related to my computer's hard drive or indesign itself. I just started using creative suite so the creative suite is pretty new to me. Sometimes in Indesign when I do the Command+w to preview the whole project, it would be completely black and showing nothing and I would hit escape and the whole software screws up. Then I would do a force quit on the software and then Indesign would say there was a serious error and must shut down. That error message has been popping up several times now. I also talked to Apple support and they suggested me doing a Repair disk utility (which I am currently doing right now) and also recommended me contacting Adobe since they know their software. I checked software to see if there is any updates that is needed but everything is up to date. I'm not quite sure why its acting like this so I'm reaching out both to Apple and Adobe to see if both can help me solve the problem. If anybody had experienced this problem before and could help me troubleshoot this issue that would be great.

I installed the creative suite about a year ago, and this just started happening last weekend. I didn't think it would be a problem and that it would last for a day since I was working on InDesign all day and Illustrator and it usually goes away after I finish using the programs. But this has been occurring for about a week now and has not gone away. and yes the other programs are running slow. First remove the antivirus software, it's possible that could be part of your problem! Slow Mac's can be caused by many different issues, including failing HD's, a HD that is too full (OS X really likes to have about 10-15% of the HD available), insufficient RAM, etc.. Your problem has nothing to do with "viruses." DO NOT install any kind of "anti-virus" software.
First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
One possible cause of a slow user interface is a large number of image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons. If you have more than a dozen or so such files, move them to another folder.
Otherwise, take these steps when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
Step 2
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way as above. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Post the 50 or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.

Problem description:

Hp pavilion dv7-3188cl runs extremely slow! to the point it cant be used

ok so when i first use my laptop it seems like everythings fine, than all of a sudden it gets extremely slow. i cant do anything. if i leave it alone for like an hour it usually goes back to normal. but i dont understand whats making it slow down in the first place. i ran multiple anti virurus scans and found nothing, aswell as malware scans. just cant figure out what this could be. thanks in advance

Right click on Computer and select properties. Now select advanced system settings.Now select the settings button under performance. Now select the Change button under Virtual memory.Highligh the C drive and then Select Custom size.look below and use the number that you see to the right of Recommended.Put that number in as the minimum and maximum values for the custom sized swap file.Now select the Set button and then select OK.You can select OK on the other open windows to close them.Your PC will restart and will be noticeably quicker.You have just tweaked your swap file size and virtual memory settings. IMovie HD running extremely slow and generally unstable...

I am using iMovie HD 6.0.3 for video editing in DV format. Up until today it's been running well, but now for some reason it take about 10 minutes to open up my file...no kidding. In the meantime, my computer is useless and the ball just spins. By the time the force quit option appears, it's pretty much stable enough to use. I think it started after iMovie just quit on me and no error report came up earlier today.
I tried deleting the imovie preference file and all other files in the quicktime folders and such. I've also repaired permissions and reinstalled the OS X 10.4.8 update.
I know this is not normal operation since i've been editing this same file for a week now with no problems until today. Is there anything else I can do? I have to present this video in class and since I've been talking up iMovie over Movie Maker, I really need this to work.

NB-505 runs extremely slow

My NB-505 runs very slowly even after a memory upgrade to 2GB. I have read comments from other users that this can sometimes result from "bloatware" packaged with the system, eating memory and hurting performance. If this is true, what packaged software should I look for and uninstall?

1. Everyday laptop aren't made for hardcoregaming and overheating will cause your system to crash or freeze or lockup.
