Phone keeps making a clicking noise while I am on calls

phone keeps making a clicking noise while I am on calls

Is it constantly beeping or is it beeping when you place it on the touchstone? If you place it on the touchstone and it beeps this is expected behavior. Also note that you could be bumping the device shifting it off the charger and then back on thus the beeping noise telling you that it has been realigned again properly and is charging properly.

What keeps making the cyclical noise while in sleep?  Sounds like iMac is loading a graphic or different screen.  Does it periodically while in sleep mode.  How do I correct this?  Just started doing it in the last few months.

I finally figured out how to fix this.  First I reviewed "Mac OS X: Why your Mac might not sleep of stay in sleep mode."  I noted the bullet:  "Do you have any other external USB or Firewire devices connected?"  I have an CP685AVR for a UPS for my Mac.  I replaced the battery a few months ago.  I also hooked up Apple's 'Energy Saver' power management software to the CP685AVR using the USB connection.  I disconnected it, and that solved the problem.  I still have the UPS and battery back-up; I just can't "monitor" the battery.  What's to monitor?  It always said the battery was 100% charged even right up to the time the previous battery failed.  Thanks for listening, uh... reading.

  • I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro and the hard drive keeps making a clicking noise. The computer is still under warranty. Will it cost anything to be repaired and will all the data on the hardrive be lost?

    Help would be appreciated

Forgot to say the computer will not start up and goes to a white screen.
It's related to your hard drive failure.
White screen means the EFI partition isn't loading and it's the first partition on the drive to load up, EFI contains the gray boot screen.

When songs are playing in itunes the sound keeps pausing for brief moments and making little clicking noises. Any ideas how to fix this?

Error -36 is an I/O error, which could indicate a damaged Catalog file, corrupted bitmap or (even worse) a dying HD.
I would recommend to run Disk Utility and perform a 'Verify disk'.
If lots of errors are found, try to save as much files as possible to another disk.
Then perform a 'Repair disk'. Repairing a catalog file or bitmap might cause loss of files, that's why I recommend to verify first and save the files, before repairing.

  • Media Bay Fan making a clicking noise

I have a powermac G5 tower.  Just recently the media bay fan located next to the hard drive started making a clicking noise.  If I turn off the computer for a while and turn it back on the fan does NOT make the noise.  But after the computer runs for about 5 minutes the clicking starts again.  The fan is running normally but the clicking is annoying.  Does anyone know what might cause this?  Will it damage the computer more if I run it like this?  The only way to replace the fan is to replace the case and it's not worth it to me to do that.  Any suggestions would be helpful because I can't find any info on the internet.  Thanks for any help!

You should be able to a replace the fan without replacing the case, but I think the fan is going out.
There can be other things, sometimes something in the case may drop down just  low enough to bump into the fan. So, make sure you use a high-powered magnifying glass and a heavy-duty flashlight to inspect the fan thoroughly. Spin the fan with your finger, see if you can move the fan forwards and backwards.
If there is enough forward and backward play in the fan the noise could be coming from that. After the fan heats up the electric motor becomes loose and the fan may be jutting out and hitting the case.

  • HT1338 MacBook Pro 13.3: Desktop screen will not come up when turned on.  Screen is blank except for an icon of a folder with a question mark on it, in the middle of an otherwise blank screen, laptop making a clicking noise.

My MacBook Pro 13.3 MAC OS  X v10.7 laptop will not come up.  Blank screen comes up, no color/desktop, etc., only an icon of a folder in the middle of the screen with a question mark on the folder.  Laptop making a clicking noise. Suggestions? Thanks!

It's under warranty. Take it in to have Apple fix it.
The "flashing ?" means the machine can't find the start up disk. The clicking noise is a give away that the drive is damaged.

    Syamak,
You didn’t specify where the beeping noise is coming from.
If it’s coming through your speakers, you could try to update your audio drivers since it’s possible they’re incorrectly sending a signal to the speakers as the audio chipset enters standby.
If the noise is coming from the motherboard, you’ll need to take a closer look at your system’s configuration or contact the manufacturer.
    I hope this helps.

  • Strange Clicking noise while starting Mac Book Pro Retina Display Late 2013

Hello i´m very concerned about a clicking noise while starting  my mac, the sound comes from the left side, is the SSD producing  this noise ?, this machines are supposed to be very silent right? what do i do? how can claim a replacement?

I too think it is related to body chemistry reacting with the metal or some other environmental condition. Sometimes I have fairly sewaty hands and I have corrosion on the edge of my top case. I don't really care about it. Its a tool and tools wear.
I was told by an engineer that it is referred to as "rusty hands". I'm not sure if its high alkaline or acid, but the engineer told me I had rusty hands after I had been using a drill press for a couple of days. There was rust all over the chuck, and other parts of the drill where I had touched it.

Recently my mac has been making a clicking noise and will not stop, it is extremely irritating. It is coming from the center of the computer, like where the screen connects to the keypad. any idea what is going on or how to stop it?

Possibly the hard drive is failing. Make a backup ASAP.

My HP Officejet 4680 All-in-One has been making a clicking noise prior to printing for a few days. I pressed on the front panel to feel where the noise was coming from and now it doesn't print at all. Says it is printing but it is not.

HP Pavilion G6-1b70us - Purchased 2 days ago from Office Max

That is a hard drive clicking. It sounds kind of intermittent like it might be just the hard drive safety system parking the read head on the drive. Do you get a sustained click when you try to boot up? Have you tried the hard drive health test in the BIOS? Just tap F10 as you power up and go into the setup/bios and look for the hard drive self-test and run the long form version and see what you get.
