Phone Keeps Resetting

My phone keeps resetting itself. It goes from time clock to status bar back to time clock. I've done a soft rest and hard reset. Any other ideas?

Hiya!
Do you mind clarifying that a little more please?
Is the phone powering itself off or is it stuck in a loading loop?

  • My phone keeps resetting after upgrading my iOS, is anyone else experiencing this on their iPhone 4 ?

my phone keeps freezing and then resetting itself with that annoying circle made up of lines as it resets when doing simple operations like messaging. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm getting this on my 5s. When scrolling fast i get random complete screen halts. When holding down on a scrollable portaion of a screen the screen jittes badly and then begins to hop all over the place.
Seems a bit suspicious, and more than a little disappointing.
    Any thoughts anyone?

  • My phone keeps resetting and wont stop

my phone keeps restting and i am not even doing anything how can i make it stop??

    Hello cscafs921,
Having a consistent and reliable device is almost a necessity in today’s society. Our cell phones provide us with so many functions that it’s hard to image life without it. The HTC Rhyme is one of the premium cell phones that we offer that has an unlimited amount of features and functionalities. Coupled with the matching accessories that comes with it out of the box and you will have a wireless experience that can’t be beat! May I ask what was the last action done on the device prior to the constant resetting? Can I assume that the device does not have any physical or liquid damage? If you are still experiencing the resetting issue then the best step to resolve is a factory data reset. Below is a link on how to perform this reset.
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=47032
As always, I encourage you to verify that all of your personal information has been backed up prior to performing this reset. If you are a user of Backup Assistant then you can go to My Verizon to verify that your contacts are saved on our website. If not then Gmail is set by default to back up any contacts and calendar entries. Feel free to log in from a computer to verify that this information is archived prior to proceeding.
Once you have completed the factory reset then the device would need to be reactivated and re-setup. There is a brief tutorial on the device that will walk you through the activation and setup process. Once the tutorial has been completed, I suggest testing all voice and data services on the phone. Finally, if I can ask you to retry the last action that you did on the phone before the device stated resetting to confirm that the reset worked. In either case, I hope that you reply with your findings as I am eager to know the results.
    Thank you…

  • My phone keeps resetting and then shows the icon to plug into itunes but when i do itunes tells me that it can't connect to my phone because it has a passcode and wants me to unlock it to connect. My phone only gives me the option to make emergency calls.

My phone started resetting today over and over and then shows the icon to plug into itunes. When I tried plugging in, a message pops up saying that itunes can't connect because my phone has a passcode and i need to unlock it to connect. my phone won't let me do anything more than make an emergency call. it wont give me the option to enter my passcode to unlock the phone. What can I do?

After a visit to the apple store, they were able to get through my pass code but unfortunately I found out that is was a problem with the logic board. Since Apple only wants to sell and not fix, I was able to locate an iphone repair near me that deals with logic boards and they are currently working on it right now. i should be getting it back soon. Im not sure if the problem you are experiencing is the same as i went through but it does sound like it may be also a hardware issue and would suggest searching online for an iphone repair place that can diagnose what exactly is wrong. Hope this helps.

  • Y does my phone keep reseting and freezing on me after a few seconds of use

y does my iphone 3gs keep resting and freezing on me

    because its cold? <jk>
I don't know, but have you tried a hard reset:
Hold home button and sleep/wake button simultaneously
UNTIL you see apple logo (ignore red slider)
    Let go
    Let phone reboot
IF that doesnt solve the problem..try restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
and if that doesnt', make a genius bar appt and let the apple guys figure it out

  • Phone keeps asking for password on an Apple ID I never created.  Won't reset password.  Never get email.  Birthdate incorrect.  What do I do?

Phone keeps asking for password on an Apple ID I never created.  On my sons phone, it keeps asking for his password for a supposed Apple ID I NEVER CREATED!  I've tried every combination of passwords I can imagine and every route I can think of.  It won't let me delete the account until I can sign in with that password.  Somehow, the find my iPhone has created a loop that won't let me do anything after loading ios7.   It won't even let me delete all contents or settings without the password!  When I ask for it to reset my password, no email comes....  I don't know what to do!  Please help

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out of the account from your iOS device first, then sign back using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

I cant coonect it to the computer because the iphone keeps resetting itself and the restore or activation cannot be completed. Do I just need to get a new iphone? I have a 3gs and dont want to get a new iphone. Also the iphones sim card wont work and I have tried to do a hard reset mutiple times.

Sounds like your phone was jailbroken.  If it was, you will need to get another phone.  That phone is permanently disabled.

My phone keeps freezing and I have the 5s and now it won't turn on but I can talk to sir

If you can talk to Siri, but the screen is not turning on, try the 2 button reset.  Press and hold the Sleep/Wake (Power) Button and the Home Button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that doesn't make you screen come back on, you can try restoring your iPhone. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414

Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

  • Ipod will not charge, keeps resetting, extremely low battery.

    Someone please help!!
I adore my Ipod, its 2+, it was working fine, till a few months ago.
In the beginning, it stopped charging on the computer, it synced, but i would have to charge in on a Ipod radio thing first.
Then after awhile, on the radio, (it worked perfectly at first) the ipod would come up with the message, "This accessory not supported by Ipod", it would still play on it, movies, songs, and charge it, but the message would come up every often.
Now it refused to be recognized by the radio, and won't charge.
(yet if you press play the song and movies will play)
It had very little battery left so i bought a wall charger.
I tried charging with a wall charger and car charger!
Now its basically dead, and when i plug it on to the wall charger, the apple logo comes on, and it goes to low battery message, then apple logo..again again.
It just keeps resetting, so i took it off that.
Leaving on the charger for awhile won't work, because it just keeps doing that.
    What do i do?
I can't restore it, because i'd have to charge it first!
(I got a new battery for it a few weeks ago, the battery life was way better, charged a bit faster, and it seemed to work better, but the computer still drained it)
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Please please please.
I swear i love it, but i'm going to throw it out the window soon.
    -edit,
just to add, the first thing that went wrong, that started this thing, was when i got that -48 error, it doesn't do that anymore just to add

I have the same problem and sent my ipod to a the service center for a battery replacement. I was informed by them first by email that "Our technicians have performed full diagnostic checks on your IPOD 5TH GENERATION and have been unable to reproduce the symptom(s) you reported when you requested the repair. As a result of our tests, we can confirm that your product meets Apple specifications for performance, usability, and functionality." then I was told over the phone that they reloaded the software and firmware and that it is working properly and is being sent back to me. Then, and heres the kicker, I received my i pod back with a form stating it was a hardware failure affecting another component. I have since called multiple times and no one can tell me where the hardware failure is but the ipod still says its a battery issue. Go figure i think apple knows exactly what the faulty part is that is causing this error and has no solution short of replacing the unit and they dont want to replace the units of all those with this hardware failure

  • After forgetting the password for my iPhone, I am trying to restore it through iTunes, however, during the process, the phone keeps turning on and asking for the password, thus canceling the process. Any advice?

Yes, you will still get the prompt.
I meant reset then try the recovery mode restore again.
You can also try DFU Mode.
DFU (Device Firmware Update) Mode is different than Recovery Mode.
DFU Mode is a special mode where the device can still interface with iTunes, yet it does not load the iBoot bootloader.
    DFU Mode:
Plug your device into your computer.
    Turn off the device.
Hold the Power button for 3 seconds
Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds
Release the Power Button but keep holding the Home button
Keep holding the Home button until you are alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode
NOTE: Make sure the device screen is blank and no logos are present. Be patient, it make take several trys.
