Phone keeps saying "Network Extender"

I updated my phone today to whatever system updates the phone said needed to be done (don't claim to be any type of expert or even half way droid literated...) The system version is 4.5.596 android version 2.3.3 if that is of any help. Right after I updated the phone, I started hearing the phone say "network extender". Now this started at work and the hospital I work in uses Verizon as the provider for all of their phones, so they might have a network extender in the hospital to boost their signal. I turned down the volume on the notifications, but I came home and it is continuing to say the same thing and I don't have a network extender. Why is it doing this? What does it mean? And how do I stop it without turning down the volume on all of my notifications?? Thanks for any help. C M

neither did the verizon guy but it happened while he was on the phone and we figured out that I had just gotten an email. So he sent a text and it did it again... When we looked at the settings it was set to default and then after default it said "network extender". Odd what things decide to do on thier own!

The space you purchased is in iCloud. It is not on your phone, and there is no way you can use it directly on your phone. The phone comes with whatever memory you purchased it with (8, 16, 32 or 64 GB) and that number will never change. You can use iCloud memory for backups, for syncing your mail, contacts, calendars, notes and photos. You can also use it for storing non-iTunes music to stream back to the phone (iTunes music also, but the storage for that is free, and is not part of the storage you purchased) and Documents and Data for apps that are iCloud enabled (such as Apple's Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps).
Apple gives you 90 days of free telephone support when you buy an iPhone or iPad. I guess they figure that 3 months is enough time to get your startup questions answered. You also had the option of buying AppleCare, which would have extended the 90 days free telephone support to 2 years.
You can still get free support from Apple by going to any Apple store, and from other users in this user-to-user support forum. And frequently user support is more useful than Apple's, because users don't have Apple's lawyers overseeing everything that is said by Apple employees.

Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan.

if it's a message coming from your yahoo account, it means that your account has been compromised, not your phone itself. i would suggest changing the password for your email account

After you have downloaded the update, attach your iPad to your computer, open iTunes and select your iPad in the devices list. Press & hold the Option/Alt key and click the Check for Update button. Browse to where you downloaded the update and Choose it. iTunes will handle the rest.

Try resetting your phone by pressing and holding the Home button and the power button unti the silver apple appears. If that doesn't work, contact the developer of the app.

Just have to give it some time. The activation and verification servers are all slammed right now 'cause of all the people trying to update at the same time. Give it a couple hours (or overnight if you can wait) and it should sort itself out.

It sounds like your available free space is not reporting properly. I would start by quitting the Settings app:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

The taking of photos requires storage capacity on the phone itself. iCloud storage has nothing to do with picture taking, that is backup storage area. You will have to remove content from the phone to increase storage on the phone to be able to take photos.
