Phone keeps saying searching.

Okay, so I have the iphone 5c, and have had it for about 2 months now. I've had no problems with it, but all of a sudden, it kept saying "No SIM card" when I know there is one. So, after taking the SIM card out and putting it back in a few times, the problem seemed to go away. Then, a few weeks later, it satrted again. Now when it does this, my service will go from 3g, to 1x, to no service at all. I tried the same thing with the SIM card again, and it worked for about an hour, until the service was completly lost and it just says "Searching.' I have tried everything from reseting my network settings, reseting all of my settings, turning it off and on, holding the home and lock button to make it restart, and nothing seems to be working. Any ideas???

Contact your carrier and ask for a replacement SIM. That one is obviously going "flakey".

Turn your iPhone off, then on again.
Remove the SIM card and verify that it's a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it isn't damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.

After trying to download the iOS 6 update, my phone keeps saying "searching...", and that means it is not trying to activate??

I have hooked it up to iTunes like the tech from AppleCare told me, we backed up the contacts, and tried to restore it to factory settings. It is still doing the "searching...." at the top of the screen. The tech told me to turn it off for an hour and he would call back but he thinks I need to go into an Apple store, and the closest one is an hour away. Not to mention, it is going to be crazy busy with 5 just coming out. If anyone has any information for me, I would really appreciate it, I am frustrated to say the least right now!

When I updated my iPad 3 and iPod Touch 4th generation to iOS 6 a few months back, I was able to update the iPad effortlessly over WiFi. but I kept getting error messages when trying to update the iPod over WiFi, so I used iTunes on my MacBook Pro.
Connect the iPad to the computer, launch iTunes. Select the iPad under the devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update

It sounds like you are trying to restore your phone but are unable to turn off Find my iPhone to do so. If you have already backed up your phone to iTunes on your computer with the info from the article named:

I would try deleting the iCloud account from the phone altogether, then restoring the phone again.
On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.

Like you mentioned, she bought it from the Vodafone store and most likely the phone is locked to Vodafone. But, in your case since you are using the same carrier's SIM card (Vodafone), "unlocking the phone" is not an issue. As you have already tried restoring the phone (which technically wasn't required) and SIM change, your best option is to take the phone to Vodafone store and ask them to activate it for you.

if it's a message coming from your yahoo account, it means that your account has been compromised, not your phone itself. i would suggest changing the password for your email account

The space you purchased is in iCloud. It is not on your phone, and there is no way you can use it directly on your phone. The phone comes with whatever memory you purchased it with (8, 16, 32 or 64 GB) and that number will never change. You can use iCloud memory for backups, for syncing your mail, contacts, calendars, notes and photos. Try resetting your phone by pressing and holding the Home button and the power button unti the silver apple appears. If that doesn't work, contact the developer of the app.

Why does my iPhone 4 Bluetooth just keeps saying "Searching" but won't show devices.

Just have to give it some time. The activation and verification servers are all slammed right now 'cause of all the people trying to update at the same time. Give it a couple hours (or overnight if you can wait) and it should sort itself out.

It sounds like your available free space is not reporting properly. I would start by quitting the Settings app:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan.
