Phone keeps  shutting off in middle of call

I phone 4s keeps shutting off in middle of call, sometimes it won't even let me click on name to call #

It sounds like it could be a couple of things causing the issue, try backing up your iPhone via iTunes and restoring the software to eliminate any possible software issues. Don't put you backed up information back on to the phone untill youve had a chance to test it for a few days. If its working properly restore your information, if not book it in for repair.
For more information on repair options use http://www.apple.com/support/service/ and select your product and country.

Phone keeps shutting off and I cannot turn it back on.  After about 5-10 minutes it will turn itself back on.

    Try resetting your iPhone:
Reset: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • My phone keeps shutting off

my phone keep shutting off like its dying and the only way to get it to turn on is plug it into the charger? any solutions

    Howdy there shannirish,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like the phone just will not turn on unless the USB is plugged in and charging.
I would start by resetting the phone and seeing if that helps.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that does not resolve the issue, you may need to backup the phone to iTunes, and then restore the phone. iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
When you restore the phone, I would first just set it up as new, and not restore from your backup just yet. Test the issue first. If it does not persist, then restore the backup and see how it works.
    All the very best,

  • Phone keeps shutting off

Since updating my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.3.2 it keeps randomly shutting off on me.  Has anyone else had this issue and have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Since it appears that you have tried all of the regular troubleshooting for the iPhone, you may need to put the iPhone in DFU mode to try and correct things. Try this first
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If that one doesn't seem to help, you can try this one.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
See if that will get you going.
Since it appears your iPhone may be out of warranty, you can make an appointment with a Genius at the Apple store and they may offer an "out of warranty" replacement for a fee of $199 + tax. Since you don't have a working phone right now, you may consider a non-iPhone replacement if you are in a position to upgrade when the new phones are expected in the June/July timeframe. Up to you.

  • IOS 8.2 update disabled messages & phone keeps shutting off

I have an iPhone 5S.  Capacity is 12.5 GB with 1.4 available.
I just updated today with the 8.2 ios.  My phone has automatically shut itself off too many times to count.  Literally it has shut itself off 4 times since I started writing this....Additionally, FaceTime will not allow me to sign in or connect and finally, Messages will not show any activity.  I tried to toggle the switch and it will not stay open.  I have tried to reboot, sign (unsuccessfully) into iCloud and voluntarily shut off the phone for a reboot.  My messages show up on my macbook but not the phone.  Any help would be appreciated before I smash thing thing into the cement!
    Thanks!

    same prob here!

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
    iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
    Then See Here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once...  Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success.
    If the issue persists...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • Did software update on iphone 4s and phone keeps shutting off and turning back on

Anybody else having a problem with their iPhones after latest software update?

Try resetting the iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider.  Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

  • Just got 4s replaced. Now the sound keeps shutting off on this one.

Just had my 4s replaced by Apple.  The sound on this 'new' phone keeps shutting off.  I can't turn it up or down yet settings show the sound is on.  I've rebooted several times and still nothing.

Restore the phone as new.  If this doesn't solve the problem, bring the phone back.  Replacement phones have a 90 day warranty, or the duration of the original phone's warranty, whichever is longer.

  • Wife's iPhone keeps shutting off randomly and does it even when on calls, restarts and has a dark line in center of the screen then the apple logo. At times it does it several times or won't power up, and the iPhone4 is only five months old. What do we do

Have an iPhone 4 that is now shutting off randomly including during calls. The iPhone is roughly about five months old. When the iPhone shuts down and tries to restart it usually take two or three times before it stays on, but when it does it sometimes has a dark line down the center and shuts off. Not very happy about the iPhone doing this. The store we had purchased the iPhone 4 from suggested that we contact Apple to see about a replacement, or send it away for service. As you can tell we are not happy at this point since the iPhone is crucial part of our day for work and family. What should we do at this point?

    Thanks for the suggestions!
Except I tried all those before I even made this topic lol, but thanks!
I Already popped out the Sim Card & let my phone sit without it for a few minutes then put it back in. Sometimes it will work again & it will say it recognizes the SIM Card but more times then not it still says it cant recognize it! So I have to take it out & reinsert it multiple times.
& I have done a complete restore 2 times & a back up restore 3 times. Nothing seems to be working.
I am planning on going to the Apple Store this week, wish me luck!
But keep the suggestions coming if you have any, I'd appreciate it!

My MBA keeps shutting off every 5 minutes. what is happening? I can't do any work done because of it.

Same problem for me, it happened after 3 weeks.
I had to call Apple, althrough they couldn't solve the problem by phone.
Genius bar were full so they sent me to a local store.
Looks like it has something to do with the graphic card. It occured when I plugged my macbook to my iMac for screen the 1st time
11 days later I'm still waiting to get my macbook back. Hope you can get it faster!
Very disapointed with the support quality and product quality.

  • Mac Pro keeps shutting off randomly

    Hey guys,
My Macbook Pro keeps shutting off randomly. Its been doing it for a few months now and I was finally able to restore it to factory settings to see if that would fix the problem but it hasnt. Sometimes it will shut off every five minutes, other times it will be maybe once an hour. I've noticed that it is more likely to shut off when I'm visiting youtube or watching a video/viewing a site with lots of pictures.
By "shutting off" I mean that the screen goes black and I have to hold down the power button until it completely turns off and then restart it.
When I turn my computer back on it sometimes has a reason for the problem, which I copied and pasted below:

    Kara436,
some 15-inch Mid 2010 MacBook Pros are known to have a defect in their NVIDIA GPUs. Given the symptoms which you’d described, yours might have that defect also. Apple had a gratis servicing program for three years from the MacBook Pro’s date of purchase; they still offer the servicing, but it is no longer guaranteed to be gratis. I’d recommend that you make an appointment at your nearest Apple store or Apple-authorized service center, to have them run their Video System Test on your MacBook Pro, which will confirm whether or not its NVIDIA GPU has the defect.
